In the 1.5.33 announcement thread I posted this bit of exuberance:

All 3 issues are now back. I think the clock drift has to be for some other reason; the CMOS battery is probably just dead. It was likely just coincidence that it went through a period of stability at the same time I put in 1.5.33, and at any rate the return of the clock drift preceeded the return of the other two symptoms by several days.
The next two issues I think are actually related somehow. Both came back after I restarted the recording service due to this issue: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post392564. I've restarted it again since then, and the whole system as well, with no improvement. Absolutely nothing has changed on the system - all I did was restart the recording service after it hung.
Playback often freezes after skipping (whether manually using the skip buttons or for an auto-comskip); to get playback going again I have to skip back and forth a couple of times and with some patience I can get it to go again. When I first installed 1.5.33 skipping was quick and effortless, now it's slow and painful.
The skipping problems occur on any recording, regardless of when it was made, so it's clearly a playback problem and not a recording problem.
NRecord.exe is now back to idling at 20% CPU. And as I mentioned in the thread discussing this awhile back, that's 20% on a dual-core system, meaning it's 40% of a single core - very high for doing nothing.
Sub I know you're away, but I wanted to post this now before I lose the evidence. I got the same problem again where the recording service gets stuck trying to stop a recording.
For some reason it almost always seems to happen on Thursday, though at different times and on different channels; I think it does this because it knows that my wife's shows record on Thursday evening, and it gets some sort of sick satisfaction by getting me in trouble that way. Once I discover it has skipped recording all the shows Thursday night, I can swear I hear a faint giggle in the fan noise :mad: :mad: :mad:

I imported my gbpvr recording into npvr but am not able to watch any of them. when i play it it immediatey closes without doing anything. this is running the latest npvr software.
Since I don't see any stickies in here with common info, I'm going to ask this question the easiest way I can. Are examples of every possible parameter and value used somewhere within the default skin?
I've been told that working by example of the default skin I should get any info I need. If every parameter and value is not used, I'm not sure how that can be. If there is a list with explanations somewhere, or even just a list, please link me there.
Just trying to find the most efficient route to creating my own skin.
I always do EPG updates manually every few days, but last night my computer woke up and did one (which was a waste of time because my xml files were old) and I am not sure why. How do I turn it off again? It's rather annoying because I don't have my computer set to sleep after a period of time
After returning to the TV guide from watching live TV I am unable to watch another channel. I get the error 'unable to communicate with recording device' followed by 'device not present' on subsequent attempts to watch a channel.
The only way I have found to fix this is to manually stop and then re-start the NPVR Service.
Using a USB AF9015 DVB-T Tuner in the UK
Fresh install of Win7Ultimate
NPVR Version 1.5.33

P.S. I can't confirm this right now, but I think this problem is NOT present in WinXP. I have GBPVR setup on my XP disk along with a test install of NPVR, but NPVR is too sluggish on XP, so I installed Win7. If I get a chance I'll boot up XP again and see if I can repeat the problem in XP.

I did a search and found a few similar issues, but none identical to mine, hence the new thread.
I finally got my system set up to record HD on comcast cable, basic package, no stb. All of my HD recordings play back as a snowy black screen with noise, not audio. I can watch HD live and pause and play live HD tv, but my recordings are hosed. I don't know if the recording is bad or the playback, but it's not right. I've searched around here, but haven't found anything that helped.
Capture source is BDA recording plugin, recording source is digital recording plugin. I have tried various combinations of video renderer and decoder settings. All decoders I have are what came with the software.
My machine is XP with a radeon X1950 Pro with 512MB and the Hauppauge 1600 card. I'm using the last version of gbpvr.
Is there any chance that this skin will/can be ported or rewritten for NPVR? I would be glad to offer myself as beta tester
My wife and I realy like this skin and its vertical menu style which offers a good visibilty on our PAL TV set.
Hi folks, having some trouble. I am using a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 900 (66060) USB stick under Windows 7. I have tried using the Win7 software from their website, but it won't record in .mpeg format (which I want prefereably for later use in authoring program) and the picture is poor and grainy, so after much searching on web I am now trying NPVR, but hit problems straight away.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version from the announcements section (1.5.33 beta). I have then opened the application and gone to settings>devices.
I can see two entries as follows:
DVB-T WinTV HVR-900H BDA Tuner
Analog WinTV HVR-900H Capture
I have tried selecting both and going to Device Setup. In there, I am adding a channel 35 to try and pick up my VHS signal (the VHS feeds into the USB stick).
I think there is a problem there, reading across the fields it says

35 My VHS Tuner-Channel 0
so I'm not sure if it is picking up 35, or its just called 35. Is there no way to "scan channels"?
I have also gone to decoders and set as follows:
MPEG2 Video : Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
MPEG1 Audio: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
Not sure what these should be, but they looked the most "defaulty" options.
Either way, once I go back to main menu, the Live TV option is greyed out so I can neither watch nor record any TV/signal. What am I doing wrong?
Any advice muchly appreciated, let me know if theres any more info you need.
