Would it be possible to show the name of the server machine up beside the date and server time - what with having two live servers and one dev machine and me getting on a bit, I often get a bit confused as to which system I'm looking at...
Recently, for whatever reason, scheduled and manually recorded programs are being recorded (file is created) but there is no data in the file to play back when the recording is finished. I can watch the program while recording but see nothing being saved to the file.
I just installed GB PVR the other day in search of an app that could replace the bloated MCE PVR, and allow me to play content through a Playstation 3. Everything works out well for me except for two things.
1. How do you configure settings related to automatically pruning recorded shows ? Say set a limit so the recorded shows take up 70% of the HD then the PVR drops the oldest show until there is ample space.
If GBPVR can't do this by default does anyone know of a utility that will do this, there has to be one out there.
2. Is there a way to have GB-PVR save the recordings in one folder as opposed to by folder with the shows name ? This way it's easier to find recently recorded shows on the PS3.

I'm having some problems with my update EPG. I'm running 1.4.7 and things have been pretty stable for a while, but frequently my guide data doesn't update right.
my updateepg looks like this:

1. Is the last line required? Or will PVRX2 eventually figure out that the XML has been updated?
2. I have my EPG Updates in the config screen set to run at 4am. So why is my epgupdate log file showing the following runs:

My assumption is this has something to do with mc2xml failing and/or UltraXML hanging, GPPVR never seeing the new XML, and then trying to run the update again.
I wonder if I should empty my updateepg.bat and use windows scheduler to run the EPG updates instead of GBPBR, and just let GBPVR "discover" the updated XML every morning at 445am after running the empty updateEPG.bat
I also tried adding some "taskkill" lines at the beginning of the .bat so that if UltraXML was hung from the last time, it would kill it before trying to run it again.
I'm going to keep poking around with this, but any ideas are appreciated.
Attached is the first release of the command line interface to run auto searches used by NEWA that are flagged for auto-search (set reminders....but there is none at this point) or auto-record (record matching shows automatically).
The wiki has the explanation of what Auto-Search/Record can do as well as how to use this command line programme to run your saved Auto-Searches outside of EWA via your favorite scheduling package.

[Edit] 2011-10-14: Updated to latest NEWA Schedule class which includes day filtering and several bug fixes. Just replace your existing files.
I was just helping a guy in the GB-PVR forum trying to recover his database after he lost his C: drive; after restoring an older backup, he needs to repopulate the old database with his current recordings on his recording drive. We're getting there, I pointed him to the RecoverRecordings utility that will build a new Recording-dump.xml by reading the metadata from all his recordings...
It would have been nice of course if the Recording-Dump.xml had been stored with the recordings instead of with the database; if the recordings drive is lost, you don't need the dump anyway, but if the database drive is lost then the dump is lost with it. Kinda silly. The enterprising among us no doubt have some method in place to copy the backup files elsewhere, but I suspect most users never think of that until sometime after they've lost their database.
It's too late for GB-PVR of course, but perhaps NPVR could be made to store the two backup xml's in the recording path by default?

I've been having a hard time getting this set up. I have Sched Direct working with XmlTv, pulling in the files schedules fine. I don't understand how the batch file to update works. I understand I call XMLTV from it to pull, but when does it run? Does it automatically load the schedule?
That's just where I am right now. I have some rather basic features I wish to use in N-PVR.
Schedule Recordings, including weekly repetitive shows
Once the recording completes, run Comskip to remove the commercials
Then transcode the resulting file into Xvid or DivX
Name the resulting file in clear fashion using Show Title, Season, Episode Number
Place it into a directory, I'll take care of creating NFO's and TVDB stuff
I have an extensive library set up with my existing XBMC(modded XBox, not PC) and another media server. I'll do a weekly processing of the files to pull them into that library, maybe even do some Event Ghost scripts.
Can anyone provide some clear direction on this? I understand the documentation for N-PVR isn't very extensive yet. I try to look at the GB-PVR instructions but this is an entirely new product and it varies greatly. Since I was not a user of GB-PVR, I really have no context to base things off of.
Honestly, with the features in N-PVR, if I get things setup properly, I may end up ditching the XBox in favor of this. I just need to be comfortable with it first.

I have just set up a system on a Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista Home. All facilities work 100% except that there is no sound during live TV viewing or playback, but replaying recordings using VLC produces perfectly normal sound.
I have tried setting the audio renderer to system default and to "Speakers - Toshiba High Def Audio" which is the output shown by volume control in the status bar. All codecs are set to the appropriate ffdshow option.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
