I am reaching out to everybody and would like to understand what is the skill set (C#, .net, Perl, unix, et all) that is required to develop a plugin for GBPVR?

HI I have built a pc pvr system. The system consist of a flat screen (ir), pioneer receiver (ir), cable DSTB (ir), HDMI channel selector (ir), and blue-ray stb disk player(ir), and PC (pvr). All the comononets minus the plasma are stored in a cabinet with doors shut.
I was hoping to obtain a newer rf/ir remote that has good ir learning capability and contatins ir blaster capability at the rf receiver module. I could control the plasma with a ir emiiter inside the hand held remote. I could then control all the ir based components with ir blaster wires inside the cabinit via the rf receiver. Additionally I would need suport configuration software that would allow me to designate ir blasts based uopn programmable events and channel changing capability for the DSTB. I use PVRX2. Can anyone recommend a range/any of remotes that would work for this application. Your thoughts appreciated.

I'm considering buying a TerraTec Cinergy HTC USB XS HD USB2.0, (Analog Tv-Tuner & DVB-T & DVB-C), has anyone experience whith it? Will it work fine with GBPVR? I plan to use it for both DVB-C and analog reception.

I am looking for any suggestions for GameZone 2.9

I was going to virtualise the whole thing and allow multiple instances of GameZone with user set names to be run, however this has hit a dead end in that I cannot determine the name of the dll file that is being run from within the dll itself, normally you can but not it would seem as a plugin.

So far I know of:

1. SMS like key support needs fixing
2. Dosbox may need some work
3. Images for files shown in the filelist - will be done as part of v3.0
4. Menubutton order up down selection fix required. - Done
5. Main menu wraparound - Done
6. Xtraemulators support using the display nane of the selected file (used in Final Burn Alpha) - Done



And thats all.

If that is it it would seem that I should just look at doing a minor version uppdate as its only bug fixes no additional features.

Give me your ideas and I will see what I can do.

Anyone heard about this new format and the TV pack? Any applicability to GBPVR?

Interesting problem not sure if anyone else has seen the same problem.

99% of the time I get perfect recordings from my 2 Nova-DT DVB-T tuners (UK freeview). However sometimes the picture gets stuck although the audio can be heard in the background.

This has happened on 2 programs Derren Brown and recently The Family.

Symptoms.
Recording starts and seems fine with intro/adverts until we get the title (for the family rhis was a black background with the text in white (The Family)). On the actual program which I watched the title fades to the actual program, however on the recording the title stays although the the sound keeps going.
It was similar for Derren Brown where the title was Black with white text - is this a common theme?

Has anyone else seen this problem, know how to solve or am I just going mad.

I won a LG 42" LCD Wide Screen in an internal company contest. Yahoo...

(Although I now know I wish it was a plasma!!!! But beggars can't be choosers )

Anyway, I am still only using Analog capture cards (PVR150) to record TV, and I also watch the occasional Torrent. The New TV displays so much more detail, I had no idea that my video signal sucked royally...

I'll be playing with Digital and HD whenever I get around to updating my recording server (gonna use for playback too) but for now I wanted to give some hope to any of you still using Analog and not really happy with the picture...

GET A VIDEO AMP !!! OMG it's night and day !!! Sure the Picture isn't HD, but the picture is so much clearer. The colour richer. And one thing I love, is watching a show broadcast in SD but with letterbox, and then using the 'Remove Letterbox' F7 Aspect Ratio choice, to fill my screen... It really looks not too bad. It will almost let me wait even longer before I go to HD...

I install HD for the local company daily, and I'm disgusted with the amount of compression that both the local land based providers use on their HD signals. (I also have to bite my tongue daily). Yes it's better than my SD, but not by much... It looks like an over-compressed HD ripped Torrent. So I will probably go Satellite when I'm ready.

One other thing I'm so bloody impressed with is: ZProcess works really, really well !!! (Sorry for tooting my own horn - but I've only really tested wide screen aspect ratios on a 9" Portable DVD screen :p )

It's really not that bad with the MVP. Coupled with the Video Amp, and better recorded programs, the MVP works well for me. I'll probably only go Popcorn Hour when the guys get comskip going, and I have HD sources...

Hi I am currently obtaining guide data via xml. I read in a earlier thread that if you have a bat file that builds the xml file established, then it is simply a matter of pressing update guide and gbpvr will execute your .bat file and then read the xml file. Has anyone had any experience with this. The thread stated it was required to name the .bat file updateegp.bat and gbpvr will execute it. I have been able to direct gbpvr to process the xml file but not execute the updateepg.bat script. Any thoughts on this matter appreciated.
