Gb-PVR 1.4.7 does not transcode videos
Posted by: themightygandalf - 2010-03-09, 06:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi there!

I am new to GB-PVR, having installed it a couple of months ago on a fresh Win XP system (see signature) and been running it more or less out-of-the-box since. Thank you for the amazing software, it works great!

I havem though, one major problem - it does not transcode any of my recording to MPEG2, which I specified in the setup, neither does it transcode manually when selecting it in the menu.

I do not know how to fix it or even where to look for the error... any help?

Please find attached the log files. I will be happy to post any additional data necessary if you tell me how.

  Demultiplexing full-ts recordings
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2010-03-09, 12:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

By accident I'v recorded sevral shows with mux-setting set to "full-ts" instead of "TS-mux", how can I easily demux these recordings and get the show I want to a normal .ts file? I beleive they are decrypted.

  Hauppauge card not found
Posted by: vteds - 2010-03-09, 12:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have a new HP Win 7 (64 bit) with a Hauppauge HVR-1290 (same drivers as the 1250 per Hauppauge tech) being fed by Dish Network TV 2 (uses channel 73). I'm trying to set this up as a "fixed channel" but the choices I see listed for analog Hauppauge does not support the 1290 from HP and I did not see the 1250 listed. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  DriveSpeed for Windows 7
Posted by: McBainUK - 2010-03-09, 08:55 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

Has anyone successfully used Nero Drive speed to quieten a DVD drive on Windows 7?

It looks like it isn't Windows 7 aware. Are the any workarounds or alternatives?

  SearchWizX2 installer missing WizGenHelper.dll
Posted by: peabody - 2010-03-09, 01:49 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (2)

The latest SearchWizX2 (1.0.16.1) install is missing one of the dependent dlls (IIRC WizGenHelper.dll) so it will install but then GBPVR's config will throw an error on start up. For anyone who hits that issue, it is in WizDLLs.zip which is easy to get separately:

  Mencoder Win32 download site
Posted by: luttrell1962 - 2010-03-08, 10:49 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Nice compiles of mencoder for win32. I've switched from ffmpeg to mencoder. It handles audio/video realignment better and supports xvid options and 2 pass is much faster. Without reprocessing the files ffmpeg would almost always get the audio off.

Can I create FLV/SWF files from dvr-ms recordings
Posted by: Graham - 2010-03-08, 07:55 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Can I create FLV/SWf files from dvr-ms files that I can play on Wii console? I suspect ffmpeg can do it but I can't find a simple example of the command line.

Plus, I can't find a simple example of the HTML I need to put in a web page to play the file.

Thanks to anyone who can point me at the info that I didn't find.

  explicitly specified padding not honored
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-03-08, 06:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I'm in trouble with the wife again over GB-PVR. I scheduled it to record the Oscars, and also added a 30-minute end pad to the recording since the Oscars always run long. I told it to cancel the shows that it said were in conflict, and figured all was well. Of course, the show went long and GB-PVR did not honor my padding request, so she missed the end of the show. Immediately after the show's scheduled end time, there was a recurring recording scheduled; so it recorded a re-run of the Simpsons at 8:30 rather than finish recording the Oscars (my other tuner was already in use).

This is an error in the scheduling logic. Padding explicitly specified in a one-off recording should be hard padding; it should take precedence over all other scheduling concerns. I shouldn't have to try to out-think the scheduler to get my program recorded.

SearchWiz - how to filter independently on Show and Episode
Posted by: peabody - 2010-03-08, 05:25 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (2)

I just installed SearchWiz but having a bit of trouble figuring out how to define a filter that will match on a particular episode of a show. For example "Star Trek" and "Tribbles" (to borrow from the MovieWiz example I turned up) - the MovieWiz syntax "Star Trek | Tribbles" does not seem to work with SearchWiz. It seems like the filter should have had 3 boxes for strings to match on Title, Episode, and Description.

unable to get TV wonder 650 to work with GB-PVR
Posted by: Hyperian - 2010-03-08, 01:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (29)

I tried following the setup guide from a thread in this site.

i got to the capture sources tab and added a digital source. the recording source is digital recording plugin. the setting for the device type is ATI 650 Pro (QAM). device number 1. type ATSC.

I tried using XMLTV as my EPG but it doesn't look like it has comcast listing for USA pacific region, only directv so i couldnt use it. I tried then to scan for the digital channels but i got no channels.

the coax is plugged into the DTV port of my video card.

if i instead plug the coax into analog port then i could use tuningassistant.exe to get some of my analog channels but i want the digital channels. help?
