  Confirm Cancel Recording
Posted by: NumberFive - 2011-03-11, 12:07 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Hi,

I'm fairly sure last night I was looking at some recordings in progress and clicked on "cancel" instead of "close". Would be nice if it asked "Are you sure you want to cancel this recording?" Would be good on active recordings if not desired on pending recordings.

Thanks Smile

When you delete a recording it jumps back to the top of recordings
It should goto the next recording on the list.

  nDroid v1.2.x (Beta) support thread
Posted by: bgowland - 2011-03-11, 02:01 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (119)

I'd intended to post another version sooner than this but it was a bit like cleaning windows...once you start you realise another bit needs cleaning. Big Grin

I've made quite a few changes to the way the nDroid client app behaves on 'first run' hopefully making it a lot smoother to install. Bear in mind this is Beta code and fairly limited so consider it for 'testing' purposes only rather than relying on guaranteed results.

NOTE: From now on, downloads will be available from the new nDroid wiki page...

Quote:2011-03-22 03:15
  • Update to nDroid client - added new logo to show when no channel logo available
  • Update to nDroid client - can now trigger channel selector popup by touching either the channel logo box or the channel name area to the right of it
  • Update to nDroid client - added channel numbers to the main channel name area and also to the channel selector popup
  • Update to nDroid client and nDroidService - fixed problem with downloading/retaining currently scheduled recording info - still a bug here though, I'm working on it
  • Update to nDroid client - after initial (first run) setup, no longer needs a wifi/mobile internet connection to start. NOTE: Attempting to set/cancel a recording still isn't handled well if wifi and mobile internet are disabled in settings
  • Fixed my Acronis backup set after realising the project hadn't been backed up for the past 3 weeks...sorry, ignore that one, but I had to share. I almost had kittens when I discovered it.

  Weird UI bug
Posted by: drdr6 - 2011-03-10, 10:47 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

After a lot of sweat, I got NPVR running. It seems to wake up and get the EPG ok and record programs.

After starting NPVR, after a certain amount of UI interaction (go to Guide, then to Live TV, then recordings etc.) the program stops working. Navigation about the main screen continues, but none of the plugins will start.

The worst sequence appears to be going to view the Guide first. This will often render it impossible to open the recordings plugin.

The weirdest part of all is that after exiting NPVR, windows is smashed. Explorer is stuck in whatever window happens to be open. For example clicking on "C" in "My computer" causes a brief flash of the contents og the C drive, and then "My computer" is displayed again, just like some kind of "back" key had been pressed just after enter. Same thing happens in Firefox; type into a google search box and the search results change; as soon as enter is pressed google goes back to its home page.

unable to connect to recording service
Posted by: gunterhausfrau - 2011-03-10, 09:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I had a hard drive crash, so a good time to start fresh with nPVR. I thought I had everything set, but I keep getting "unable to connect to recording service" error when I try to go to live tv.

When I go to setup it lists tuners "Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner" and when I scan it finds channels.

Is it odd that I actually have WinTV-HVR-2250?

Could that be the issue, and if so, a way to set it straight?

Thanks.

DVB-S Scan failed - Unable to start device
Posted by: Graham_Shepherd - 2011-03-10, 07:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I am using Vista and running NPVR as administrator.

I've noticed that after running a channel scan on my DVB-S tuners NPVR stops responding after the scan is complete & I click on "ok" to exit the scan window.

Vista then closes NPVR and after relaunching NPVR the channels details are fine, so not really a problem but I ought to mention it.

After having done an initial scan yesterday using Freesat only, I chose to do a re-scan today using Astra 2. All was fine until I got to the last tuner when NPVR now comes up with an error message saying that the device failed to start.

I've checked in device manager and all looks fine and it was obviously ok yesterday. I've also shut down the pc and restarted but still the message persists.

Does anyone have an idea whether this is really a hardware problem or is it a software/driver problem?

For reference I have 2 dual PCTV Sat Pro tuners numbered 1 to 4 in the devices screen. It is PCTV Stargate Tuner #4 which fails to start. I have attached all NPVR logs - could someone have a look please and give me some pointers?

Thanks as always, I really appreciate the assistance of the board members.

Graham

  Delete device?
Posted by: NumberFive - 2011-03-10, 06:11 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Is it possible to delete a device from the list of Tuners? I've removed one that will never be reinstalled. It is listed as not present and not enabled, but ideally it should just not... be. Big Grin

  PopcornHour A100 off with Harmony
Posted by: soccerdad - 2011-03-10, 05:45 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Forgive me for not posting this on the PCH board. I figured that Martin or others here might know this answer.

OK, I just moved my PCH to a different TV. I use Harmony remotes for my systems to help the WAF. Typically, after watching on the PCH, I exit npvr and it dumps me back to the PCH start screens. At that time, I hit the off button on the PCH remote, or the Harmony off button. The green light on the PCH then turns orange and that is the way I leave it.

I set up the Harmony like normal for the new TV so the PCH will work. I used the Harmony Sybus setup for an a-100. Everything works fine, but when I hit Off, the PCH actually shuts OFF and goes completely black on the front, like I pulled the power. No button on the PCH remote (that I have found) will wake it up. Is there an "ON" button that will wake it from this state" Using the PCH remote, it just turns orange, the Harmony turns it off. Is this some function that I should know about or should I just teach my Harmony the correct "standby" mode from the a-100 remote "off"????

  Channels not broadcasting
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2011-03-10, 04:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

NPVR does not seem to be able to deal with channels which are “off air” and only transmitting a MHEG signal. I don’t recall ever seeing any mention in the forum but it was the very first “problem” I saw after my first install. Whereas the TV will display the message NPVR just displays the last frame from the previous channel. It can give the impression that NPVR has locked up if you are not aware you have tuned to a channel which is not broadcasting. However it is not a “Problem” for me as I currently don’t watch live TV via NPVR.

  Bulk Delete Channels
Posted by: Graham_Shepherd - 2011-03-10, 12:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Sorry if I am missing the obvious Wink

I have 6 tuners with a bus load of channels each, I want to limit those which appear on TV Guide & which I collect EPG data for.

I can see that I can go into device setup for each tuner and delete the redundant channels but this is time consuming and I guess that they will come back when I next scan anyway.

If I remember correctly, in GBPVR we had a channels tab in MISC where we could simply globally tickbox channels we wanted.

Does this feature still exist please?

Many thanks - Graham
