I recently updated gbpvr from 1.2.9 to 1.3.11 and noticed that I lost both channel numbers and logos in the guide (down the left side of the screen).

Some History:
1) I use mc2xml for EPG info
2) Used the ChannelLogoTool for getting logos to display
3) After update, logos still display in the program information overlay (where I can choose to watch or record a show).
4) Prior to update, I backed up my gbpvr.gb3 and config.xml files, and have resorted back to them when I noticed this problem.
5) I have changed the <TVGuideChannelHeaderType>3</TVGuideChannelHeaderType> line in the config file from "3" to "0" and "1" to no avail.
6) I'm using a modified default skin, so the only thing I haven't tried, that comes to mind, is changing back to the default skin, or try some other skins and verify that at least channel numbers and names do, or do not show.

Anything else that may come to mind that could help out here is greatly appreciated.

One other question outside of this problem. I download the EPG info, and my xmltv.xml file is just under 60 megs in size, but after gbpvr imports/updates, the xmltv.xml file in the gbpvr directory is over 100 megs in size. I don't use any enhancers or anything, so I'm just wondering what gbpvr does that increases the xmltv file by 40 to 50 megs?

Hi, according to the blurb on the box, with this dual DVB-T tuner card I can "watch one channel, record on another channel" or "record on two channels".

However, when I'm using GB-PVR I've discovered I can record on up to 5 channels at once.

The Recording Status shows both tuners, having scheduled five manual recordings, it has one recording on the first tuner and the other four on the second.

I've checked and all recordings are complete.

My question is; is this normal? Is this the standard functionality of GB-PVR? Have I missed an important readme about it, and if so where?

I recently reinstalled Windows and upgraded some of my hardware. And now it seems like all I have is problems. I know some of them are decoder issues, but some of them aren't. What are the recomended decoders?

I have the Cyberlink and Purevideo decoders installed. I was using PureVideo exclusively on my old box with no issues. I used whurlstons post for integrating the registry settings for the cyberlink decoder.

1) Live TV: Sometimes, works but often not. I get a black screen and then after about 10-15 seconds it kicks me back out to the menu.

2) I have ripped DVD's to the hard drive and it will play them with two issues. (Old box had no issues) If I use PureVideo the top half of the screen is color and the bottom is black and white. If I use the Cyberlink then it displays fine, but once I hit enter to play the video I lose ALL remote functionality. I cannot stop, start, pause etc. I am using a harmony to the MCE IR receiver, I even tried the MCE remote and it did the same thing.

3) I have the 2250 configured as 2250a-1, 2250a-2, 2250-1 and 2250-2. The "a's" denote the analog tuners. Along with the PVR150MCE that I still have in it, I can still only record 2 analog shows at a time. When two are recording it shows its using the 150 and one of the 2250a's. If I tell it to record another, it says there is a conflict. How can I make it "see" both analog tuners on the 2250 board?

4) Recorded TV is working well. Any channel above 20 looks great, anything below that is all fuzzy. Using the same splitter and feed cables from before. Could this also be a decoder issue?

I have zipped and attached logs after trying to record 3 shows at once in hopes that it will help.

Is there anybody that is toying with the idea to create a Spotify-plugin for GB-PVR??

Spotify is a Great music service that is launched in most of Europe, with the main bulk of users in UK and Sweden. If you have an account (Theres a free version with ads and a Premium version for paying customers), all music is free, legal and is streamed to the listeners. It is possible to search on artists, albums, songs and genres. It is easy to create playlists and to share them with other users.
Since I got my account, I have stopped downloading music almost entirely. No need anymore, almost everything is present in Spotify (well, some black holes exist as Metallica, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and some others who refuse to allow their music to be streamed).

It would be great to have the ability to interact with Spotify inside GB-PVR.

In the "Edit Recording Source" window, I have several channels not activated because the xml file has redundant channels, and because there are some channels I don't care about. But, they're still showing up in the TV Guide, and sometimes the redundant channels come up and make things cluttered. Can I get the TV Guide to hide those channels?

I understand that plugins and submodules for GB are developed by volunteers (correct me if I'm wrong, please). However, cards like the Avermedia Duet A188 are not exactly new. It's supposed to be very good. This is why I'm adding it to the wish list. Then I could donate. Now I cannot, since I'll have to buy some commercial software for it. What a pity that support is mainly afforded for Hauppauge cards. I agree, they are, presumably, the most major manufacturer, but Avermedia is on the market with many products as well. I am NOT an Avermedia fan, since the Duet A188 is my first card ever and I was very disappointed that I couldn't put it to work right out of the box.

In my correspondence with the Duet's product manager (a very helpful gentleman), here's what his answer to my problem was:

1. Will it work with GB-PVR? (deal braker)
Felix: Ideally it should work, AVerTVHD Duet drivers are based on standard Microsoft driver architerture and if GB-PVR based on this, it will work, personally I have not try it (yet). If not, ball on GB-PVR side, I can provide them with sample/support. In pass all of our cards support by GB-PVR."

I'm using Hauppauge HVR-1600. When I tried to mapp the digital channels to EPG channels at "capture sources" tab, I got this error message: "The microsoft MPEG-2 Demultiplexer does not seem to be available on your machine. don't ignore this error, BDA support will not work with out it." When I ran MuxChecker, I did see this message:

"GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

What am I doing wrong?

My EPG was working fine using mc2xml until very recently. At one point, it was just suddenly cut off and had no data for anything at all, but I deleted mcs2xml.dat and xmltv.xml and then reran mc2xml.exe.

That worked, except now three channels list "no show details" in the EPG, and I can't figure out how to get them back. I can see the channels listed in the xml file, but it's just not showing up in GB-PVR.

I tried once again deleting those two files and rerunning mc2xml.exe, but it doesn't make any difference. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Feature in skin design
Possibility to, in the main menu skin, adjust, decrease the zoom level of the active button size.
If I want to make a skin design with not so much "zoom" I have to decrease font size so much, so the font looks really ugly (pixelated) when show in GUI.

first and foremost, i would like to thank all those who helped me setup my GBPVR especially MTP and chris for the bat file..... thats many of you guys with the info you post on this board, you helped and didn't even know it.

my biggest hurddle was to get the MCE ir to blast the channels correctly... i could get the HD-PVR to record, but often times it was the wrong channel.

here's what MTP helped me with..... he was able to determine that the drivers provided with microsoft were mainly the problem. i attached a file that saved me..... from that file you have to pick the one that best suits your situation (CPU/64bit/x86)

now the tricky thing is that in W7 it requires that all drivers have to be digitally signed.... the work around is as follows, reboot the computer, press F8 while it is rebooting, there will be a screen that pops up with some options, select the option that allows you to install drivers that are NOT digitally signed. your computer will boot up as usual, then you can install the new MCE ir driver. once that is installed, setup the blaster as usual and it should work....
