I have been playing around with about 1% of UltraXMLTV_Enhancer abilities in order to simply add the film rating (PG,12, 18 etc) to the description field. (so I can check if a film is ok for the kids to watch)
I couldn't seem to get it added at the start of the description but I eventually worked out how to add it to the end by using only [[description]] and rating in the desc. fields. Great!
Only I now realise that UltraXMLTV_Enhancer has only written the basic xml fields to the new xml file. Specifically, this means that I have now lost the star-ratings info.
How can I write out the rating added to the description and export the star-rating field "as is" to the xml file.
or even
Is there a way to get UltraXMLTV_Enhancer to output the xml file as it was, only with the rating added to the description?
My over the air digital epg only gives "no show details" now. It has worked fine until the last time I tried to update. I am using mc2xml for six channels, 4,6,8,13,20,59. Watching the cmd box during update, only 194 bytes are being downloaded. If I remove the .chl file in the epg folder, 5meg is downloaded but still no show details. I have been using the .chl file all along.
I did an update from the config and have attached the files that Whurlston requested from marble.
I am using mc2xml for the analog side (brighthouse cable) and it still works fine.
The current bda.ini settings (TerraTec Cinergy DT USB XS Diversity pure1) for this tuner only utilize one of it's two DVB-T tuners. The current settings read as follows
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Cinergy DT USB XS Diversity Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Cinergy DT USB XS Diversity Digital Capture (Dev1 Path0)"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
In addition to these, shouldn't there be another set with both filter_tuner and filter_capture pointing to (Dev1 Path1)? Would this work or does using the second tuner require more work?
I was wondering about sending my PVR to sleep when it's not busy, but don't really see much mention of how GBPVR interacts with Windows to
Ensure that it wakes up for scheduled tasks.
Not go to sleep when playing a recording.
Not go to sleep when recording something.
It would be helpful to get some guidelines on what hooks Sub has already put into the system to prevent suspend/hiberation and how some of the utilities available behave.
Oh yeah, and it's time for a new release -- been six months!
I installed the mvpmc install to try to get GBPVR onto my new Popcorn Hour and now I can't get either config or PVRX2 to start - I get a "... has encountered a problem and needs to close." error.
config log says something about Name cannot begin with the '8' character:

The PVRX2 log is empty.
I have temporarily replaced the config file with the 'do not edit' version, reinstalled .net 3.0, checked vcredist_x86.zip - hasn't helped.
I have a bookmark to http://forums.gbpvr.com/ and half the time when connecting to the forums Firefox gives me an error asking me if I spelled it correctly like ww.something.org instead of http://www.something.org. There's a retry button there that works every time.
I don't ever have any DNS issues with any other site. Anyone else seeing this? Wonder if http://forums.gbpvr.com/ resolves to something different on different days and my DNS is returning a cached value?
Not a big problem since the retry button always works but I always like to understand things.
Have a funny feeling Im completely overlooking something here, but when adding content in the moviewiz manager, i am
1) in the settings tab, selecting "Process Subdirectories"
2) in Add content, selecting "location = D:/My Movies/", then "Locate new content"
3)selecting all, then clicking on "Load"
The movies and images are located and imported into the database but I cant seem to get the xml files included, and instead wants to source this info online. Am I able to force my existing xml files to be loaded into the db??
Note : existing xml data created using wizmetadatagrabber. Can this utility (wizmetadatagrabber) be used to embed the xml data I already have into the video file, which can then be read by the moviewiz manager?
I would like to be able to watch the live broadcasts of the Tour de France on ITV4 but this is only available on Sky via the 'red button' service (ITVi?).
I have the ITVi Quad channel setup but when I view it I can see the four screens but I don't know how to select a particular one.
How do I select one of the screens or do I need some specific tuning entry for my bda cache file?
PVRX2 locally, and via the MVP 'were' working ok.. (well, a few issues, but work in progress etc)..
I tried installing UbuStream. Between the wiki, Ubustream's rtf file and forum msgs (and crosslinks between em all).. I think I might have confused the installation.
Even with an uninstallation (of Ubustream) now, any time I approach the gbpvr config application, I cannot save it.. "Database locked" error. I tried a reboot of the pc, and same thing. Now Pvrx2 wont even run locally on the pc (but the mvp worked last time i checked anyhow..).
Today all my recordings disappeard form the list, past pending and recourring. MyTV Guide s also blank which explains the pending. My Schedule Direct account was renewed last month. Manually updating the EPG guide I got an error that the account wan not set up properly. I verified the account credentials. I tried reimporting the shows and it says they are alredy there. I verified the directory structure and the presence of the recordings. Both Avermedia 180 tuners work fine. Im on the older version because i don't have the horsepower to drive the new UI. Version 1.0.16. This has worked well for about a year untouched.
