I've been tweaking my GBPVR server over the past few days. The server now runs headless (thanks to VNC) for the most part and I successfully configured it so that it automatically wakes machine from standby in the middle of the night (~1am) to update EPG.

Last night, I scheduled a recording to start at 3:35am. This morning, I noticed the recording had failed. Going through the GBPVRRecordingService log file, I noticed two lines with the "Asking Windows to be awake..." one for the scheduled recording and the other for the Update EPG. UpdateEPG seems to have worked but the recording failed. :confused: Thoughts?

The server was non-responsive when I checked in the morning and had to be rebooted. It did seem to be have come out of standby but was not responding to any keystrokes or mouse movements (keyboard and mouse connected to the server) and neither could VNC connect to it. I also looked at this page in the wiki and wonder if that is what happened? Even so, I am confused as to why update epg works fine but recordings fail? :confused:

I am using the following link as suggested to get a guide of our Tv Channels.

It however brings the channel numbers through incorrectly which results in not selecting the movie channels. Is there someway i can edit this guide to correct the channel numbers?

While playing a Netflix downloaded movie, I pressed the Hauppauge remote blue button. First time, it brought up a fairly large black area at the bottom of the screen with quite small green text saying the playing time. A second press returned the screen to normal (I think, or it may have returned on its own.) A second press brought up the black area, no text and locked up the computer. I had to do a hard reset.

Any thoughts (other than don't go pushing buttons when you don't know what they do)? What features are available in the Netflix player?

I'm using Graph Recorder for firewire capture from my STB, and it has been working fine. I started working with Netflix Watch Now in the last few days and it seems to have affected Graph Recorder. Specifics:

Installed Netflix Watch Now 1.0.2.5 and then upgraded to 1.0.2.6rc1 based on discussions on this forum. Then went back to 1.0.2.3 since I am using an old, non-Silverlight Netflix account, and I think I got all the newer files replaced with the older ones; I just copied into the directories.

1.0.2.3 was the first install that played a movie (downloaded with 1.0.2.5) and appeared to successfully download another movie. It did get the DRM permissions popups when I started the play.

However, the installs of Netflix seemed to break Graph Recorder. According to the logs, Graph Recorder was looking for directshowlib-2005.dll in the \plugins\netflix directory. So, I copied the dll to this directory, and now Graph Recorder works. But, Netflix does not, at least it won't play the movie it previously played. Prior to the above, the only instance of this dll was in the \plugins\graph recorder directory.

Any idea why it wants to look in the \Netflix directory? Or why the presence of this dll appears to break Netflix?

I am trying to sort our some issues with Client mode

1) Steaming live TV works on some HD channels with some stuttering. File share of live TV gives a frozen screen. When streaming, I get about 70% network utilization while with file share, I only get about 3%. This tells me that either the server is not sending it fast enough or the client is not asking for it or??? Any Thoughts?

2) With both streaming and file share of recorded HD (MPEG) files, I get about 15% network utilization and the files playback fine on the client through Video Library, but have some stutter when playing back through Recordings.

3) From the Server, I can start a recording, then open the in process recording using Video Library. From the Client, I can see the file but it will not open it for playback from video library. I can open it using VLC.

I have a very basic network setup with all the XP and Vista defaults and a basic Linksys router/switch

Please let me know any logs or tests I should run. Thanks and Happy New Year!

can you please check the tuner priority code before the next release goes out? I was unable to set this in config (kept putting the silly analogue tuner first!) and had to edit the database directly.

I found the allocation_order entries in the capture_source table to be all set to zero -- once I edited them with SQLite Broswer it was okay.

After almost two excruciating years with my TerraTec card, I've decided to trash it...

1. Poor tuners, lack sensitivity and won't lock the signal
   
2. Ongoing glitches once locked, cause MVP sync problems later
   
3. Out of warranty

I've broken it again!

In trying to move to TS-MUX to stop the spontaneous repeats in live TV on the PCH, I've stopped the PCH working with GBPVR completely. All is hine on the server PC, and also on my MVP. But, whatever I try to play via mvpmc on the PCH, I get "could not play". Live TV, recordings or other video, mp3 music, anything.....

Have tried everything I can think of or find in the forum - yes, have checked that the recording service is allowed to interact with the desktop.

Any help gratefully received
