I did a clean install of Windows 7. I set up the program in config, have all the channels there, and when I click on TV Guide, the screen very briefly goes black like it is going to pull up the TV Guide, but then goes back to the same screen again where I click TV Guide.
Also, as you may remember, I had some problems last year with the program changing the device to PAL. This was solved by going into the direct.ini file and changing the ForceStandard to 1. Well, when I try that now, and try to save it, it says access denied, and how I need the administrator's permission to make changes to the file. Well, I am the administrator. Please help.
I've seen multiple posts regarding failures when trying to pause, but it seems they all had different solutions. When I pause, the screen freezes for approximately 10 seconds and then I'm returned to the main menu. My logs are attached.
Additionally, I can't record. It may be related, but I'll start w/ the pause problem first.
GBPVR used to have F keys, like F2, F3, etc to functions like DVD, TV Guide, etc. Is there something in NPVR like that? It would be great if we could dynamically link F keys to the first several choices on the menu. THen we could use Hip and our remote to jump to certain options.
I am just trying to record from my TV via S-Video input. I have the PVR1600.
I tried to see if there was a way just to configure it for S-Video/Composite only.
I could not figure it out. I know the card is functioning. I was able to "view" the TV via Media Center..What settings should I use? I just want to record some local sporting events..
Not sure what the heck is causing this. It was cooking along fine until 12/11, recordings are showing up as "failed" or "ready", but when I try to play one with "ready" status, it blinks back to the recorded list.
Two recurring (and simultaneous) recordings have gone wrong twice in the last 24 hours. Any ideas much appreciated.
Logs attached. See the end of Nrecord.log.1 in the logs zip.

I came down in the morning and the two shows from 6pm the previous evening were still shown as "recording". I had to stop the recording service to clear it but had missed a number of recordings in the meantime (reported as failed - recording service not runnng at time of recording). The two problem recordings (Simpsons/Xfiles) exist but are only about 15 seconds long each (looks like 15 secs at the start).
Today something happened with the same two recordings (which are recurring recordings) - see Nrecord.log.1. in logs2.zip at the end. This time I got home from work at about 19.30 and the server was switched off. Wife and kids are adamant that no-one has touched it and I accessed it remotely at lunchtime so it was on then. Digital clocks around the house are OK so no power outage. Also seems like whatever happened happened just as those same two recordings were about to start - weird.
I have seen some threads from the summer with recordings reported as failed but actually OK. This seems to be different.
There are some references in the log to not finding BDA filter for WinTV 885 tuner. This is my HVR-1700 which has been removed (and disabled in NPVR). The new card is a Hauppauge TD500 twin DVB-T (shown in the logs as MOD7700).
The obvious solution is to cancel the recurring recording but I would like to try and identify the problem to prevent it happening again.
The mvpmcx2 installer install the mvpmcx2 like the web service on the remote nmt, but it doesn 't work on my system.
To watch live tv I have to browse my network and to find the mvpmcx. Is it a bug or a wrong setting of same script?
I'm trying to set up NPVR to support a number of tuners. Not Sure What I'm missing.
In the old days of GBPVR, I loaded a XML TV EPG and I could assign same channels each tuner.
Within NPVR. I have single XMLTV EPG file with 250 Channels.
I have a Hauppauge HVR1700 With 1 Channel Of Analog configured to RF Channel 22 and the XML File loaded with All Channels available. Eg 250 Channels via the STB.
I have a NovaT500 with 71 Freeview channels (all of which exist within EPG)
I have rename the Channel Name (within NovaT500) (in Channel Details) to match the XMLTV Name, but I see Two Channels for every Channel where I have it from both sources.
I'd like to see one channel and have the ability for NPVR to select from 3 tuners.
Now that Ive finally moved to a 16/9 tv, I should state my path is to eventually have my netbook or a full pc running NPVR and output via hdmi to this new tv (hd output from the netbook is fantastic in a trial ).
That being said, I need a meanwhile solution.
I know the MVP doesnt do fancy hd.. but what is the proper way to config the gbpvr xml file (the ntsc transcode line and the MVP MAC lines), and do I switch the mvpmc config screen to 16:9 mode also ?
Also, does it make much difference outputing from the MVP via S-video vs RCA ? I dont think I can see a difference (but my other settings as per above may be bad).
Thanks for any tips.. Ive sorta drifted off of this forum with the advent of NPVR, but Im close to rejoining the flock. Xmas season prep, a promotion at work and a big push in work there are eating up my time (and mind).. oh, not to mention the 3 and 7 yr old boys.. lol
The last 2 or 3 days I've been having trouble with 'Mark Forums Read' option. It's not working. I wondered if it was a recent FireFox update that caused it but other forums aren't exhibiting the same behavior.
Anyone else see this and if so, what browser?
