  Failed recordings
Posted by: gf404 - 2009-03-14, 09:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am having trouble with one particular channel not recording correctly. All seems to start OK, but the files (DVR-MS) end up only 184 Mb. Other channels seem OK and it is not always a failed recording. Most shows record OK on the problem channel. During the week I have had 5 failed recordings, always the same show, and this afternoon there were two different ones that failed. All the same channel.

The daily show is at 3:30 (Hi-5)(5 failed recordings this week). The first failed show today was at 14/3/09 4:30 pm (Fishing Australia), the second at 6:30 pm (Funniest Videos).

There are shows on other channels before and after the failures that were fine.

Does anyone have any ideas?

  1.3.11 Vista & MVP issues
Posted by: spidey24 - 2009-03-14, 09:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have been running GBPVR with a MVP for the last year 1/2 using a set top box (digital to analog converter).
I have now upgraded my pc. I am running Vista 64 and I have gbpvr installed. I have changed the dongle to the suggested Hauppauge dongle and have the MVP working... Sort of. I get the main screen on the mvp, I can go virtually everywhere in the interface. But when I try to watch live tv, the channel doesn't change. When I try to channel up or down, the screen goes black and I have to restart the MVP.
I have verified with blastconfig that my set top box does correctly change channels.
The other weird thing is that on my pc using PVRx2, I don't get a TV guide, and none of my settings such as video folder or music folder get applied. Any help appreciated. Is vista 64 not supported??? TIA

Anyone with PCH should read this...
Posted by: tcmy95 - 2009-03-14, 08:57 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Hi All

Anyone who has a PCH should checkout Martin's latest in NMT integration.

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=5pwQtm-hNC4

and if you like what you see there have a look at the latest public release which is a small step towards the final goal.

Martin puts a lot of work into this so if you can follow the instructions and leave some feedback in the post.

Cheers.....Ian

3450 dvi output adapter to S-video or rca
Posted by: noremac74 - 2009-03-14, 08:01 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi all,
well I've got nice clear signals with my setup and this card:

ASUS EAH3450/DI/256M

http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l...odelmenu=1

My problem is this card has 2 dvi outs and 1 hdmi out.
I have a tv with component, svideo, & rca inputs.
The card came with a DVI to vga adapter.
I bought an adapter on ebay (vga to svideo/rca), needless to say it didn't work.

Please please tell me that I can somehow convert this signal temporarily to the sdtv while I save up for an hdtv.

Thanks in advance Smile

  Pause, rewind live TV
Posted by: cfriesen - 2009-03-14, 03:16 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Can this software pause and rewind live TV like a store bought PVR? I'm new at this stuff and am still trying to figure everything out.

  Training HIP to use PVRX2
Posted by: paristotle - 2009-03-13, 11:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm sure there's an easy answer to this.
In the past when training HIP to use GBPVR.exe I would have many keys to choose from in the "System Keys/Predefined keys" section of the "Add Value" window in HIP
Now I am trying to train HIP to use pvrX2 and there are very few options in the "system Keys/Predefined Keys" section.
Can I load predefined keys from somewhere?

A question about fast incremental updates
Posted by: ACTCMS - 2009-03-13, 11:04 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (12)

I've been playing with MLPanel trying to figure out how incremental updates work...
Every 10 seconds, MLPanel displays a randomly located rectangle superimposed on a full screen black background. The second render doesn't clear the rectangle from the first, but subsequent renders clear the rectangle from the previous one.

Starting from here in the log

Code:
2009-03-13 22:18:38.254 VERBOSE [6] Unrequested needsRendering()... 2009-03-13 22:18:38.285 VERBOSE [6] Creating new render hash list 2009-03-13 22:18:38.285 VERBOSE [6] - adding render hash: background:0,0,640,500:False 2009-03-13 22:18:38.301 VERBOSE [6] - adding render hash: static (MLBackGround):0,0,640,500:False 2009-03-13 22:18:38.301 VERBOSE [6] - adding render hash: static (NotPlaying-Small-6):236,85,179,125:False 2009-03-13 22:18:38.301 VERBOSE [6] - ...updated screen rectangle now: 0, 0, 640, 500 2009-03-13 22:18:38.301 VERBOSE [6] sendIncrementalFrame3 (loc = 44,40) (rect = {X=0,Y=0,Width=640,Height=500})
I'm puzzled as to where these co-ordinates are coming from on the second render
Code:
2009-03-13 22:18:48.463 VERBOSE [6] Sending clearing update for: 64, 425, 512, 50
I'm testing on an MVP since I don't have access to an NMT

USB-UIRT doesn't change channels with MVP but OK with PC?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2009-03-13, 10:51 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

Hi Martin,

Not sure if this is MVP related or not but for some odd reason, my USB-UIRT (with an emitter plugged into the mini jack) changes channels on my Now Broadband TV box just fine when using my PC, but doesn't change channels when I use the MVP. Remote works fine with the rest of GBPVR on the MVP.

Can you help point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this?
I have tried the various settings under USB-UIRT in the config setup to no avail. Logs should show PC first, then attempts with the MVP. It might be tryng to change, but doesn't actually do it. (except for FTA channels of course).

Advice on DVB-T hardware to buy
Posted by: jamesheath - 2009-03-13, 10:41 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Relative newbie here -
Loving the promise of GBPVR, but getting a bit wound up by trying to get my Nebula USB card working & messing around with BDA & MUXs.

So, having discovered that GBPVR doesn't do radio recording anyway, I'm thinking of leaving the Nebula to record radio and buying a new card for GBPVR.

So recommendations please - I want:
DVB-T
2 Tuners
reliable good functioning with GBPVR

Ideally I'd like it to be USB as I may move my PVR server to a laptop at some point...

I've noticed a lot of people using the Nova-T 500 is that my best bet? Is there a USB alternative at a reasonable price?

cheers,

James

  H.264 decoder
Posted by: skhills - 2009-03-13, 09:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Has anyone found a good free/low cost H.264 decoder other than ffdshow that works with gbpvr? I have ffdshow installed and it works ok, but sometimes displays a green/yellow vertical band in the middle of the video during playback of H.264 encoded files. I'm looking to try something else, unless someone knows of a fix for the corrupted playback.
The only H.264 decoder from the supported list on the wiki I could find is the MainConcept decoder which is $100.
Thanks!
