  Can't Play TS Recorded from Firewire
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2009-01-24, 09:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I'd like to capture MPEG2 TS files using Graph Recorder from the firewire port on the STB. The capture graph uses the GBPVR file writer with a .ts extension. Only 1 of 4 recordings will play in 1.3.11. The files that won't play in GBPVR play fine in Graphedit, using the Nvidia Transport Demux which Graphedit selects when using the Render File menu item. They also play fine in WMP.

GBPVR can't seem to render the output pins of the MPEG-2 Demux, the graph shows the SOURCE filter connected to the demux, but the demux has no output pins and there are no decoders in the graph.

Logs attached.

Thanks, Sub.

  keymappings changes not working
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-01-24, 09:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I want to change the keymapping so that the Home key calls up the OSD (the one normally called with ^B that shows the program info), rather than calling up the menu-inset mode. So, I modified both LiveTVPreviewPlayer.xml and LiveTVTimeshiftPlayer.xml thusly:

Code:
<command name="LIVETV_OSD" key="Home"/> ... <command name="LIVETV_MENU" key="End"/>

However, the change has no effect - the i button on my remote (which gb-pvr receives as 'Home') and the real 'Home' key on the keyboard still call up the menu-inset mode, and End still does nothing, BUT ^B now does nothing as well.

So on one hand it has recognized that ^B is not mapped to the OSD function, but doesn't recognize that Home and End now have different functions.

What gives? Are some of these keys hard-coded somewhere? Or am I missing something?

edit: additional observation: with the default keymapping, ^I also brings up the OSD yet ^I isn't mentioned anywhere in the keymapping. With my modified mapping, both ^B and ^I don't work. So ^I seems somehow linked to ^B, and Home seems hard-coded to the "LIVETV_MENU" and can't be assigned elsewhere? This is a bit illogical and frustrating.

  EGP time is off
Posted by: Flibb - 2009-01-24, 09:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I reinstalled Windows on my system last week, backed up the config.xml and gbpvr.db3, and restored them after reinstalling GBPVR.

Today, my tv guide is 6 hours late. I even tried to empty the epg, delete all channels, started gpbvr to make sure there is no epg data, then reloaded egp data and it's still off.

I'm pretty sure the tv guide was right on time when I reinstalled it, I almost wonder if it's not slipping 1 hour per day, but it will take a few days to confirm this.

Oddly enough, recordings scheduled during the week all recorded fine, this baffles me.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Guillaume

Hi, I cannot install GB-PVR on my PCH. When I select the file GB-PVR.html, I get the three options, choosing GB-PVR gets me the error message "Request cannot be processed".

Have attached logs in case it helps.

  PVRX2, Recording service, and config hang on start
Posted by: Nexes1 - 2009-01-24, 05:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,
Everything was working fine last night, this morning PVRX2 was locked up.
After a reboot, the recording service gave me the standard "has encountered a problem and needs to close". I got the same when I tried to open PVRX2 and the config utility. I uninstalled 1.3.7 and updated to the latest version 1.3.11. The problem is still occurring. I have attached the log files. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  F1 not clearing TV guide after "record this program"
Posted by: djcpal1 - 2009-01-24, 04:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Watching TV, press CTRL-K to record and watch current program

Pressing F1 brings up TV guide but won't clear it - only [ESC] works. When just watching TV, F1 both brings up and clears the guide.

  Minor TV guide cosmetics
Posted by: djcpal1 - 2009-01-24, 04:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

=== tv guide.jpg

The first two are cosmetic

1) item circled on left - when an error in the EPG data reports two overlapping programs, the text can overlap too (when the program titles are long enough and the program times are short enough). Highlighting either program gives its text priority.

Suggestion: give the later program starting time priority - ie - if a new program is starting, assume the old one is finishing.

2) item circled on right - program name too long for allocated box. Screenshot is from the previous version and I've just noticed this has been fixed in the new version (three lines of text now display correctly), but for programs where the name still doesn't fit on 3 lines (see program in bottom right), name just ends abruptly. Maybe it's just Scotland, but there seem to be lots of 5 minute programs with long names here.

Suggestion: use '...' at the end of the last bit of text that fits in the box

=== tv guide accents.jpg

EPG programs containing gaelic letters (with accents) don't display correctly - see comparision with listing on BBC site. This is using over the air EPG. Not sure if EPG overair source or GBPVR causes this.

=== tv guide descender.jpg

Minor cosmetic - descenders cut off in third line of text - look at "g" in "tonight" of highlighted program

=== tv guide pixel widths.jpg

Very, very, very minor cosmetic - the last row of the guide touches the white line at the bottom. All other rows miss it by 1 pixel!

=== tv guide spillage.jpg

Very minor cosmetic - the "m" of the highlighted (very narrow) program spills into the next program box

  Volume control bug - arrow keys + function buttons
Posted by: djcpal1 - 2009-01-24, 04:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have buttons on my laptop for volume control. If I use them, the volume bar shows up and the volume is adjusted. If I use the left and right arrow keys, the volume bar shows up and the volume is adjusted.

However - if I use the left and right arrow keys after using the laptop volume controls, it seems to resort to the volume level as it was before the laptop volume buttons were used. Pressing the left arrow key (to decrease volume) can actually result in the volume being increased.

To recreate:
Use right arrow key to increase volume.
Use laptop (volume -) key to decrease volume a few steps.
Use left arrow key - volume increases!

  Minor TV Guide scrolling bug
Posted by: djcpal1 - 2009-01-24, 04:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Slightly wierd one, happens on both full screen TV guide and F1 TV guide.

1) As per the screen shot, get the TV guide such that either the last channel (channel 83) or the first channel (channel 1) is in the bottom row, and the highlighted program is also in the bottom row. Press "Up". The whole guide scrolls leaving the highlight on the bottom row, when the expected action is for the highlight to move up one channel.

2) Similar, but scrolling down. Get the TV guide such that the last channel is in the bottom row, and the highlighted program is in the top row. Press "Down". The whole guide scrolls leaving the highlight on the top row, when the expected action is for the highlight to move down one channel.

  Minor cosmetic requests - EPG updating and config sources
Posted by: djcpal1 - 2009-01-24, 04:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

channel scanning.jpg, epg update screen.jpg

1) Minor cosmetic request - could you include the "(1 of 6)" info that appears on the "Digital Channel Mapping" window on the "Updating EPG" window (below on first screenshot), and the Update EPG of GBPVR (second screenshot)?

2) Minor cosmetic bug - The red circle on the second screen shot shows where text is being clipped in the Update EPG screen with the program.

config sources.jpg

Minor cosmetic request - in Config, Capture sources, grey out "Edit" and "Remove" when no source selected, similarly to how the 2 boxes below (presumably "Up" and "Down") are greyed out.
