I want to record more than one channel on an ATSC tuner. Settings, Devices, Tuner ATSC selected, Device Setup, for the Digital Recorder Settings page. The Selection for Common Interface is not active. This is where I would need to set instances to 2? Can this be done with an ATSC tuner? Do I need to install a plugin? Thanks for the help!
In GBVPR, when I setup recurring recordings - it would search for the recordings once - and then if I cancelled the recording from the pending screen it wouldn't reappear when the EPG was updated every night.
It seems that this is not the case in 1.5.33 - every morning all the recurring recordings I've cancelled show up again. Is this expected behavior?
Looked through the XML etc couldn't see anything obvious. Does anyone know where I can adjust the time on-screen for the programme info. The wife is complaining she's not getting enough time to read it before it dissappears.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a dual DVB-S / DVB-T tuner card for use with GBPVR in New Zealand (ie. Freeview) ??
I'm looking at the Hauppauge WinTV HVR 3000 available from PB Tech et al. Will this do a good job for me? Or is there something else cheaper or better?
- MISSING LETTER FOR AN OPTICAL DRIVE
The autodetect mode is no good idea, if someone is using one virtualdrive (e.g. for isos) and a real drive (for dvds). I have to assign the letter used by dvd playback within nPVR by myself.
- NOT WORKING ISO PLAYBACK
I want to open isos within the videomenu (where all other type of videos are too), but this is not working. Every try to open an iso ends with... nothing. Daemon Tools don't mount the image! It's uninteresting if the iso is on an unc, share or local path.
- BROKEN SETTINGSMENU
In the menu "misc" is a part "Daemon Tools ISO support". The browsebutton don't work, it's not possible to enter the path manual. The driveletter will not be saved within config.xml
- BAD CLIENT PERFORMANCE (streaming, file sharing works very good)
The client loses (short after start) synchronisation of video and audio.
- FM RADIO ON CLIENT
Not really a bug, i think. It's a really nice feature, to hear even fm(!) radio on every client, but... the upcoming "active movie" window, besides npvr itself, remembers me at Windows 95 era and is heavely annoying. ^^;
The client starts to stutter after a few minutes up to 1 frame per minute(!!!). After switching the bufferfile all is working again (for the same amount of time). Is here somewhere a leak? The .ts files within the timeshift folder of the server are perfect. Outside nPVR (local / via lan) they're playing just fine. nPVR is not able to do this!
Moving the mouse over the nPVR windows while watching tv is no good idea. After displaying the osd, the video starts heavily to stutter!
- UNHANDLED EXCEPTION ERROR WHILE ACCESS TO A FOLDER WITHOUT PERMISSION
Because i have childs at home, which are using their own pc, i had structured my moviecollection with a system like parental guide. Of course i can not access my childs to movies which are for people 18+ and so on, so that i restrict the access to a folder containing such media via windows security to forbidden for these "users".
nPVR will display these folders anyway in the library and if someone tries to access this "for this user forbidden" folder, then it gets an unhandled exception error. The best case were, even not to show up such a folder or at least handle the error with a message like "you don't have permission to access this folder".
- WRONG CHANNELASSIGNMENT FOR ANALOG CABLE IN GERMANY
Because my provider "Kabel Deutschland" changed the frequencies for a lot of stations, i decided to built the new channeldatabase completely new. I deleted the frequencies overrride settings in the registry and rebooted the server.
Ok, nPVR is short of tuning capabilities, so i installed WinTV 7.x and made a complete channelscan (germany, analog, cable). I wrote down the stations and channelnumbers and transferred them into the nPVR database. But... nPVR didn't tune properly (i really selected germany cable or antenna) with this channels. There are exactly 4 offsets compared to WinTV: channels +15, +6, +2 and -15 compared to the channels of nPVR. I made an excelsheet, which i will upload and attach later for you to viewing. It was a dirty "trial and error" setup of the channels. ^^
I tried on 6 machines (2x Vista Home Premium 32-Bit, 2x Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit, 2x Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit).
CPUs: Intel ATOM 330, 2x Core 2 E6600, 2x i3-550, 1x i5-760
RAMs: 1x 2 GB, 2x 3.5 GB, 2x 4 GB, 1x 8 GB
Chipsets: 2x Intel G965, 2x H55, 1x H57, 1x NVIDIA ION
GPUs: 2x NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250, 1x ION, 1x NVIDIA GTX 260², 2x Intel Clarkdale HD Video
LAN: Intel 1 Gbit
Used decoders: Microsoft DTV, PowerDVD 10, CoreAVC, AC3Filter, ffdshow tryout beta 7, monogram aac decoder
nPVR 1.5.33 + all available hotfixes from sub
Used renderers: EVR, VMR9 (buggy!!! in combination with various decoders like PDVD10), VMR7 and Overlay
I have been thinking about creating an Android App that is tailor made for N-PVR.
I was thinking of asking Sub to create a webservice kind of API that one can tap for feeding data and events to the app. I am thinking an app which would do the following (at least):
Login to N-PVR's webservice over LAN/WLAN (maybe 3G?)
Work as a full featured remote with extras. Accessing all the functionality a normal remote could.
Access the EPG and select shows to record or view with choice to view on the main display or the Android device.
Stream music and video and even live TV to the Android device
Watch photos
Display tuner status, pending recordings, current TV channel etc
More...?
All this with a pleasing look-and-feel and easy-of-use.
Maybe there are ways to intercept NEWA to get the data I need. But I think a proper webservice type of API is the way to go. I am thinking RESTful and JSON or XML to keep the API lean and effective.
I do think such an API would benefit the community as a whole. Just imagine the kinds of plugins and external apps that can be easily created. Someone with Apple iOS knowledge could build an iPhone or iPAD app easy as that.
I am thinking this as a project to learn Android App development, and as a fan of N-PVR for many years I would probably fine tune this App for a long time to come. I am a Java developer today, so the learning curve would not be that great.
As I remember Martin (mvallevand) started the NMT integration project a while ago as a project learning .NET programming and look where that brought him.
Sub, would this be possible? I guess we would have to work out the specifications of the API. But once the foundation is done in N-PVR, adding functionality to the API would not be that time consuming.
Anyway, ranting aside, what's the best way to store and retrieve settings (in config.xml) that would be stored in the same format as the main menu buttons, ie:
If have existing code from the System plugin (see attached) that can deal with basic string and primitive values, but I'm not sure how to go about handling anything more complicated. I really want to take my existing "Drives" and "Buttons" strings, and turn them into proper elements like the above. In fact, the "Buttons" could be identical to sub's settings, whereas the "Drives" would eventually need a few more attributes added too; something like:
Hi.
I have problem with AR on all local files. nPVR should use AUTO, but AR is always wrong, i need to press F7 four times to fix it.
Stop and start playback, and AR is wrong again.
DVD playback have it even worse, there is completelly black screen until i press F7.
AR is always correct in GB-PVR or if i open video in Graphstudio.
I have previously used GB-PVR with a Hauppauge 150 capture card. I am now trying to use NPVR with a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212.
I'm having some problems with the setup. My main problem is that when I try to test my connection to the HD PVR by selecting Live TV in NPVR a quick message saying "please wait" pops up and then disappears right away, then nothing.
I a noob so would appreciate detailed info on what my settings should be.
Also would like to use mx2xml for channel info, setup info for that would be great.
Lastly, how do I set up Comskip?
Thanks in advance for help. Details on my setup are in my signature. If you need a log file for troubleshooting, where can I find it?
Some of my issues may be related to the length of the USB cable that is connecting my HD PVR to my computer. My HD PVR is in my living room next to my TV and my computer is in the office in the adjacent room and the USB connects via cable runs and wall plates. Total run is maybe 18 feet.
