  PVR2 front end locking up
Posted by: -Asylum-Skitzo - 2010-01-19, 08:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm finding the GBPVR frontend locks up occasionally.
The first way is whenever the recording service is recording in the background the the PVR2 stops responding.
The second way is more frustrating and I would like it fixed more, I will come back to the HTPC and find the PVR2 screensaver up and frozen. No recording is going on. I get no response when pressing buttons on the remote. If I try to bring up the taskbar with CTRL-ESC I get the Windows 7 loading "wheel" but thats it. Have attached logs from when this has happened, but there is nothing of interest in them.

GBPVR 1.4.7
No plugins
Not using sleep.

Any ideas?

Cheers

  zProcess ffmpeg "Incorrect frame size"
Posted by: meccano - 2010-01-19, 02:41 AM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - Replies (3)

Hi,

1. I've installed zProcess under GBPVR 1.4.7 but I get the following ffmpeg error messages when I try to use it. Is it supported under GBPVR 1.4.7?

2. Is MVPScreenPosition required or not? I did try to install
MVPScreenPositionv91.zip a few months ago but could not get my
MediaMVP to work afterwards so I removed it. Is MVPScreenPosition
compatible with the GBPVR 1.4.7 slick skin?

3. ZToolsSupportSoftware.zip - this contains some files that are older than
the files I already have in c:\windows\system32. Do I need to install your older copies anyway?

  Comskip 80_030 looks great!
Posted by: ga_mueller - 2010-01-19, 02:02 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

Not sure where to post this, but here it is!

I'd tried Comskip with OTA HDTV a couple of months ago (US, CA) with really crappy results (cut early/late, very low WAF). Anyway, I tried it again yesterday and the newest version works great, with zero tuning of the default comskip.ini file, on my area OTA stations, anyway. Just a heads-up for those who have had bad results as I have in the past.

  Using ML3 (nightly) 4 a new ML3 user
Posted by: Jaggy - 2010-01-18, 10:50 PM - Forum: Recording2, MusicLibrary2, SystemStatus Support - Replies (26)

I have a couple of questions about using ML3 from a new users point that I am confused about.

I am confused about the red button random play feature, I would have thought if I changed views to Genre/Album/Track (I think it is) & I highlight a particular Genre in the left column & press the red button it would generate a random playlist for that Genre, like wise if I select an album at the top & then press the red button it would do it for that album, but if I highlight the (ALL) & then press the red button it would then create one for all genres, albums & artists?

To be honest I now have no idea what my second question was  I will post again when/if I remember :o

Lots of 0 length recordings with new HVR-930C tuners
Posted by: caz - 2010-01-18, 08:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi.

I recently upgraded from analog tuners to HVR-930C tuners and have a lot of stability issues with scheduled recordings. I have 3 tuners that I use in DVB-C mode. The instability is there no matter how many or which one(s) I have attached. Using GBPVR 1.4.7 and the latest Hauppauge driver version 5.8.1107.26322.

For mpeg-2 channels my scheduled recordings will start correctly about 75% of the time. For HD h.264 it will start about 20% of the time. When it doesn't work I end up with zero length recordings.

When it is working the recording will be just fine, but it takes a long time from scheduling the recording until the status changes from "pending" to "recording". Starting up live HD tv on my popcorn hour a-110 also takes around 30 seconds when it will actually start. Is this how it is supposed to be or is this just another symptom of my problem?

I attached logs from a situation where the problem was reproducible. I scheduled two recordings and restarted the recording service. The recording on tuner 1 would start consistently and the recording on tuner 2 consistently fail. However, normally there isn't such a pattern ...

Thanks a lot,

Casper

  PQ with HDPVR
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2010-01-18, 07:28 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I'd be interested in hearing from HDPVR users, and what the quality of their recordings are - especially fast moving sports.

I was looking at getting one, mainly to record football from ym HD STB.

  Pinnacle 880e PCTV ultimate
Posted by: Tarni - 2010-01-18, 07:26 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

HI, I am new to GB-PVR, but it was recommended by a friend of mine as being MUCH better than Media Center. Here is my dilemma...

I have an 880e pinnacle, and it works fine with TVCenter pro, but the picture is really crappy and takes up alot of resource when running, as is expected. I was told it might run better on WMC, (or GBPVR) as TVcenter is a resource hog. but when I try to get it to work on either of these programs they dont seem to detect my tuner stick and say I dont have a tuner configured for that program, but when I go through the tuner assistant that comes with GBPVR it doesnt offer my tuner as an option, does that mean it is not compatible?
Thanks
Nik

  MVP/NMT testers needed for Weather2
Posted by: scb147 - 2010-01-18, 06:29 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (46)

I am looking for a couple helpers that have either an MVP or NMT to test some builds of Weather2 for me.

I do not have one of these, but there are problems with Weather2 when an update occurs with them. If you have one and would like to help me out, please let me know.

!! DISCLAIMER !! - These builds may not work properly (but I'm hoping).

Thanks!
