I am trying to build a GBPVR client machine running Windows XP PRO. I am looking to add a usb receiver. However, all the ones I found so far within my price range ($30) only support Vista MCE or XP MCE.
I am less concerned about the remote because I can use a basic one, may be an MCE remote.
Anyway, I have looked through many forums, but was not able to answer the question whether a usb IR receiver the supports MCE (Vista or XP) will work at all on XP Pro.
If you have a suggestion for a decent USB receiver and remote, please let me know. I do not need any tuners, or a blaster for this client machine.
I have the Firefly remote, & I am using LM Remote Keymap to map the buttons. I have everything working in GBPVR with this setup but cannot get the mini-guide (CTL+G) & the OSD (CTL+B) to work thru the remote. When I use the keyboard these key combinations work perfectly.
I've read the instructions at the LM site & these two keyboard strokes are the only ones I can't get to work.
Hi, converted a movie from .ts to .avi with an external xvid converter.
Should the recordings plugin pick up this new .avi file where before it was .ts??
Does it require a recording service/pvrx2 restart to make it take effect?? At the moment pvrx2 thinks that the recording is missing and only gives me the delete option.
I am building a new gbpvr box (old one been running since now -05)
This time I am going all digital and have a dvb-s card (hvr 4000)
I have a dreambox with one local subscribtioncard and one remote over wan
everything is up and running with switches,signal and so on.
I have GBPVR 1.3.7 on Vista and have done the XML, capture source config.
scanning worked fine all channels showed up but only FTA ones in preview window. Watching free channel works great.
I then added MDAPIFilter and the Vista trayicon from the latest ver.
starting a decrypted channel via tvguide now gives me the tray icon.
I started with wincsc as client-plugin and have solved the connection to the dreamboxs port and it reports reading the local card via the gui from the tray.
I get no picture in livetv on this decrypted channel just black and after a while it hangs.
From the MDAPIFilter.log I find this error:

I cant find the sxstrace on the system!

I have noticed with some programs I record on channel 5 (Freesat DVB-S) that the frame rate isnt correct, sound and picture quality is good, but frame rate seems like it's from a flip book (hope that makes sense)
anyway tonight I was watching live TV through the PCH and it was the same.
I am guessing it's something specific to the channel
On the wiki I am adding a column to indicate what is an editable image item by the skinplugin (may not be up to date). Suggested sizes may also need to be revised. I also indicate which images are used by blue, to confirm compatibility.

I flushed the log, replicated the problem and attached the files. Basically, in a recording if you try to fast forward the application hangs and has to be closed out using Ctrl+Alt+Del.
I checked the Event Viewer and there are quite a few Application Hang warnings for PVR2.exe in there.
When I try to Scan for channels using the 'Edit Recording Source' Dialog, I press the 'Map digital channels to EPG (I am referring this to as 'Scanning'), the program always freezes. I start the scan and it seems to be working for a few minutes before it reaches '4 of 6' sources and then seems to completely lock.

Chosen Device (Seems to default to this one even after I change it): Hauppauge Win TV MOD7700 DVB-T #1
EPG Source: DVB EPG Broadcast
No channel Changer.
I have tried changing the Device to others in the 'Detected' List but it seems to reset back to this device, so I am assuming this is the correct one (I've tried scanning with other options, and they don't even detect a channel).
I've tried looking at the Wiki but I cannot seem to find any information on this problem or even a step by step guide for setting up the tuner correctly.
Also I have no problems watching TV using the WinTV program, just in case anyone thinks that this is the problem.
