MVP does not play from a network share after installing 1.5.33
Posted by: tmrt - 2010-10-22, 09:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

MVP exits into the root menu when trying to play a mpg file from a network share. There seems to be a bug in 1.5.33 with passing filenames to the streaming thread.

Trying to play:
2010-10-22 22:54:08.107 [DEBUG][7] Requested file: System.Byte[] (\\nas\mmedia\Filmi\The Last Temptation of Christ\The Last Temptation of Christ_20090909_22100050.mpg)

The error:
2010-10-22 22:54:08.117 [ERROR][7] Unexpected error in streaming thread: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\nas\mmedia\Filmi\The Last Temptation of Christ\The Last Temptation of Christ_20090909_22100050.mpg'

  Skin documentation

Should I be looking at GBPVR documentation for creating my own skin, or is there some NPVR documentation somewhere?

Stuttering audio due to win7 bug (or drivers?)
Posted by: Barsk - 2010-10-22, 08:20 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

I have had some problems with stuttering audio in N-PVR for some time. I did however notice that the problems got worse and worse as time went. And I even got stuttering outside of N-PVR.
I had a suspicion that the OS or audio drivers where to blame since the stuttering got worse and worse, and no restart of N-PVR would help.

So I rebooted my HTPC and stuttering was gone. I am also using the audio patch that sub has dispatched so it may have helped with some of the original glitchy audio problems that others have too.

Now, before I try to find and update the audio drivers, that are now the Win 7 default drivers, I would like to get the input from the community. Is this something that has happened to others? Is there a common problem here with a common solution? I have some suspicions that there may be interrupt problems with the TV tuners and the audio device. But that is mere speculation. How do I test that?

I am on win 7 x64 with Realtec 883 audio.

  Hauppauge NOVA-S-USB2 - Hotbird....problems
Posted by: IanJ - 2010-10-21, 10:10 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hi all,

Just tried a Hauppauge NOVA-S-USB2 and can't pick up any Hotbird 13.0e channels. Tried everything (WinTV7) to no avail.

I know my LNB is aligned ok because I can pick up Hotbird channels using my other NOVA-HD-S2 (PCI) cards and the same software, same PC etc.

Any ideas?...............or perhaps another DVB-S USB box......that will work with NPVR.

Ian.

  Problems watching recordings
Posted by: _Iz- - 2010-10-21, 08:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I had some problems with GBPVR v1.4.7 so I've wiped my machine clean, installed Win7 64bit and NPVR 1.5.33.

Last night I watched a couple of newly recorded shows and had a couple of problems.

Tried to watch survivor. Playback froze when it encountered the first commercial cut. I couldn't bring up the OSD, first time I just hit stop and restarted the show and everything resumed normally until the end. Show didn't exit back to npvr, just froze on the last scene until I hit stop.

Tried to watch supernatural. Again playback froze at the start of the first commercial cut. Hit the OSD button on the mce remote - no dice. This time I tried skip forward an the show resumed playback after the commmercial cut. Rest of the show played fine and skipped all the cut points properly and automatically. Same problem at the end of the show, playback froze on the last scene until I hit stop to return to npvr.

Logs attached.

  Volume control?
Posted by: macgyver - 2010-10-21, 02:24 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (18)

Have we lost volume control with the new NPVR/PCH setup?
Just testing NPVR on my PCH now and I remember it was a late addition to MVPMCX2. Presumably most people use the amp remote but my amp is hidden in a cupboard so I'd need a repeater, which is a bit of a pain.

Viaccess MPEG4 Common Interface with Fire DTV-T does'nt work in nPVR 1.5.33

What command line options does N-PVR support? I'm sure I've seen an update EPG one mentioned but can't remember the exact format?

Live TV Recording Pause etc not working
Posted by: manoj.kollam - 2010-10-20, 10:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi

I am using the Hauppauge PVR 150MCE card. I am able to watch live tv only when the Preview Mode is checked.
I am not able to Record or pause tv Sad. Here is the error from the log

2010-10-21 02:53:43.218 ERROR [7] Error starting live tv recording: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I read in one other post that this might mean the card is not mentioned in the bda.ini. I have checked and find that PVR 150 is not there

I have attached a screenshot of my capture card configuration

Please help

Thanks in advance
Manoj

  Recording randomly stopped early
Posted by: BigMoose - 2010-10-20, 08:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Now my audio is mostly good, I took the plunge to move recordings from GBPVR to NPVR and the first few have been fine. However one this evening randomly stopped 10 mins into the recording (it was meant to be an hour long). Oddly it stopped recording the same minute I started to watch it as it was recording - I started watching it at 2010-10-20 20:10:49.311. I think it went wrong at 2010-10-20 20:09:54.880. It was recording 2 things at once (using the two tuners) and I did try watching live TV for the fun of it to see what it would do, and it correctly told me there were no capture devices. However I wonder if this caused the recording to die? Its not obvious to me from the logs why the recording died.
