I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150MCE card that didn't come with a remote. I'd like to be able to do basic things in GB-PVR like change the channels, record, etc, with a remote. Can anyone recommend a good remote that's widely available and plug-and-play for use with GB-PVR?
Not really a question but more a warning. The computer on which I run GBPVR rcently became infected with a new variant of Trojan.DNS-changer. I noticed the infection since, when booting the computer, it would immediately reboot at the point when GB-PVR Recording Service started. I was only able to boot the computer by going into safe mode and disabling the Recording Service. This is a symptom of the virus which I have not seen reported elsewhere and is only of interest to those of us running GB-PVR. Thinking the problem was with corrupted GBPVR files I unnecessarily reinstalled GB-PVR although the program itself is in no way affected by the virus. (I expect sub will be able to explain why it causes the crash).
Other symptoms of the virus are inability to open MyComputer by double clicking (although you can Explore it by right clicking) and clicking on a link, after doing a Google search, will redirect you to different link.
The virus is transmitted by opening an infected networked drive, USB stick or USB drive or if you download dodgy video codecs.

Had 1.2.13 installed no problems at all. Upgraded to 1.2.7 and get live TV really good. BUT - Blank screen no audio on playback of recorded TV. Blank screen no audio when in timeshift mode as well. ie when pausing during live TV. I noted all settings of 1.2.13 and applied same but still have this problem. I have installed PowerCinema6 as I heard this may help with codecs but still no go.
I note that the muxchecker finds no multiplexors on my system however I have TS mux enabled and am recording ok to a TS file.
1.2.13 was working so well. Why the probs with 1.3.7? I suspect it is a decoder problem but it worked with the previous release?:confused:

I have installed a Hauppauge HVR-930c USB at a friends place. It worked fine after adding the below entries to bda.ini - both can be added to device database (second one for the DVB-T side, untested).
However, the DVB-EPG update (unecrypted channels only) gave me an error after 59 seconds and at a second and subsequent attempts empty listings (=no EPG). Two sets of logs are attached. Is this GBPVR related or does Kabeldeutschland use a non-standard DVB-EPG?
I used GBPVR on a number of non-client machines simply as a multimedia GUI.
I would be nice in these instances to be able to have an option to not starting the recording service. It's just less clutter on start-up. (one of these machines is an atom netbook - which is great - but with limited power you appreciate lean
I have tried disabling the service in windows admin - but from memory that caused the config to hang (?)
Every time I put in a new DVD If I try to play it, it just goes black screen. If I exit GBPVR and restart works again every time, just a hassle. Any known issues with this?
I'm trying to change my tuner priority, but after clicking Ok, I go back in and it's back the way it was before. I move them around with the two little unlabeled buttons, that's how you do it, right?
Right now it's like this:
HVR1800 digital
PVR150 analog
HVR1800 analog
PVR150 svideo
What I want is for the two analog tuners to be switch around, but it doesn't stick.
My son lives out in the country and doesn't have satellite, just ota through a digital convertor box.
He has a lap top that's not used much so I loaded GBPVR on it and now he can hookup to my network when he's here and copy programs over from my temp directory to his machine and then take it home and hook it up to the TV and watch it through the Videos plugin (his laptop has an SVHS output for the TV, in fact it can do dual monitors between the LCD and TV!).
This works fine, but you know we're kinda greedy . . . we'd like it to work better. Is there a way I could get the programs into his Recordings Directory and bring the program descriptions with it? He may not want every program I have, but I figured he could just copy what he wanted. I'm guessing the program info is in a database file somewhere he'd need to grab? And I'm guessing/hoping that if there are programs in that database for which there aren't any programs for in the directory that it'll just drop those off?
Clear as mud, huh? Hopefully you guys can understand what we're doing and what we would like for it to be able to do and can point us in the right direction!
