  AAC+ streams on shoutcast/Net Radio
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-07-11, 04:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Anyone know what I'd need to install on my GB-PVR box to play the AAC+ streams from Shoutcast using Net Radio?

Ubustream on the MVP.. anyone using it ?
Posted by: Dave72 - 2009-07-11, 04:14 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

My last attempt at installing Ubustream for my MVP didnt go so well. Looking like I have to do a full uninstall etc.

Does the latest Ubustream work with the MVP in some fashion ?

If I reinstall GBPVR and Ubustream , which method to follow for the Ubu install ?

Thanks in advance.

Running an older version, can't update EPG
Posted by: arking1 - 2009-07-11, 12:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm running version 99.12 ( I know, I know... I should upgrade), can't change my channel lineup, since my cable company changed its channel line up. I tried the "changeEPGsources.bat", but of course it errored out due to it referencing a newer file that my version doesn't have. Does anyone remember how to clear the channels and down load the new line up on the older version?

No Live TV, TV Guide or manual records on Vista
Posted by: dicas - 2009-07-10, 09:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hello.

I am an old user of GBPVR and, at the moment I am running 0.9.3.10 in an nold XP machine using an ATI550pro with no problems for a long time now.

To be honest, all I do is view and record TV on that old machine and GBPVR does the job wonderfully.

Having aquired some time ago another ATI550pro, I decided to install it on a more recent PC with Vista and install GBPVR as well, to go on viewing and recording the same way, so that I could upgrade and reinstall the system in the old machine with no interruptions in my recordins.

The new(?) PC configuration is (well, it is a couple of monthes old, to be honest):

Intel Core 2 E8400, 4GB RAM, Asus P5K-E, Ati 550 pro, Vista Ultimate 32 bits.

It runs TV on Windows media centre and Nero Home with no problems, but I do not like either very much.

I installed GBPVR 1.3.11, left all the defaults and after configuring the card and adding some channels, entered the main menu to discover that Live TV, TV guide and Manual Recordins just did not work, I mean, nothing happened when I clicked the first two, and was sent back to the main menu when choosing Manual Records.

I gave the forum a look and as a result I installed vcredist_x86 with no results, I think it wouldn't be needed, but, just to be safe...

Then, looking further on, and not being familiar with this new version, I noticed that my config stated that the supplied dongle would not work with Vista, so I downloaded the alternate one. I know, it is silly, but it is not hard to try if you do not know very well what you are doing.:mad::mad:

Well, it worked!!!! I could enter Live TV and all the rest, I made some recordings, added the rest of the channels and I thought I was in paradise, everything up and running.

It lasted untill I rebooted the machine, today I have the same problem again, no Live TV etc.

Could someone please help me by giving a hint where to start debugging? I am a rookie with these new versions of GBPVR and I really need some help.

Something is wrong, but, where to start?

Thanks in advance.

Suddenly recordings failing and going into wrong directories
Posted by: BrettB - 2009-07-10, 03:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

All of a sudden last night some of my recordings began failing for no apparent reason. And then tonight, 2 records (30 Rock and David Letterman) got put in the "Manual Recordings" directory instead of directories of the show names.

As far as I know, I haven't changed anything related to GBPVR in quite a while. Definitely not in the past 2 days!

I've uploaded a zip archive of my logs directory. If anyone sees any cause for the failures, please let me know.

Thanks!

how to make GBPVR zoom 10%, 20%, 30%?
Posted by: imagn - 2009-07-09, 06:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I see that my SD QAM recodings are mostly being transmitted in 704x480p resolutions, When watching through GBPVR on my 42 inch HDTV, it has black borders all around it, it looks like it is being displayed at 16 x 9 but at a smallers resolution so it ends up looking like a 37inch picture on 42 inch screen with black boarders.

Is there a way to zoom the picture so the black boarders dissapear.

  Force EPG Update
Posted by: pbb - 2009-07-09, 12:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (63)

I know I've seen the details on how to do this previously, but I can't find them now. The Sci-Fi channel has changed their name to "SyFy". With the new name came a new channel in my EPG for SyFy as channel 79. Originally the SciFi channel was channel number 45. The channel number hasn't changed, just the name. I got the channel information fixed in my capture sources (I'm using Schedules Direct by the way) by deleting both channel 45 and 79 then clicked the "Empty EPG" button and then the "Update EPG" button. The problem is I still see channel 79 in my guide and I do not see channel 45. Isn't there a way to force the guide to update?
