  PCH doesn't find MVPMC
Posted by: baj1 - 2010-04-04, 05:37 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (17)

New system, Win XP Pro w/ PCH A100 and GBPVR 1.4.7

I feel like a complete nimrod. Maybe because it's late and I'm tired, but I just can't get over this hurdle.

The PCH powers up and I can browse the network. I see the Work Group (select it), can see the PVR-PC (select it), but the PCH says "no content found on server"

I ran NMTInstall and got the latest files. Simple File Sharing is enabled, as is the Guest Account, and the MVPMC, GBPVR, and media library folders are all shared. I'm stumped.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-Brad

  GB-PVR can't tune my Dvico card !
Posted by: colinnwn - 2010-04-04, 04:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I've got a Dvico Fusion HDTV5 Lite card I'm trying to get running in GB-PVR on standard (not HRC) clear QAM cable. I have installed the Dvico drivers and TV software. The card receives analog and clear QAM channels fine in the Dvico app.

So in GB-PVR "Edit Recording Source" I selected "Digital Recording Plugin", SchedulesDirect", "No Channel Changer Required". I successfully imported my SchedulesDirect lineup. When I try to "Map digital channels to EPG channels", GB-PVR scans through all 135 channels and finds nothing. If I exit out and "show status" with the tray icon, it says the card is "sleeping".

Under the settings for Recording Source, the "Digital Source Configuration" menu, I selected only show devices detected in this machine, "Fusion HDTV5 Lite (QAM)", "Device Number 1", it shows Type:ATSC, "All Countries", "Default Cable Frequencies", everything else is greyed out.

When this didn't work, I reviewed the logs, and noticed that the card had 7 identified tuning spaces, 1 and 2 being analog, 3 and 4 being digital I think. So I tried setting the device number from 2-7 also. All of those device numbers caused GB-PVR to report it was unable to open the card. I did verify that I completely shut down the Dvico software, and even restarted the computer, just in case the Dvico software was somehow locking the card from GB-PVR. That also didn't change anything.

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong? Or do the Dvico cards not work with GB-PVR?

Happy Easter All.

  Draw a Box
Posted by: re-Barr - 2010-04-03, 03:51 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I have been working on modding my blue skin and was wondering how do I draw a box. I wanted to draw a single box that would go behind the main menu items. I know that there is the ability to have boxes around each item in the list but I wanted just one large one for the whole list.

So far I have tried adding a placement in the menu skin and composit images in the menu skin as well as the baseskin. but I have had no luck. What am I doing wrong?

How do I wake up my monitor from a scheduled task?
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2010-04-03, 12:14 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

I am hoping that one of you may have solved this problem, which is probably unique to HTPCs. When a recording (or any scheduled task) wakes the system, the monitor remains in powersave mode. support.microsoft.com/kb/283270 acknowledges that this is an FAQ to Microsoft, but they do not provide a solution; there merely state that this is "by design".

My problem is that I am trying to use graphrecorder to launch a task that will perform video capture. I want to do this automatically, like any other recording. Unfortunately, since the resume is automatic, the screen stays off and the capture fails. I have tried to simulate keypresses and mouse clicks at the start of my script, but these do not activate the screen the way that my actuail keyboard and mouse do.

I'm hoping the somebody knows of a program or command that I can launch at the start of my script, to switch the screen back on.

  Recurring recordings have vanished
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2010-04-02, 10:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Last night, I had occasion to check three recurring recordings in my pending list. This morning, they were all gone. When I looked further, I discovered that all the recurring recordings of a certain type are gone. This appears to be after a guide update.

More detail: I import recordings from three sources depending on the channel: ScheduledDirect, my own XML file from the TVxB scraper, and the embedded DVB guide data. It is only the last type of recurring entry that has vanished; those that came from the DVB terrestrial data directly.

The guide is correct. All the entries are there, viewable and recordable. The entries are also still visible in the "recurring recordings" list. They have simply vanished from the pending list, and are no longer set to record.

While I am at it, I have a similar problem, more frequently but on a lesser scale. Every so often, one instance of a recurring show will vanish from the pending list, and thus fail to record. Usually, if I check the same series the next day or week, it is still set to record; only the one episode disappears.

PC Client not working--but MVP working fine
Posted by: gapgapman - 2010-04-02, 05:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

I had a hard drive failure and upon installing a new hard drive and copying stuff over, I cannot get the PC Client PVRX2 to work. It will open, but there are no recordings shown, and the pending recordings are from 2007--and it won't let me cancel those either. I can pull up videos fine in the video library and they play fine. But nothing else seems to work, including Live TV.

My MVP is fine though--it shows the correct recordings new and pending. It must also be getting the recording service to work, but it successfully records the shows I have in the EPG.

I have been reading through my logs to look for an issue, but can't seem to find it. I have tried all three types of logs, but am not exactly sure what I am looking for.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
