Panorama / wide zoom mode in mvpmcx2
Posted by: sblueeye - 2011-02-12, 07:42 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (1)

Hi Martin,

Raising an old issue again:

Is it possible to add a panorama / wide zoom mode to mvpmcx2? (panorama mode = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widescreen_..._Zoom_mode)

Thanks in advance!
Ronny

  Ts format -> comskip -> comclean2 -> cuttermaran
Posted by: johnnysocko - 2011-02-12, 06:38 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Still trying to migrate to NPVR from GBPVR.

The recording spits out a .ts file format. That's different from GBPVR, doesn't bother me.
I had comskip finally working okay in GBPVR.
Moving same to NPVR, cuttermaran (1.70) fails saying "can't open audio <filename>.mp2 Unknown format."

I have comskip.ini set to output_cuttermaran=1 and output_demux=1, and hence don't call bbdmux. I recall there was a reason for that in my old GBPVR setup.

I've not tried debugging myself.

Is this a unique to me thing?

  Video Library Metadata
Posted by: JP23 - 2011-02-12, 05:27 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Hi,

I'm a little unclear about how to get NPVR video library to display metadata and cover art for my films. I have a couple of questions:

1 - The wiki suggests that metadata can be read from a [filename].xml file, or from mymovies.xml. Can the mymovies.xml file contain data about more than one film by referencing the filename somehow, or is this only useful for folders with 1 file in them?

2 - I see that the simplest way to get coverart and metadata is to have one xml file and one image file for each video file. I have one folder with hundreds of films in and adding 2 more files for each one into this folder seems very messy to me. Is there any way to have NPVR look for the data in another location? This could be a subfolder of the video folder, or another location entirely.

16:9 vs 4:3 aspect ration in nPVR
Posted by: ccadieux - 2011-02-12, 04:53 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hi guys,

I was toying around in the backgrounds images and was triing to make my own. I had cut an image for 16:9 aspect and wanted to make the same one for 4:3. For some reason, the Window (not in fullscreen) does not change aspect when I change it in settings (general).
I just applied the System Plugin last night, hope it did not break the "TV Shape" aspect changing.

I welcome your input

Claude

Edit: Should have specified that I am running 1.5.36+patchs System 0.10.12.24

  Overscan
Posted by: imilne - 2011-02-12, 04:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

I have a 1920x1080 display, pixel mapped 1:1 with zero overscan using the catalyst control panel. That's great for blu-rays.

With GBPVR and VMR9 the following config.xml settings exist by default:

Code:
<HorizontalZoom>1.05</HorizontalZoom> <HorizontalOffset>0</HorizontalOffset> <VerticalZoom>1.03</VerticalZoom> <VerticalOffset>0</VerticalOffset>

These provide a small amount of overscan which is perfect for getting rid of those "scruffy" edges that many broadcast channels seem to have, or for avoiding uneven black borders because the broadcast doesn't fully fit its resolution.

Can I do the same in NPVR?

I can't seem to find equivalent config.xml settings, although there is a <Zoom> entry, but that just zooms everything, menus included. Perhaps it's something I should be doing via the AspectRatioModes instead (?) but you'd have no control over the Auto ratio.

  NMT not getting NPVR
Posted by: pcostanza - 2011-02-12, 04:21 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (48)

Once again, after some beta testing I put my fresh image back on and I'm having trouble with NPVR on the NMT. I was able to get NPVR to pop up once and again but no live tv. Now, nothing. The only difference is I removed GBVR entirely.
NTMChecker shows:

I highlighted the error and am uncertain as to exactly what this means. Firewall is fine as far as I can tell. I'm not using any internet or network blocker.

Finally, when I go to the NMT, even after removing GBPVR, I still see a choice for both GBPVR and NPRV. Exactly what file is it I have to edit to remove this?
Thanks

  want issues? NEWA guide
Posted by: johnnysocko - 2011-02-12, 02:16 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - No Replies

Is there an active issue list to avoid duplicates? I've got plenty of issues upgrading from GBPVR. No worries.

I've seen the attached problem a couple times now setting up a recording. The updated TV guide with "pending" recordings show other programs to the left or right also as pending.

  Errors Starting?

Great looking plugin!
I tried this with several skins, and seem to get some errors?
I am not sure if it is the skin, but I did add the recent BlueRetro Skin update from here

already.

Anything obvious I am missing?

  STARTUP_COMPLETE event on NMT
Posted by: alibert - 2011-02-12, 08:57 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (6)

Hi sub,

is there a reason why the STARTUP_COMPLETE event never seems to occur in the mvp server instance? The problem is that I'm trying to set text in the 'Now Playing' section, and there may be problems if the PluginHelper methods "SetAudioDesciption" and "ForceRender" are called too early:

Code:
2011-02-12 11:58:57.528 [DEBUG][11] TV Recordings: Panel: Setting panel text to 'Next Recording: (none scheduled)'... 2011-02-12 11:58:57.538 [DEBUG][11] TV Recordings: Calling 'PluginHelper.SetAudioDescription("Next Recording: (none scheduled)");'. 2011-02-12 11:58:57.538 [DEBUG][11] TV Recordings: Calling 'PluginHelper.ForceRender();'. 2011-02-12 11:58:57.648 [ERROR][11] Unexpected error in doCompositeRendering(): System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at NextPVR.MVP.MVPServerForm.DoCompositeRendering() 2011-02-12 11:58:57.648 [DEBUG][11] DoCompositeRendering() took 80.1152ms

  Next Recording message showing
Posted by: pcostanza - 2011-02-12, 04:04 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (4)

Ok, I swear I try to read each and every post even if it's about something I don't know or don't care so where does the 'Next Recording' message that shows at the bottom of the main screen. I know it wasn't there before today when I added the latest TV listings but I can't see where to turn it on and off.
However, it's not correct as it's showing the next recording as 5 days away when I have 7 shows scheduled to record before the one that's presently listed.
Either way, I like this.
