Failure of recording to initialize properly resulting in a 64k file
Posted by: All Steamed Out - 2009-04-28, 03:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi to all,

I regularly get a recording failure where the task bar icon remains permanently green and the resulting file is 64k.

This has occurred through multiple versions and through two machines (same Sapphire Theatrix 550 PRO).

The most annoying thing is I have to re-boot the entire machine to get it going again. Or, at least I haven't found a way to make it work again without rebooting. Is there a way to re-start the software and have it fully functional?

Also, has anyone else had this odd failure. It occurs regularly and to get around it I always schedule a 1 minute recording right after I boot the machine to check that it has initialized properly

Any help would be appreciated.

  windows 2000 drivers for pvr-150
Posted by: Hav0kc - 2009-04-28, 02:12 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I know this probably isn't the right place to ask for this type of help but I am waiting for Hauppague to answer my email so I thought I might ask here for a quicker answer.

I just got a newer machine running windows 2000 and I am trying to get my PVR -150 working. I know it works as I was running mythtv. I want to make the switch to gb-pvr but I cannot find the drivers for windows 2000.

The drivers on the Hauppague site do not list windows 2000 as a OS for the driver package. I did try to use them incase it was a typo but the driver installer error out with "this is not a valid win32 application".

I would appreciate any help.

  SlimmGBPVR: Four questions to Slimm
Posted by: dero - 2009-04-28, 08:00 AM - Forum: Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli - Replies (2)

Guys,

I have five questions about the great SlimmGBPVR:

1. How can I map the Exit-Button in GBPVR to Slimm's hibernate?

2. If I initiate a manual hibernate, e.g. using the power-button, and Slimm catches this one, will Slimm then go into delayed hibernate?

3. If Slimm is in delayed hibernate mode, is it possible to leave that mode? E.g. will it be left if I move the mouse or press a key?

4. Assuming a recording starts at 10 AM and I am doing hibernate at 9:59:50. Will the computer go to hibernate? Or does Slimm have a pre-recording avoid-hibernate interval, so that e.g. the computer does not go to standby x minutes before a recording starts.

5. Does Slimm also catch hibernates if EPG is being updated or only for recordings?

Feature request:

Is it possible to add a timer-base auto-hibernate function so that the computer will go hibernate after x minutes of inactivity?

Dero

  request cannot be processed again
Posted by: dave.t - 2009-04-28, 05:51 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (22)

Hi folks.
I have three popcorns all running an index.htm. From the index I call gbpvr.cgi to run gbpvr from the hard drive of the popcorn. They were all working fine. Now one of the popcorns gets the response "request cannot be processed". The other two still work fine.
I copied the mvpmc folder from the popcorn working over the top but still no luck.
This is the gbpvr.cgi file

Code:
!/bin/sh echo "Content-Length: 80"; echo "Content-type: text/html"; echo ""; cd ~ mkdir /etc/mvpmc >/dev/NULL echo ""; if [ -f /etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 ] then echo "Already Connected!"; else mount --bind /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/mvpmc /etc/mvpmc mount -t cifs //192.168.1.1/MVPMC /etc/mvpmc/ -o username=guest,rw; cp /etc/mvpmc/utelnetd /usr/bin; chmod 777 /etc/mvpmc/*; utelnetd -l /bin/sh -p 23 & ln -s /lib/librmjpeg.so /lib/libjpeg.so.62 ln -s /lib/librmzlib.so /lib/libz.so ln -s /lib/librmzlib.so /lib/libz.so.1 ln -s /lib/librmzlib.so /lib/libz.so.123 echo "Telnetd started on port 23............"; fi killall gaya sh -c /etc/mvpmc/startmeup 2>/dev/null >/dev/null &

I am using the mount on demand from journey1234 but that works fine on the others. I have read heaps but still lost.
thanks for any help
Dave

  Playback on client not working
Posted by: desmo - 2009-04-28, 04:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have installed v1.3.11 on both client and server. The client is a laptop communicating wirelessly to the server. The client is configured with the "Streaming" option.

On the client I can browse the TV Guide and Recordings fine. But when I attempt to PLAY a recording, the screen goes blank for about 1 second, then returns to the Recordings screen.

Similarly for Live TV, the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds, then returns to the Main Menu.

On the client I have network mapped the server GBPVR, Recordings and LiveTV directories and can browse these ok.

I ran a test on the client where I started PVRX2, attempted to play a recording, then closed PVRX2. I have attached the client and server logs for analysis.

Any help appreciated.

First off, thanks for the great program.

I am getting failed recordings and I can't determine why.

I have 2 HVR 1600s and a WinTV PVR 150, all analog. The system is runnings Windows XP Pro.

Sometimes a recording fails.

I have attached my logs in the hope that you can assist me.

Thank you

  MVPMC somtime hangs
Posted by: dfdario - 2009-04-27, 05:16 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (4)

I have finally decided to load mvpmc since I like its WOL feature.
All went good with dongle 20080930 until a night while watching a recording MVP stopped working. No way to make it moving, video was paused to last frame. Powering off and back on the MVP made the video flashing. A reboot with dongle reload solved that time.
Yesterday night issue happened again so I decided to zip all my logs and post them here.

An other not relevant thing I noted is that sometime upon stopping the video it shows the play menu instead showing the recording title.

  VMR7 and 1.3.11
Posted by: DaveL - 2009-04-27, 04:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I don't have VMR7 as a option in config-->playback-->video render. Is VMR7 no longer supported in 1.3.11?

When I use MPC, I can select between VMR9 and VMR7 and a lot of times I prefer VMR7 for video quality or compatibility issues.

  EPG on client issue
Posted by: rbmcgee - 2009-04-27, 04:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi again all,

I've got GB-PVR working exactly properly in the bedroom. I've installed GB-PVR 1.13.11 on the office computer as a "streaming" client. It works well with the exception of the TV Guide. The guide reflects all channels I receive rather than simply the list of channels I have selected on the main GB-PVR machine. Of course, since the client has no capture cards, it doesn't really contain any channels on its own.

I would like the client tv guide to reflect the same channel listing as the server tv guide. Could someone shed some light on which setting I have to adjust?

Specs:
Schedules Direct
Directv

Thanks.

HDMI support in MVPMCX2 client for NMT
Posted by: nycaleksey - 2009-04-27, 02:15 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

Hi,

I am trying to understand how to start using GBPVR client on my NMT and I am under the impression that the latest client doesn't support HDMI output. Is this correct? Could someone explain why HDMI support is problematic?

Thank you.
