  Looking for GBPVR09112b.msi
Posted by: pmularien - 2009-06-23, 06:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Looking to upgrade an install of GB-PVR I did several years ago, but I've lost the installer. Anyone happen to have a copy of the MSI file? GBPVR09112b.msi

The new version fails on install, and I'm hoping it's because I have the older one already installed. Thanks in advance!

Playing .mov files from Video Library plays, but no sound
Posted by: mkenyon2 - 2009-06-23, 06:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

So, I put some .mov files from my camera into the system, and find them through Video Library, I see the movie, but no sound.

If I try from the same system to open the file, letting Quicktime run it, it works fine.

I'm guessing it's a codec issue. How do I tell GBPVR to use the right codec for these? What would be a good codec?

  Noisy recordings on PCH
Posted by: OrakelJos - 2009-06-23, 11:50 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (10)

Since I upgraded to the new software from June 4, recordings shown om my 16:9 TV (HDMI connection ) are noisy/grainy. Menus are sharp, so just the recordings give problems. Have upgraded also PVRX2 and GBPVRRecordingService as instructed.
Settings in startmeup are /etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -m 1080i --frequency 50 &, on the A-110 also 1080i 50 and in config.xml:

<MAC-0006DC43BC2B>
<MVPSendIncrementalUpdates>true</MVPSendIncrementalUpdates>
<MVPClientType>PCH2</MVPClientType>
<MVPWidth>1232</MVPWidth>
<MVPHeight>688</MVPHeight>
<MVPOffsetX>24</MVPOffsetX>
<MVPOffsetY>16</MVPOffsetY>
<MVPTranscodeTS>false</MVPTranscodeTS>
<MVPTranscodeAVI>false</MVPTranscodeAVI>
<MVPTranscodeWMV>false</MVPTranscodeWMV>
<MVPTranscodeMKV>false</MVPTranscodeMKV>
</MAC-0006DC43BC2B>

Recordings are made with two Hauppauge PVR500MCE's. The same recordings play correctly on my two MVP's. Has anybody any clue?

  5 minute freezing
Posted by: DarrenJ - 2009-06-23, 11:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

heya
I've got a really strange problem. At about 5.15secs into playing a recording on gvpvr 1.3.11, the picture freezes and I have to exit the video and restart it (gets a big laggy for a few secs exiting out). 5 mins or so later, the same thing happens again. Sound continues fine though, even though the picture is 'frozen'.

It's a new clean install of Windows Vista 32bit. I had GBPVR running previously on the same machine with same codecs with no issues.
I re-installed again (managed to stuff something up on the previous install), and everything is fine, except the 5 minute problem. I'm using the same config file as before, same codecs, and even did a line by line comparison of my old config and new. no difference. I've changed TS settings, codecs, etc.. But no solution after 3 days of trying to resolve it.
It does not occur on watching LiveTV unless I am recording at the same time.
Log files are set in debug mode, and they are not showing anything that could indicate an issue.

Anyone got any ideas? Really pulling my hair out cos I love gvpvr..unfortunately wifey is not loving me at the moment :o

Installed is vista with all updates, pdvd8, haupaugge Nova dual tuner with v1.1d of it's driver software, and a cat warming it's backside on the PC case.

thanks Smile

  New Zealand DVB-S issues
Posted by: darthmeow - 2009-06-23, 11:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi there.

I'm fairly new to all of this, though I was able to at least get my DVB-S setup in GB-PVR and working without a hitch ... sort of.

I've got two problems I just can't figure out. One, for some reason the channel scan will no longer pickup Sport Extra (in NZ, btw) on the TVNZ frequency, and number two is a recording issue. Some recordings are fine, some aren't. The ones that aren't are exhibiting an issue where they are fine for about 10 seconds, then they sprint ahead, play a few frames, sprint ahead, half a frame, sprint ahead, maybe quarter to half of a frame (if I'm lucky). Playback of the output TS file from the suspect recording in Media Player Classic plays back fine ... except for every 10 seconds there's a sudden burst of "blocky picture" and a blip of audio compression squeak. Live TV is perfectly fine and this is only affecting some recordings. It's driving me nuts ... and caused a miss of outrageous fortune but meh, TV3 have it online at least Wink

Capture board is an AverMedia A700 based hybrid dvb-s + analog card. Is there perhaps something I've done wrong somewhere in the setup?

  What is PCH2
Posted by: reyn - 2009-06-23, 07:55 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (9)

I have managed to install GBPVR using the NMTInstall program and mvpmcx2 using Community Software Installer and after clearing the A110's cache using Maintenance menu and Filemode (on the remote) clear cache appears at top right of screen. I mention this because it took a lot of searching to sort it out.
Anyway enough boasting, my question is what is PCH2 mode and do I need it?
I saw a checkbox when I installed something which said something about Advanced or Extended PCH is this it, if I do need it can I just go back and re-install mvpmcx2 or will that cause problems. I am very loath to alter anything now I have it working.

FiOS Router causes QAM scanning failure
Posted by: Ted the Penguin - 2009-06-23, 05:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

This is just for information, for anyone in the US with FiOS.

I had problems with QAM signal quality when my router was on the same 1->2 splitter as my 2250, it also caused random crashes while scanning. When I moved it to a different branch of the cable network (separated by probably 3 splitters now) everything worked fine.

Hopefully this will save someone the grief that I went through!

cheers!

streaming live tv stops as soon as it starts
Posted by: Quintin - 2009-06-23, 05:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Hi All

i have read a few other threads about this issue where the client will start live tv and stop it immediately but the response wsa that there had to be a FW in the way. in my case i can assure t his is not the problem.

i have 2 test XP machines side by side with clean installs and i can only get tv to the client in file share mode.

when in streaming mode the tv stream stops as soon as it starts. often not even long enough to get the OSD. sometimes i get the OSD but no picture - either way it is very fast.

i am using the latest GBPVR, .NET 3.5, all FW turned off. logs are attached, any help appreciated.

could this be related to the capture card that i have? its the Compro T300. note that the capture card only seems to find half of the channels available to my area but im assuming this is an unrelated issue.

all help appreciated thanks!

  PVR-150MCE timeline issues with 1.3.11
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2009-06-23, 04:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Some recorded shows have a bad timeline, others don't, e.g. 1 hour show displays a timeline of 40 minutes. I believe I applied all Hauppauge patches, but could be wrong. I couldn't find anything with searches that would allow me to check.

  HDHR 617 beta
Posted by: pcostanza - 2009-06-23, 12:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Anyone try the latest HDHR beta yet? I see that when choosing the application, you no longer have 2 choices (ex. GBPR/WMC). No you choose the main app and the preview app.
Just curious if this latest firmware update is working with GBPVR ok.
