Streaming Problems with HDPVR files and other h.264 AVC
Posted by: persim - 2010-01-18, 06:06 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

I seem to have an issue streaming AVC files. I get sound but no picture. All other types of files seem to stream fine. I have tried using various combinations of the transcode/player options and nothing seems to work.

Using VLC 1.03, EWA 82 and GBPVR 1.3.11. Any ideas for me to try or debug?

Trying to setup a Client Machine
Posted by: bigyoda1281 - 2010-01-18, 04:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (24)

I am at wits end trying to setup my first client machine. Both Machines are Win 7 64-bit. I have turned off the firewall on the machines and even on the router and have shared out all folders.

When I try to view recordings it works fine under file streaming but I can not watch live tv.

I have viewed my logs and it appears like the client and server are not communicating but not sure why. Any help greatly appreciated. I will enclose my logs.

  Challenge installing mvpmcx2
Posted by: cooper43 - 2010-01-18, 04:00 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (38)

Hi,

I have been able to install GBPVR as well as mvpmcx2 on my PCH A110 using the CSI - everything works great. The challenge that this method requires a HD in the PCH and I don't really need one there as I stream all my content from my computer.

As an alternative, I've been trying to use the dummies guide to install using a network share (NMTInstall program - http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38896)

I've followed all the instructions but I cannot see the network share -- running a Windows 7 PC. I think it must be a firewall issue.. but can't figure it out, here's what I've done...

1. Enabled simple file sharing
2. Disabled password protected sharing
3. Created a guest account
4. Run the NMTInstall program - didn't get it to install GBPVR but I did ensure that the windows firewall setup scripts are run.
5. Changes security settings on c:\mvpmcx to share the folder
6. Ensured my PCH firmware is the latest and greatest
7. Changed PCH video to 1080i
8. Disabled any firewall on my router
9. Run msconfig to not boot any other program except GBPVR (to ensure no other software on the PC is creating a firewall)

When I select my PC from the network browser, it doesn't see any shares. I'm totally lost, what could I be missing? I even tried totally disabling Windows firewall and no luck.

thanks,
Steve

  Occasional Live TV Lockup
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-01-18, 01:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Running GBPVR on Windows 7 x64. Occasionally, when I select Live TV, the picture and sound will freeze after about three seconds. I can cancel Live TV, and start it again, and all is well. I've tried different decoders in Config, but that hasn't helped.

  AC to USB Power Adapter
Posted by: McBainUK - 2010-01-18, 12:43 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Looking to get a AC -> USB Power Adapter like this one or this one, that I can just plug in to the wall without the need for a PC. First thing I would use it for is this Samsung MP3 player but in the future there maybe other devices also.

If anyone knows anything about them...

  • Are they safe?
  • Do they "stop" when the device is fully charged?
  • Are they all the same or do I have to match the output rating and so on t the device?
Thanks Smile

  Blind Scan
Posted by: dwaynedibbly - 2010-01-18, 09:40 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi everyone
Can you please look into the ability to perofrm a blind scan of DVB-S systems as well as providing a selection for powering the DVB-S LNB?
I have attempted to modify the text files in the DVB-S source folder while GBPVR program was dead but afterwards GBPVR kept crashing and only worked periodically.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix besides giving me a bullet?
Thanks

  Playback no more
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2010-01-18, 04:56 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (2)

Sorry to bug Martin, but my mvmpcx2 no longer works. I can get to the menu, but when I try to playback a recording (or watch TV) I either get a blank screen, or the playback starts then quits right away. Logs attached (trying to watch TV, blank screen even through file is created.)

Whats seems to be a Codec issue
Posted by: Kiwi-Hawk - 2010-01-18, 01:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (60)

Kia Ora

Having followed all instructions I got the Opus D1 sat into GB-PVR and the channels list showed up and mapped fine,.. it all looked great till I run PVRX2 and tryed to watch live TV,.. it jus blinked,.. so I checked out the TV guide, the channels are all there but all have no data errors..

DVB-SLNB Setup

LNB LOF1 (Mhz): 10750
LNB Switch (Mhz): 0
LNB LOF2 (Mhz): 22500

DiSEqC: none

If I use media center TV One, Two, Maori TV and a couple of others are missing but the rest work if I go way down tyo channels 114, 115 etc

My machine is an intel 3 gig Duel-core 4 gig ram and a 9800 series Nvidia grapic's card runing 64bit win7 newish install so not much on there

Not sure what I missed

When I tried to run some of my video's I found no display, so I loaded the Klite codec pack and set GB-PVR to FFshow and they seem to work, so looks like a fiddle to get one that does all,. but LiveTV still just blinks and goes now where and selecting from TV guide gets me a blank screen in windowed or full screen mode

How do I increase the recording bit rate for hdpvr h264 recordings. The default bit rate seems really low.

Force 16:9 aspect ratio for video file
Posted by: dvasco - 2010-01-17, 03:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (32)

I record HD 16:9 shows with my Hauppauge cards s-video inputs in 720x480 which gives it a 4:3 aspect ratio. When I play them on my HD set I watch them in 16:9 fullscreen. However, when I play them back on my PCH on my 4:3 TV the video is squished. I would like the video to be letterboxed so I that doesn't happen. I use zoom on the PCH with ATSC recordings and I get letterboxing on 16:9 shows. Is there anything I can change to achieve this with the analog recordings? Do I change my recordings to 853x480?
