I'm currently running 1.2.13 and have been having the following problem for a while. I've just been lazy in fixing it. Now with the upgrade I'm thinking I should try and fix it.
I'm at work at the moment so I can't show you any logs but will attach some later when I get home.
So the problem, When watching a recording sometimes GBPVR crashes and is forced to close by Windows (XP) The error message says something about .NET so I'm actually guessing its not Subs problem, more something with .NET. It only happens sometimes (actually getting a bit more regular now) It may happen two or three times before it will let me watch the program. but generally it will let me watch a whole file.
So Assuming there is something wrong with .NET and I need to reinstall it Whats the best way to do it, bearing in mind that I want to maintain all my settings in GBPVR as far as possible!
I'm guessing stop recording service, Uninstall everything .net related version 1, version2 and version 3, and then reinstall them all.
Once I've done that I can install the new version of GBPVR and hopefully all should be fine.
I guess my question is will uninstalling .net b reak the install of GBPVR or will it sort itself out once I reinstall .net?
Just wondering how others are finding the ts mux with a client and multi record setup
a few of my findings so far
on the client i had to select multi record and the ts-mux so that the tv guide would work other wise it would tell me i had no tuners....do you want to watch XXXX been recorded
file sharing works well over wire can even watch live
so its great becuase streaming is a pain when trying to fast forward
wireless i had to turn on packed burst but now it is fine aswell
takes a bit longer for the tv guide to show red once a recording is set to record but gets there in the end
fast forward can be a bit strange on some recordings it jumps backward but not on all recordings so i will see if i can find a patern on that
thats it for now be interested in what others think but im liking the ts files
another thing you may need to do is cancel all recordings and re-add them after you upgrade to multi-record otherwise it will try and record 2 programs from different muxes on the one mux you will end up with 0kb files
I have a problem with all my recordings after upgrading to 1.3.7. All recordings seem to have a negative start time and are not seekable, so I cannot skip ahead. If I press skip it goes back to the beginning.
Since upgrading to 1.3.7 I have found that the second scheduled recording in back to back recordings using multi recording creates a 0 byte size file. Logs seem to indicate everything is working, but nothing is recorded. Anyone else having a similar problem?
I noticed something odd, its been there all the time.
I have a Videos folder in GBPVR Config, called "Default" i can view this folder in GBPVR (via MVP) fine, it shows all contents only, i dont need to select a folder called "default" to see inside it (as it should be designed), however when in EWA it shows a folder called "Default" which i have to select.
Why do i need to select the "default" folder when there will be nothign above this as this is the main folder as configged in GBPVR, shouldnt this be the same as GBPVR which takes the name of the root as not shown and just show its contents instead if makcing you select the "defualt" folder as names in the Config.
Server is XMLTV listing driven, this works fine on the server MVP and Admin site, shared GBPVR directory as read write but not create.
Install another copy GBPVR on another machine, list it as client with streaming and not file share, when runing this client it pulls the recordeding data but not the TV guide, it seems to be pulling all the channels but not the channel contents!
Is this a file share issue as i listed streaming??? Also GBPVR on the client closes with some wacky crash error (has SQL in the error).
What logs do you want to see, see a screen shot as well?
when i try to watch TV with gbpvr 1.3.7, after 5 seconds the whole app crashes.
I set logging to debug an checked the logfiles but there isn't anything suspicious.
The recording service itself is still running and in state recording after the crash happens.
The only line - i don't understand - is "Received event code: 35861"
Don't think it's happening too often, but the wife is starting to complain she needs to restart the pch as it's playing a video and then gets a blank screen. Nothing on the remote gets it out until you pull the plug.
I've only noticed it since I upgrade to the new firmware.
