  New ITV HD channel?
Posted by: Pob - 2010-04-02, 04:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Can anyone please post the scan.cache entry for the new ITV 1 HD channel? It launched at 6am today.
I am confused, because the original 'red button' channel still works fine, and has been full-time for the last week or so. So will it continue on two transponders?

  Problems with 1.1.1
Posted by: pcostanza - 2010-04-02, 02:45 PM - Forum: Weather / Weather2 - Replies (13)

After installing the latest version, all I could do was to watch it try to update. The 'updating' stayed on the menu for over 8 minutes. So, I reinstalled....same thing. I then uninstalled completely, removed the weather2 directory and started from scratch. Now when trying to start config I get "object reference not set to an instance of an object". Click ok and another loading error but config starts. Under the plugins tab, there are no plugins showing. As soon as I uninstall Weather2, config starts just fine.
What did I do wrong?

  Still Has Problem with Alerts
Posted by: LewE - 2010-04-02, 11:00 AM - Forum: Weather / Weather2 - Replies (2)

I installed the latest (April 1 version) of Weather2. The good news is that it no longer crashes PVRX2.

The bad news is that it still has problems with Alerts. It gives error message: Error within alert_source.html file. If you want a location for testing that currently has alerts, use Honolulu, HI.

Also, in the PVRX2.exe log there was the following messages. I use the Community skin.

Is prep for UK Terestial HD messing up current scans?
Posted by: Bobins - 2010-04-02, 10:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've just re-scanned my DVB-T tuners on Sutton Colefield and lost my ITV pictures.

In the scan cache:-

T:C44,658166,0,0,8~NID:12294~ONID:9018~TSID:8198~P:8262~V:512~A:650~L:eng~PMT:256~LCN:3~PCR:512~N:>ITV1
T:C44,658166,0,0,8~NID:12294~ONID:9018~TSID:8198~P:8262~V:512~A:660~L:eng~PMT:256~LCN:3~PCR:512~N:>ITV1 (Audio #2)

has been replaced by:-

T:C44,658166,0,0,8~NID:12294~ONID:9018~TSID:8198~P:8262~V:3138~VTYPE:H264~A:650~L:eng~PMT:256~LCN:3~PCR:512~N:>ITV1
T:C44,658166,0,0,8~NID:12294~ONID:9018~TSID:8198~P:8262~V:3138~VTYPE:H264~A:660~L:eng~PMT:256~LCN:3~PCR:512~N:>ITV1 (Audio #2)

I can't get ITV to work with the new scan so have had to manually insert the old scan cache ITV settings.

Has anyone else had similar problems / noticed these changes?

videos library plugin crashes pvrx2 on fanart... cs4 no crash and no fan art why??.
Posted by: tvshowman - 2010-04-01, 08:52 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey,

I have been wondering how can we get fanart into gbpvr so the background changes when we select a movie or tv directory. Currently on my rig the only plugin that supports the full back ground changes are the Videos Library plgun and the default blue skin that comes with gbpvr.

I have found a pretty awesome cover and fanart scraper that works pretty good with gbpvr's recording files and downloads the art without much file changing so a batch is real easy. The picture is in the wrong file name (fanart.jpg vs background.jpg for gbpvr) I decided to scrap some movie directories and change the fanart.jpg to background.jpg and it works well. Creatively you can find a way to batch 100's of directories to background.jpg easily.. anyway

The program is called Ember Media Manager and has options to save metadata and cover/fanart in many formats for various htpc software. get it here
http://code.google.com/p/embermediamanager/

ok so fan art displays fine in the videos library plugin using the blue skin in gbpvr but when I try community skin 4 I get no back ground changes.

A picture says a thousands words so here are the examples of the blue skin and community skin using videos library plugin and I am wondering if the devs plan on adding these features to the skins? Mayham3 also does not take advantage of these features.

Program Plugin not launching MS Games
Posted by: jw100 - 2010-04-01, 05:53 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

When I try to launch any of the Microsoft Games (Hearts, Freecell, etc) from this plugin, I get an error:

2010-04-01 18:14:19.961 ERROR [1] Programs Plugin: Error Launching program from shortcut
2010-04-01 18:14:19.961 ERROR [1] The system cannot find the path specified

If I go to the configured shortcuts directory in Windows Explorer, I can launch them from there using the same shortcuts. Non-MS shortcuts in the same directory will launch OK. What's so different about the MS ones?

I suspect it's because they are 64-bit. Would that make a difference? If so, is there a workaround?

Post-show padding sometimes inhibits ADS metadata
Posted by: cb123 - 2010-04-01, 03:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I am having a problem with post-show padding on two different systems, one running 1.3.11 under XP and the other running 1.4.7 under WIN7x64. If post-show padding is set to one minute and the padding interval conflicts with another scheduled recording then the metadata is not written to the first recording. The first recording stops and the second recording starts at the scheduled time (as expected, the padding is ignored). The metadata is always written to a recording if the padding does not cause a conflict.

To demonstrate the problem, I set post-show padding to one minute and set to record "Ask This Old House" from 0830 to 0900 and then "Yard Crashers" from 0900 to 0930. After the second recording completed, I ran RecoverRecordings to dump the metadata from the two recordings with the following results.

EDIT: RecoveringRecordings.bat can be found at: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...rdings.bat

RecoverRecordings command window output:

Quote:Generating Recording Import data for all recordings in X:\Temp\ to X:\Temp\\recording-dump.xml

The system cannot find the file X:\Temp\Ask This Old House\Ask This Old House_20100401_08300900.ts:metadata.xml.

Done.

No metadata.xml found attached to above files..all others imported.
Press any key to continue . . .

Contents of the recording-dump.xml file generated by RecoverRecording:
Quote:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<recordings>
<recording>
<filename>X:\Temp\Yard Crashers\Yard Crashers_20100401_09000930.ts</filename>

The first recording (had post-show padding conflict) does not have any metadata. The second show (no conflict) does have metadata.

The logs for the above recordings are attached.
