  v1.3.11, HDHomerun and tuning problems
Posted by: durali04 - 2009-05-21, 02:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

GBPVR v1.3.11
HDHR soft/firmware version 20090415
WINXP Professional with Service Pack 3
No firewall running on PC

Followed wurlston's setup doc here exactly, and it did not work at all. What kind of works is setting the application in the HDHomeRun Setup utility to Other:ATSC Remap.

Now what doesn't work is that I can start pvrx2 and start watching Livetv station, I can change channels. But when I exit livetv for any reason and try to go back to livetv, it fails to a black screen with the following message:

"No Signal Detected. Please be sure that the antenna is connected or that the antenna signal is strong enough."

If I exit pvrx2 and restart it, I can then tune and scan to other channels as long as I stay in livetv.

Tuning is fast, picture is great. I'd love to fix this.

  Video on Windows 2008
Posted by: Paul_B - 2009-05-21, 12:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all,

I've read a couple of threads about Windows 2008 server and I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction?

To date I've got GBPVR installed, the Hauppage 64bit drivers and the BDA files from Vista 64bit (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=114549 BDA driver install util for W2K8).

I've been able to use the Config.exe and it picks up my Nova-B card. The EPG is downloading successfully and a scan is picking up channels and associated information. However, video does not appear in the thumbnail window nor does it appear in LiveTV or Recorded TV.

From the above I'm assuming my capture card, drivers and BDA setup are all fine but my video is possibly missing codecs?

Paul

  Set Chapter Points in Recordings
Posted by: LewE - 2009-05-21, 12:11 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Currently, if we watch part of a recorded show and then go back to it we have the option to RESUME to the last point. I would like to have the ability to set multiple "resume" points. I have seen these called "chapter" points in other recorders.

Being able to mark the points and even label them would be best. I see two possible uses for this.

A: Set points in movies to be able to jump to in later viewings.

B: In a family with multiple users, each could set their own "resume" point independently.

  Diseqc ver. 1.0 with twinhan dvb-s sp-ad300
Posted by: Nymann - 2009-05-21, 09:14 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hi all

Cant get the card to switch between pos A and B. it always sets lnd A in the Diseqc. If i change in the config to B it dosent matter. I use the twihan driver 1.03 and gbpvr 1.0 "welltonway version".

Is there a way to configure this or how does it work??

The diseqc i use is a Triax MFD 21D. I can change on the diseqc between tone burst and 22khz tone switch.

Hi,
I have tried so many things that haven't changed the tearing I get - at about the top 1/5 of the screen.
Has anyone got a ATI 9250 card to work for SD without tearing? if so please tell me your secrets?
thanks

  WizImageGrabber Not Creating Placeholders
Posted by: BrettB - 2009-05-21, 05:07 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (5)

On my system, WizImageGrabber is not creating placeholders. When it runs, it displays the parameters and there it shows that the parameter is set to true. And I don't get any errors. When it finds new images, they do get created, just not placeholders. And it finds the existing placeholders and skips those during the lookups.

Any ideas/suggestions?

  GB-PVR with POPCORN A110

Hello, everybody,

I am follwing the wiki about how to setup the PCH A110 with GB-PVR, but I am not able to start the application in PCH A110. Screen get black.

I put some traces in the in the startmeup

/etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -m 1080i > /etc/mvpmc/startmeup.txt &

And I get the following !!!!

cat startmeup.txt
DFB: tv mode 18
vmode 18
hdtv50 1280x720
Couldn't set property RMDispMainMixerPropertyID_LayerOrder for module 12: RM_ERROR

Any idea about what can be the problem ?

I put a sniffer in the GB-PVR server and I don´t receive any tcp/upd packet, so it seems problem is in package mvpmcx2

Any idea ?

moved home and get nothing on nova-T
Posted by: fluffykeith - 2009-05-20, 07:45 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

Hi

I've been happily using gb-pvr and recently moved house.
Aerial points to a different transmitter, and now I can't get any channels.

The transmitter list in the config I think does not list the new one but surely it would just scan the frequency and find stuff.

I've not changed anything else - just unplugged and moved. The signal here is ok - the digibox works fine and i've stuck a booster on just in case but nothing at all.

Any ideas how to retune to a new transmitter would be great as I thought it was just a case of rescan.

cheers

Keith

  My 2 cents (Problems) ;)
Posted by: dalabera - 2009-05-20, 02:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Yesterday finally I was able to enjoy GBPVR to its full extent since having problem with my audio and codecs configuration. Using an HVR-1600.
Just having to main issues:

1- If watching an Analog channel and tune to a HD channel or Viceversa, specially a 720p or 1080i the screen goes black . I have to hit escape then live TV. I guess someone will say is the is the video decoder, but I have tried with almost all of them and same thing happens. Using Cyberlink PDVD8.

2- On some HD channels I get some video freeze and some overlapping frames. I guessed this is because the video signal is not perfect and it's something happening on my side, However looking at my motorola stb box, this not happens. Is my opinion they use some kind of buffer to receive all the frames and stream it to the TV, so they are always behind seconds of the original transmission. Maybe this is something SUB can comment about.

Thanks,
