Main Menu Ribbon - Standby Button
Posted by: Babylon - 2009-07-12, 02:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Is there a method to permit the 'Standby' function to be added to the Main Menu Ribbon, or to modify the function of the 'Exit' button to allow 'Standby'. Altenatively, a command line string for the 'Plug Ins' tab - 'Custom Tasks'.

This would greatly reduce the User accidently exiting the GB-PVR application and to Windows Desktop, and also reduce the number of menu keystrokes to place the computer in the 'Standby S3 mode'. Using conventional methods such as "Windows Standby' and Command Line usage of 'SetSuspendState" will not function correctly as expected.

Thanks in advance for your response.

  HD won't record
Posted by: zilwin - 2009-07-12, 01:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am setting up a HVR1950 on a New Dell Vista 64 machine. GB-PVR ver 1.3.11.
I have the capture working and the Program guide set so I can view the analog and Digital programs(set up 2 capture sources for analog and digital from the same 1950).

I have figured out the QAM channel offset and have good analog and clear QAM signals from Comcast. I can view all in PVR2.
I can record analog signals, but the digital sigs say they record but I cannot play them back on either PVR or WinTV 7.

The TS files are present in he storage directory and are huge (19gb for a 1 hr show) so I know they have recorded something. Ironically I was able to record ATSC stuff prior to my getting the QAM on cable to work correctly.

It's probably something dumb I am doing as I am new to this game.

Any help will be appreciated

  How to use Google Movies
Posted by: Mehran - 2009-07-12, 11:34 AM - Forum: International Cinema Listings, RSS Reader, WebCams, Calendar, Files and Screen Saver - Replies (2)

I am in Australia and I only get Hoyts cinema on my GBPVR config section. Hoyts has changed their web site and cinema plugin does not work any more, no trailers no download, nothing. How should I update it to use Google Movies?
I would greatly apreciate any response.

  Microsoft fragmentation display stays red
Posted by: rmorein - 2009-07-12, 03:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

This is a two tuner setup with an AMD 780G motherboard. As the disk approached full, I noticed some stuttering, so I decided to defrag the disk via the Microsoft tool. The process ran to completion, and displays "zero fragmented free space." However, the rest of the disk map is almost completely red, as if the files were still fragmented.

I have never encountered this before. I had always assumed that the residual red after a defrag run was due to very small files. However, the recordings directory should, I would think, be dominated by very large files, hence at the end of the run, the disk map should be predominantly blue.

  Hauppauge device type check
Posted by: CJ_ - 2009-07-11, 09:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I cant get gbpvr to work with Hauppauge PVR350 card as a capture source. I have set up the capture source to use the direct recording plugin and EPG source as xmltv. The xmltv is working and channels appear in the tv guide, but when I go to live TV, all channels show a black screen.

I have also tried the device type check utility and this does not seem to be able to find the card. The log file shows:

21:37:01.453 INFO Log started
21:37:01.453 VERBOSE ECP interface found

21:37:01.453 ERROR Failed to get ECP general string
21:37:01.468 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
21:37:01.468 ERROR Failed to find requested device: Hauppauge PVR150 (instance 2)

The card is working in hauppauge win tv 7. Does anyone have any ideas?

  s-video recording of HD channels
Posted by: dvasco - 2009-07-11, 07:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

s-video recording of HD channels. Has anybody tried this? I know it isn't the very desireable but I am a bit curious how it compares to s-video recording of SD content. Very minimal difference, noticeable, or other?

  Web admin connection failure
Posted by: dennit - 2009-07-11, 03:06 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (15)

I can't get the web admin running. I've tried:
http://localhost:7647/gbpvr
http://192.168.1.xxx:7647/gbpvr
http://<name in hosts file>:7647/gbpvr

The port is correct.

I have no trouble accessing another web server (uTorrent on this machine)

I get this response in the browser from the local machine:

Code:
Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. I get a security error when accessing from another machine.

As you can see, I have GBPVR installed in a non-standard directory, but it seems to be looking in the right spot.

I never see a request to enter the user/password.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Error process cannot access cache because it is in use by another process
Posted by: dennit - 2009-07-11, 01:08 PM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - Replies (5)

I'm trying UltraXMLTV_Enhancer on my new Vista build. I'm getting a message from Vista that "A program can't display a message on your desktop" When I display the message, it's from UltraXMLTV_Enhancer and it's an error telling me the process can't access a file in XML_cache because it is in use by another process.

I run multiple EPG's, for multiple sources, so it sounds like the update batch file is launching UltraXMLTV_Enhancer several times, which is then stepping on itself.

Any comments on either why it can't display to the desktop or what's happening?

The UpdateEPG.bat uses mc2xml twice (for analog then QAM), then uses UltraXMLTV_Enhancer.exe twice to enhance the xml files.

Thanks!

Issues setting up NovaT500 (TV3 Jitter)
Posted by: xanth - 2009-07-11, 09:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hello all.

I live in Wanganui NZ and have recently moved house. Unfortunately, I have moved into an area with next to no VHF reception but good UHF. (My sister lives near by and gets very good Prime.)

So I thought I'd buy a NOVA T 500 and take advantage of the HD capability and have up till now done the following....

1. Purchased a new Nova T 500.
2. Purchased a new 91 Element UHF Aerial.
3. Purchased 6 meters of new 75ohm RG6 cable.
4. Connected everything up as you would expect. (Aerial to Cable, Cable to Nova T 500)
5. Mounted the Aerial on the roof and pointed it in approximately the same direction as most of the neighbours.
6. Installed the drivers from the CD supplied. ( Via device manaber )
7. Added the card to the GBPVR.
8. I had a lot of problems finding channels so in my problem diag, found and downloaded ScanChannelsBDA_UK.exe
9. It didn't really seem to matter what I did, it did not find any channels, until out of desperation, I ran the CD and clicked the install drivers which seemed to enable channels to be found. Humm?

I now can find all the channels you would expect. (tv1,tv2,tv3,tvnz6,tvnz7 etc)

But I'm left with a couple of problems and a question.

Problem 1.
When I record TV3, (the resolution is huge) I get very bad jitter. Whole frames seems to be missed.

Which leads me to my question: When using ScanChannelsBDA_UK.exe, I get a quality of %100 but a strength of -13000. What the hell is strength? What should strength be at?

Problem 2.
How do I play back my TS files on my MVP?

Details:
My GBPVR version is 1.3.11
No Plugins installed

Thanks in advance,
Dave

  USB IR Receiver
Posted by: skippy_nz - 2009-07-11, 08:33 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Hi people Smile

For months now I've been having issues with my Hauppauge Nova S+ receiving remote commands from my other remotes (samsung tv, cheap brand tv, strong sat STB) - after sending my STB remote to Ingram Micro and them sending it to Hauppauge to try and diagnose why my Nova S+ cards are receiving the commands they sent it back to me saying they couldnt replicate the issue - 5 months later i get my STB remote back (yippee) and Ingram sent me a USB IR Receiver - its got TSES-IR01 on the back of it and i think its a MCE receiver because windows sees it as a Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver.

Has anyone got this receiver ? if so what software do i need to use to get Windows to accept the commands ? do i need HIPS or GIRDER or are they one in the same ?

Cheers
