I would like to play a Video_ts folder and have found out I need to add some instructions to mount the share in Gbpvr.cgi but I cannot find it.
I have searched locally in the mvpmc and checked the network share of the PCH and the GBPVR program directory.
Please I know it's probably obvious but I cannot find it. I have GBPVR running on my WHS and loaded it from the NMTInstall program, mvpmcx2 I loaded using the Community Installer.
I cannot find the startmeup file either!
In the Video Library I have the .dvd file ready but at the moment I just get a few seconds of the Popcorn splash and then a return to GBPVR.

This is an AU oriented question. I'm a newbie, have got my Hauppage 2200 installed and working across a home network using PVRX2. Problem is, while the scan has picked up all the local channels including SBS and SBS HD, SBS works sometime but a lot of the time it's just a black screen. I know my signal isn't perfect, I'm in the bush, but WinTV always picks it up perfectly - that's the real rub, that Win TV shows it perfect, even HD, with no jitters or pixellation, while most of the time SBS doesn't show on PVRX2. PVRX2 generally is sohowing the other channels ok. I've tried re-scanning and resetting the EPG, I'm running EVR as the video decoder on both WinTV and PVRX2. I've tried disabling the Hauppage TV services, but that makes no difference, and I've made sure that PVRX2 is not running at the same time on any other network computer. Is it just that somehow PVRX2 doesn't use the hardware as efficiently as WinTV?

I have only just “discovered” GB-PVR and after spending a couple of hours searching threads and topics I can’t find any discussion about co-existence.
I have been using VMC for a few months and while it does 90% of what I want and well it has these horrible limitations which can’t be hacked into submission. GB-PVR looks ideal and well suited to my personality. However, almost 100% of the discussion that I have read is based on the unstated assumption of using GB-PVR as a stand alone system.
Could I please ask for advice about a migratory process rather than an all or nothing approach? If I have VMC that works and I like the bits that do work, can I install GB-PVR and start to experience GB-PVR and will that leave VMC un-affected and where it was before the GB-PVR installation? If for example if I get into a little trouble early with GB-PVR, could I go back to the Green Button to watch and record TV a few moments later?
My thoughts turn to the question of should I use Linux or Windows? Until recently that meant either a dual boot or dual HDD’s if up wanted your cake and you want to eat it also. With respect to XP, I could imagine you can’t have MCE AND GB-PVR installed at the same time, but Vista comes with VMC so with Vista I imagine you can install GB-PVR without hacking out VMC, but what about the many settings that taken hours and hours to tweak into submission, the thought of have to start again would be too much.
Someone’s thoughts please?

can anyone guide me how to set Pixelview PlayTV USB 415 settings in GB-PVR.............

When I turn on my HTPC, I have to wait some minutes to log in until all services etc har started or else things will not work properly. I'd like this process automated so that in case of a powerbreak or other event makes the computer restart while I'm away, it starts up and continues all scheduled tasks and so on.

Does anybody know of a way to make this happend without using some software one have to pay for?

Could someone explain to me how what is the tuning algorithm of gbpvr.
I have a problem with Vista’s (not alone I know) tuning algorithm. One of our TV stations (SBS Foothills) is broadcasting with a frequency tag in the digital stream which wrong compared with the physical RF frequency. VMC tunes TV like this: It looks at the designated channel frequencies along with the upper and lower offsets. If it finds a valid transmission it extracts all frequencies tags and compares them with the physical frequency. If any tags are similar to the physical then it assumes that for better or worse that the near tag must be better than the physical so it stores that number in it lookup table. If there is a large discrepantly which could happen with a rebroadcast transmission from a repeater then it disregards this part of the table building process. This latter process (disregarding) is only available with the latest patches. The net result is that SBS can not always be viewed with a Vista computer. There are instances where very non selective tuners will work with this error but albeit not very well.
My question is, if I use gbpvr will it use its own tuning algorithm like most sensible STB’s and digital TV’s or will it pick up M$’s supper smart and (stupid) scanning algorithm? I say stupid because what they do is clever if they allowed manual fine tuning but no M$ can’t trust anyone because they judge others as they assume others might judge them.

I've recently been given a Wireless MVP - Model 86018 Rev H3 Lot 3506. This is setup in wired mode.

I currently own a wired MVP and also a Popcorn Hour.

From the config app I've added another MVP server and started it.

The MVP startsup fine and I can move around GBPVR with no probs.

However when I try to play some recorded TV the screen goes black and then goes back to the GBPVR menu.

I've tried other dongles but no joy.

Anyone have any ideas? :confused:

I am using GB-PVR in Melbourne with a cheap USB dongle based on the E3C EC168 based chip (the Tuner is a Sinovideo SV 3420F DVB-T). I have all channels working in Melbourne (Mt Dandenong) except for ABC2. On ABC2, I only get sound but no video. ABC HD, ABC1, ABC3 are all working including the video.
I am using GB-PVR v 1.3.11 with the ffdshow video convertor (all other playback coders are system default).
I have attached all my log files.
I would appreciate any advice.

Does your program support this TV tuner because it is not detected when I install the software. Will it work with another tuner selection?
