  Descriptive Audio Service Question
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2010-10-20, 06:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

How does descriptive audio work? This is the additional descriptive audio for the visually impaired that describes what is happening on the screen ("A man wearing a trenchcoat walks into a dark room"). For the Seattle PBS station that I tune with clear QAM, I sometimes get this audio, especially Masterpiece Mystery. Do I have the wrong audio stream/PID selected in the channel mapping? Or, did the station do something wrong? (Would not surprise me.) I can't verify that this does or does not happen when I watch the channel on TV, I'm pretty sure it doesn't, though.

The channel scan has 2 audio programs for this channel, ID'd as:
106.1 KCTSHD*(000) A:2049
106.1 KCTSHD*(000(AC3)) A:2050

I have the one ID'd as AC3 mapped, all the other channels only have a singe audio program. Should I have the non-AC3 one mapped? I don't need AC3 as I don't use surround sound.

Thanks for the insight folks.

Feature request - viewed recordings indicator

My kids really miss the colored rectangle that appeared beside recordings that have been watched, any chance it will reappear?

  AutoRemoveMissingRecordings setting does not work
Posted by: Barsk - 2010-10-20, 01:29 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I have a problem with moving my recordings. I have an old recordings folder on D:\recordings and a new one on C:\recordings. When I installed N-PVR I first imported all those D: recordings. Later I got a new 1 TB disk which replaced C: and thus I want to move my recordings to C:. The old D: will be reformatted.

I did this:
1) Copied all data to C:\recordings
2) Edited my old GB-PVR recordings-dump.xml to point all paths to C:\recordings
3) Imported
3) Changed recording folder in settings to C:\recordings
4) Renamed the the old folder to D:\recordings-old

Restarted N-PVR service and started up. I did expect that all recordings in the database that were now missing, i.e pointing to D: would be removed according to the AutoRemoveMissingRecordings setting (which is true). This did not happen so now I ended up with double entries in recordings. One entry pointing to C:\recordings and working, and one entry pointing to the old discarded folder, which has no video to show.

Why is the Auto remove feature not working and how can I sort out this problem?

  Duplicate Recordings
Posted by: _Iz- - 2010-10-20, 03:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Any way to stop npvr from recording the same show multiple times if it's already been recorded? The old GBPVR had a "don't record duplicates" option, I'm not seeing that in npvr...

Also, has anyone else noticed that in v1.5.33, the same daemontools iso settings appear on 2 different pages in the configuration options (misc and DVD)?

  McAfee Site Advisor
Posted by: beyonder74 - 2010-10-20, 02:55 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

I use McAfee Site Advisor in Firefox and noticed today that it is showing gbpvr.com as a RED site. When you click on it, it takes you to their website: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/gbpvr.c...er=6.1.0.0

It says: McAfee TrustedSource web reputation analysis found potential security risks with this site. Use with extreme caution.

Nothing on that page says it is bad. Linked to all green sites and no issues with the downloads.

How do I force NPVR to see that I have a dual tuner?
Posted by: smiffypr - 2010-10-20, 01:35 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I'm running N-PVR 1.5.33 and had two USB DVB-T tuners working,
a Nova-T and a cheap generic one.
These showed up in the Devices window as :
WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0)
USB DVB-T TV Tuner

Today I got a dual tuner to replace the generic one, its a Nova-TD stick (model no. 01273)
That shows up in the Devices window as
Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0)
I expected it to show up twice. There doesn't seem to be a way of telling NPVR that it should look for another tuner.

As the new tuner came with a CD, I used that to update the drivers and re-boot the machine.
The old listings in the device window are still there but show NO in the PRESENT column.
The two new listings are:
Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0)
WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0)
i.e. still only two tuners showing.
I have restarted NPVR after every attempt to change anything.

I have searched in the forums but can only find how to configure dual tuners in GB-PVR, nothing which applies to NPVR.

What am I doing wrong?

Client system wakes to update at EPG
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2010-10-20, 01:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I have a NPVR client in the bedroom. I noticed the other night, it woke at 2am.

I checked it out, and the epg update time was set to 2am.
I set this to None, but the system has stll woken up for the last couple of nights.

Will this just go away with time( I was wondering if the requests were put into the windows wake up table, and don't get removed?)

Cheers

Dear all,

could some kind soul point my old brain in the direction for the keyboard entry needed to bring N-PVR back from Full Screen to Windowed mode? I bet it is on a thread somewhere but I haven't found it!

I either knew it and have now forgotten, or never knew but know want to know Big Grin

thanks

Steeb
