  Streaming Trouble
Posted by: insane - 2009-02-21, 11:16 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (3)

First, thanks for a great program. What a wonderful tool.

I am unable to get the streaming video to work over my LAN. After having read through all the posts here I have been unable to find any that help me to resolve my problem.

When I click on the "Stream Now" button I get the "The system cannot find the file specified" error message (Error Screen). I have verified that the video is being saved to the HDD, but the stream does not launch. If I go back to the EWA guide screen, the program is identified as being recorded, and I can cancel the recording.

I have the latest version of GBPVR with the bundled EWA. VLC version 0.8.6i is installed on both the host and client machines. In the EWA config I have VLC selected as the stream player, and "open stream in external player" is selected.

Thanks for your assistance!

PVRX2 Crashes to desktop part 2
Posted by: Elmo Putney - 2009-02-21, 10:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Long stroy this one, and it is kind of related to this thread:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40763

So after applying the survival guide patches a couple of weeks ago I had the issue in the thread above.

Sub issued a new patch that seemed to fix things, I had one crash back to desktop from live tv without error midweek. I thought this was a one-off until last night when it happened about 5 times over 3 hours or so.

The only things that have changed on my system are:

Went from ATI mpeg video to MPC decoder, and Brian testing DVBS-radio which I'm sure is not related.

So I switched back to the ATI mux which I thought fixed things because it didn't crash at all yesterday after going back to ATI. But tonight it spat it's dummy out again (with ATI mpeg dec.).

The logs are attached which should include at least 4 of these crashes, I noted the time of a couple of them (both on Fri 20th Feb), one was around
8:07pm the other 8:47.

I will drop back to a pre-patched image that I know is ok tommorow if the logs are inconclusive so it's not a huge issue, I'd just like to know whats going on.

Unable to tune all channels and other problems
Posted by: Halifax99 - 2009-02-21, 09:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have installed ver 1.3.11 and I am unable to tune all TV channels in Melbourne. In addition when I try mapping the channels that I have tuned I get the following error " unhandled exception has occured in your application"

I have downloaded the Patch from the survival guide and I know this is a very basic question but what do I do with the unzipped files?

I have a leadtek 1000T and leadtek 2000H digital card installed as digital tuning devices. In the capture card setup both cards are shown as device 1 is this correct?

Thanks

Halifax99

Can't find Virgin One in the UK
Posted by: bethanyrayne - 2009-02-21, 03:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hello Sub, don't waste any sleep over this one but despite updating the 3 files and the the further PSI file to stop live TV problems and everything works great including multi record.

My problem is that although I know it's there multiple scans at different times will not reveal Virgin One. No big issue but would like to know when you have time in the future, maybe it will appear when anologue transmitters get shut down in this area December 2009 and Digital signal strength is increased.

  Ubustream - Add radio station
Posted by: mjc8870 - 2009-02-21, 03:41 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I am new here and have been trying to get ubustream going. Thee only thing I would like to do is add a few radio stations from some of my favorite radio stations. These stations have streaming radio from there sites. I inputed streaming stream address and no luck. Is their any other plugins I need.

I am very confused. I have read the Wiki and the information is a little difficult to follow.

Is there a tutorial to add a radio station from the web? if not, can someone walk me thru the steps and all needed plugins.

The station I want to add is located at WBAB.com

Thanks,

Mike

  Update EPG through Config
Posted by: flyboy_ont - 2009-02-21, 03:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have the EPG update in config set to 7 PM . Does it really do the EPG update? Reason I ask is that some of the shows I record are not recording.

Thanks in advance.

  Playback stops after several minutes.
Posted by: Flash_ - 2009-02-21, 02:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

1.3.11, fresh install, xp sp2, intel chipset in a shuttle box. (GBPVR running on another box to record with various tuners using Cyberlinks .mpg mux.)

Playback of recorded tv, access through 'Videos', starts normally but video freezes after some minutes (5-15) normal viewing. Sound continues for some time but eventually that stops too.

PVXR2 remains responsive and returning to main menu and starting over allows to start playing the video and FF'ing through to where it stopped before and continuing until it stops again.

I've tried:

Playing from local drive instead of remote share.

Changing PVXR2's renderer to all the available options. (EVR returns error)

Running as a standalone install instead of a client.

Downgrading to previous gbpvr version.

Upgrading Windows Media Player to v.11.

Removing all power saving settings on the pc.

Notes:
Mediaportal, VLC and MPC all play the files through from start to finish without issue, suggesting not an underlying codec or hardware problem.

I prefer gbpvr and would like to use it on this set top box purely for playing tv recorded by another machine across the lan as I've done successfully before. Any ideas?

Show Provider ID, transponder and FTA status in channelscan result screen
Posted by: nwagenaar - 2009-02-21, 02:10 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

GB-PVR is a very nice application but for me, but mapping DVB-S based channels is very troublesome.

The main reason, is because in the channelscan result screen I only see the channel name and with channels consisting of (almost) the same name mistakes are easy to make. Based upon channel-order I'm able to guess which channel is linked to my subscription card.

However, I do make mistakes (human and stuff Wink ) and I frequently select the wrong channel and I use the config tool to select the right one. But with 4 sats it's kinda troublesome and time consuming.

To make my (and perhaps other DVB-S users) live easier, it would be great if we can have the Providername, Transponder and perhaps FTA status in the channelscan result screen. This will allow us to make proper and faster selections and as a result, a better configured channel-list.

  TV Listings 2.8 released
Posted by: alibert - 2009-02-21, 12:14 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (4)

Hi,

I've just uploaded v2.8 of the TV Listings plugin at the wiki. Changes include:

Quote:- fixed an issue where the confirmation popup got no focus
- added ‘Resume’ playback button for recordings
- added option to forcibly hide the resume prompt when starting playback of partly watched recordings
- added option to wrap around from the last to the first item and vice-versa in the recordings lists
- implemented faster termination of worker threads when the application closes
- fixed a bug when showing the inset rectangle before the ui was initialised
- fixed an issue where the selection of the just pressed button in the confirmation popup changes during the popup-close animation

Please note that the new release requires at least GBPVR 1.3.11.

  Signal strength popup
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-02-21, 11:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm sure I remember you could popup the signal strength/quality when watching live TV by pressing ctrl-O. It doesn't seem to work anymore on my new install. Has this feature been dropped?
