  Comcast and VPN
Posted by: jrockow - 2023-02-10, 07:29 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Recently my IPTV channels stopped working.
Apparantly this is Comcast's doing?
The solution was to first run a VPN.

However, now I get the following error, "Streaming failed (transcoder exited)",
when I try to play a Comcast channel, via my HDHR, while the VPN is activated.

I have loaded NPVR Ver 6.1.1.221106.

I have attached the log; any ideas? Thanx!

Nothing shows in any of the menu sections after upgrading
Posted by: knivesofice - 2023-02-10, 02:14 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

I've been running Nextpvr for months and just decided to upgrade yesterday.

After upgrading I no longer have any text or anything when I click any menu items

for instance I have all the standard menu items on the left side

About
General
Devices
Channels,etc

the menu items horizontally across the top do produce results in the screen below aka Channels, Tv Guide, Search, Recordings

anything relating to settings in the far right or anything on the vertical left menu gives no text just a completely blank black screen

any idea?

Wink Shared buffer between clients
Posted by: danny.bcn87 - 2023-02-09, 04:30 PM - Forum: Docker amd64 - Replies (3)

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to enable any option to share the buffer from the same channel on two or more clients.
My idea is start viewing a channel on one device, then turn on the second device and shutdown the first device.

The current behaivour is that every client has it's own buffer, so when I start the streaming on the second device I can only seek back the stream few seconds (since I started the streaming on the second device)

I'm using the native client for Apple TV and the website.

Regards,
Danny

  Tuner not detected
Posted by: somechap - 2023-02-09, 09:57 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (11)

Thanks for any support with this excellent software. Trying to keep this brief:

Background:
- Moved to new machine
- Win 10 Pro, fresh install fully updated
- New Hauppage DVB-T/2 dual USB tuner, working fully in WinTV
- Latest version of NextPVR Server (at least newly downloaded a couple of days ago!)

Probem:
- The Devices tab of the settings interface of NextPVR doesn't detect the tuners.

Already tried having looked through the forums:
- Manual update of drivers
- Disable firewall
- Different USB tuner (an old Hauppage) - also not detected, known to work with NextPVR on my old Win7 system.
- reboot
- restart NextPVR service.

What should I do next?  Thanks in advance!

  flawless migration
Posted by: andrew - 2023-02-09, 02:52 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (2)

After running nextpvr on a occasionally-updated ubuntu box for about 10 years I finally decided to retire my old hardware and move nextpvr to a docker container on my synology nas. I was dreading the migration, thinking it would be a PITA. After a few minutes of reading on the forums I moved some files, pushed a few buttons and when I was done everything migrated over perfectly. Nice. If only my other apps went so smoothly...

  Jerky Initial Playback
Posted by: MGNut - 2023-02-08, 06:41 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

We've had NextPVR running on a Windows 10 - 32 bit Dell Desktop for since 1/2022.

~90% of the time, the playback of recorded content will start by playing a fraction of a second or two at a time, pausing, restarting. If we let it play 10+ seconds or so, it will typically smooth out.  If we play with the arrow keys, it will oftentimes smooth out right away.

It's pretty annoying.  Any recommendations on how to correct this?

Thanks!!

  Changes to BBC1 HD Freeview
Posted by: Bobbybear - 2023-02-08, 03:52 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (3)

Since Monday 6th Feb 2023 the local Freeview transmitter UK/Central/Brierley Hill made some changes to the BBC HD lineup.
I retuned two TV sets and it changed BBC1 HD to BBC1 WM HD (West Midlands) now it shows the regional programs in HD.
I rescanned my DVB-T tuners but it only finds the old BBC1 HD National channel. (No regional programs)
I have scoured the net for some information on a new frequency so maybe I could modify the tuning file, but I cannot find a thing.
Can anyone help with this please??

  Icon missing
Posted by: rmvanderspek - 2023-02-08, 12:59 PM - Forum: Docker amd64 - Replies (12)

I am running NextPVR on a  TrueNas Scale. Everything is working fine, but for some channels, I don't have icons.

I know that the icons are stored in media/channels.

In there I can find, for example:

Channel: NPO 2

I see there is a file in media/channels with the name: 'NPO 2.png'

When I inspect the html of this channel in my browser, I can see:

Code:
<div v:if="item.channelIcon == true" class="float-right channel-icon-container"><img src="" class="channel-icon"></div>

While in other channels that do have icons, I see something like:

Code:
<div v:if="item.channelIcon == true" class="float-right channel-icon-container"><img src="service?method=channel.icon&amp;channel_id=9550" class="channel-icon"></div>

What's going wrong? And is there a way to fix this?

  Settings menu font issue
Posted by: ceandra - 2023-02-07, 05:45 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

I have put the Windows 10 computer on a 4k 65" TV. The setup for windows defaults to Windows Text scaled to 300%.

Unfortunately, the result is that the text in the right-click menu all overlaps each other and is unreadable.

I can change the font scaling to 100%, and NPVR right-click menu is normal, but then the desktop icons and fonts are too small to be readable.

Running Npvr v6.1.1

Eventually this windows computer will be tucked away and not directly connected to the TV, as we are testing out the Roku app, but until we get used to the limited remote we will be directly connected.

Thanks Chuck

Not downloading EPG for a specific channel range
Posted by: woxofcavu - 2023-02-07, 01:02 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Just upgraded to latest NPVR 6.1.1 (221106).  NPVR configured for Schedules Direct.

The channels 20.1 thru 20,7 are present in the lineup but no programs are shown.  Callsign letters are correct, no network ID present for the channel

Previous version of NextPVR updated the EPG for this channel range with no issues, so might be a NextPVR problem.  I did contact Schedules Direct and they verified they supported the channel lineup, and it should be:

"This is what we have on our side:
20.1: KOXICD "KOXICD (KOXI-CD)" (stationID 128792) (uhfVhf: 20)
20.2: KOXICD2 "KOXICD2 (KOXI-CD2)" [NTDA24] (stationID 128793) (uhfVhf: 20)
20.3: KOXICD3 "KOXICD3 (KOXI-CD3)" [BUZZR] (stationID 128794) (uhfVhf: 20)
20.4: KOXICD4 "KOXICD4 (KOXI-CD4)" [TELE] (stationID 128795) (uhfVhf: 20)
20.5: KOXICD5 "KOXICD5 (KOXI-CD5)" [SHOPLC] (stationID 128796) (uhfVhf: 20)
20.6: KOXICD6 "KOXICD6 (KOXI-CD6)" [LX] (stationID 128797) (uhfVhf: 20)
20.7: KOXICD7 "KOXICD7 (KOXI-CD7)" [METVN] (stationID 128798) (uhfVhf: 20)"

As you can see from the attached screenshot of the guide, the true schedule is missing.   Updated EPG several times.
Appreciate your help.
