  PCH Web Service
Posted by: zed - 2009-02-28, 04:15 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

I've trying to configure my PCH to start GB-PVR from the Web Service menu. Do I just need to type the relevant line from the gbpvr.html file into the URL box? That is, "http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi"? It doesn't seem to work altho it works fine in gbpvr.html. I'm probably missing something obvious (again).

  Help configuring codecs
Posted by: blcookin - 2009-02-28, 03:21 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

I setup GBPVR to convert the TS recordings into DivX and the result doesn't look that great. I know that with compressing the video you're going to lose quality, but since a 30 minute show took up about 300mb I figured the quality would be a bit better. I used to be able to convert a full movie into a 700mb file and have better quality than what the video looks like now so I'm assuming I just need to configure the code properly. However, I'm not having any luck finding where to configure the codec.

Also, on a side note, I originally had it set to convert the TS recording to MPEG-2 format but when ffmpeg launched after the recording it didn't seem to do anything.

My goal is to convert the video into a format that takes up less space than 3.5gb per 30 minutes (TS format) but that I can stream to my PS3. I believe it will support DivX, Xvid, or the MPEG-2 format. I don't want to compress the videos down to a point where the lose a lot of quality though. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  Multiple Monitor

It would be nice if GBPVR can use an LCD TV,keyboard and mouse connected to the computer as a frontend. I can use my system as a dedicated fast home theatre w/o any mvp or nmt while continuing the work on the pc

  DivX H.264 Codec
Posted by: njb - 2009-02-28, 01:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

The new release of DivX 7.0 includes a H.264 codec. Can this be made to work with GBPVR. How. Is it any good.

  Plugins no show
Posted by: bigC - 2009-02-27, 11:23 PM - Forum: Burndvdx2 and Skiptool - Replies (2)

Ugh, what have I done!?

I just tried to upgrade to the latest version of burndvdx2 and I also installed skiptool but they are nowhere to be found. I opened Gbpvr and they weren't listed, I opened config > plugins and they weren't there either.

I uninstalled & reinstalled both but still nothing. Can I not have both plugins installed at once?

Please help. Logs attached

New ZTools and UltraXMLTV software will require Registration?
Posted by: zehd - 2009-02-27, 10:20 PM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - Replies (6)

How about I drop a bomb...

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...MLTV2#toc2

I think I explained why I want to do this on the new wiki page. And expecting a lot of heat, I thought I'd open a thread that would take it...

There was a point that I was thinking about a call home function. Certainly I'm aware how terrible that is, especially in this type of community. Any time there's a false ping on someone's firewall, sub gets asked if there's a call home in GB-PVR itself...

So as said, all I want is to get a sense of how many people are using the software, not just how many downloads...

I'd like to automate the registration, so I won't need to manually reply to registration requests. And If I am given a private Outside email address, I'd like to know who I'm talking to (Many GB-PVR handles aren't people's real names...)

Another idea to allow people to be anonymous is to simply send your unique IP address.

I do realize that new users don't know me from Adam, and may not be able to trust me. And that any type of information can be used for nefarious purposes.

So if anyone has any other ideas for me to collect a user count, I'm interested...

Thanks

Noob-wants to control GBPVR software with remote

What is needed to control the GBPVR software via remote? I already have a Harmony 880 remote and I am thinking I need some type of IR receiver and software. Any tips on this would be great. I currently do not have a capture card.

  Ubustream locking up
Posted by: mjc8870 - 2009-02-27, 09:25 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I have ubustream working and inputed my own radio stations. That all works excellent but when I try to enter the screen locks up. I have to hit ctrl alt delete several times to get out of the screen. I am using keyboard and mouse to control.

Any help on getting ubustram to work more smoothly without locking up when trying to exit web streams.

Thanks
