  more thumbnail mode issues
Posted by: Y0tsuya - 2009-11-20, 12:58 AM - Forum: Video Archive - No Replies

I have associated a thumbnail bitmap with each directory in the video archive. After I drill a few levels down and navigate around for a while VA would invariably start losing thumbnails. I had to restart gbpvr for the thumbnails to be displayed again. Anyone else see this problem?

  File won't play in mvpmcx2
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2009-11-20, 12:35 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (7)

I've never had this issue before, but my wife came across a recording that won't play in mvpmcx2 on the PCH.

It's an ATSC recording (via HDHomerun) that plays fine on my PC via GBPVR. It also plays fine in using the A100's regulare interface (Gaya?). However, attempting to play via GBPVR on the PCH, it just hangs on a blank screen with the program information being displayed. The only way out is to press "power" & restart the GBPVR interface.

Anyone else come across this behavior? I'm not overly concerned because this is the first time something like this has occured, but if anyone is interested in taking a look, I can provide logs & upload the recording somewhere...

I just bought and installed a used x1900 radeon pci express card to watch and record tv. I dont like the factory software so i decided to try gb pvr. I installed the program but tne tuner guide does not include my card. Any that I try say there is a missing crossbar. Am i doomed or am i missing a step in getting this to work for me. Thanks in advance with whatever suggestions you have.

  Question about video decoders
Posted by: andonato - 2009-11-19, 11:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I used the Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility and found that the following MPEG-2 decoders are installed on my system:

ffdshow Video Decoder
CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD8)
MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)
InterVideo Video Decoder

How come only the InterVideo and "system default" options appear in the dropdown list in the config utility? I would like to try some other decoders, as I'm not really satisfied with my picture quality, but can't figure out how to make the others appear on the list.

As an add-on to this question, are there other decoders that I should be trying as well?

Thanks!

  Netgear EVA2000
Posted by: SickBoy - 2009-11-19, 06:10 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Anyone had a chance to get a Netgear EVA2000 working with their setup? This device seems to be something worth investigating. On sale at Best Buy for $100, has HDMI and analog video connectors, and can play files from attached USB or network shares as well as Hulu, Youtube, etc.

Best of all - with the HDMI connector, it seems like it could be used for turning an old LCD monitor into a tuner-less TV...

The only way it could be better would be if it could be hacked to work as a real GBPVR frontend, ala the NMT or MediaMVP.

  EWA whitescreen issue
Posted by: SickBoy - 2009-11-19, 04:56 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (1)

When accessing my EWA in Firefox (3.5) - the initial page comes up but a lot of links, including ones to advance the timeline on the guide, lead me to a non-functional totally white screen. Am I doing something wrong?

Can anyone tell me, is this USB remote receiver compatible with the Hauppauge remotes (say using HIP)?

NAS - just want to look before I leap
Posted by: htewam - 2009-11-19, 02:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I am finally getting around to considering a stand-alone NAS to store/serve photos, music, video, etc. I've been using gbpvr for several years now (storing directly on my pc) but wasn't sure it it could handle recording from my Hauppauge capture cards (PVR-250 & HVR-1600) and storing directly to the remote NAS.

When I searched the wiki and the forum, I felt that I was getting some cross-information so I thought that I would ask directly.

Any key things I need to consider when moving towards a NAS?

Thanks

Vista-Installation ends prematurely directly after Welcome screen
Posted by: leonardo5964 - 2009-11-19, 09:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have been running 0.9912 on Vista.
Yesterday I tried installing 1.0407.

  1. First without deinstalling the old version
  2. Then I stopped the recording service
  3. Next I installed vcredist
  4. Next I uninstalled 0.9912
  5. Next I uninstalled vcredist
  6. I then tried again after renaming the folder devnz in Program Files to devnzold

After every step I tried again to install 1.0407. On every try the installation ended directly after the Installation wizards welcome screen with a message box stating "Fatal Error", "Installation ended prematurely because of an error"

In the application event log of Vista I can find 2 entries. One says installation failed. The second one reports Installation error status 1603.

So I hope someone can help me through the install because I do not know what else to try.

Leon
