Once again, I had to bug out of my house and run from a hurricane. I did pretty well in Katrina (lost my business office) but came back. So far, this time I seem to have lucked out again. They won't let us go back home for a few days. Guess I'll just have to make a mini vacation out of things in Vicksburg, MS.
After all of the fiddling that I have been doing whilst trying to get DVB-S working, I am concerned that I have some corruption in the database and so would like to start again with a clean install. The DB was also based on the first empty.db3 from the very early installer.
I can export my recordings which I believe will also export my recurring schedules but how do I export my capture device settings, specifically channels? I had a nightmare with scanning on this suspect Videomate card and would rather not go through all of the testing again.
I had a poke around in SQLLiteSpy but cannot see anything useful in there.

Added checkbox to General tab in config, that disables the Recent Games Menu item

Added checkbox to General tab in config, that enables an insane amount of logging, this is useful when sending logs for hard faults, only use when requested.
Fixed Zinc, the files needed for each of the roms was not being checked, it now checks all pre-requisites and only displays the roms that have all support files.

...or something like that. Every time after I have scheduled a TV recording I get this message (twice) when activating my media center from standby with the remote. PVRx2 will then crash.
This bug is the only thing keeping me from switching from Mediaportal to GB-PVR. I believe I read some posts before but can't seem to find them anymore.
Is there a solution to this problem or do I wait for the next release?
Hi, I have a new Media PC - Intel 2.5 Duo, 2 gig Ram, GeForce 9600, WinTV Nova-T-500 (Hauppauge) and XP Pro SP2.
I have installed vcredist_x86.exe and GBPVR10213.msi
After configuring Capture Sources, mapping digital channels to EPG channels, setting up the recording and buffer folders I wasn't able to get a picture when viewing a channel. I then installed Cyberlink Power Cinema 5.1 so I could use it's decoder and away it goes - nice picture though no sound. I tested recoreding two channels at the same time which works fine.
The problem I have is when I try to playback a recording or start to record a channel while watching it (which just starts to playback the recording?) PVRX2 crashes with the following error - PVRX2 has encountered a problem and needs to close. This happens everytime I try to playback, not intermittently.
Would love to know if I have done something wrong? Could someone please help me set this up properly to stop the crashing?
I've now RMA'd this thing 3 times and it still quits in the middle of recordings. According to GBPVR's status, it is still recording, but the light is on & the file size quits growing.
I'm at my wits end - is there anything in the logs that might indicate the trouble?
The latest recording to quit was an episode of Psych on 9/2 from 00:05 to 01:05
I'm hoping that I can still return it for my $$ back...
Greets to everyone, I'm new here at the gbpvr forums and found my way here after I ordered a Popcorn Hour A-110 for media playback on my home theater. I found out that I could replace the awful cable box altogether using gbpvr running on a server with some tuner cards and decided to give it a shot.
I've got 2 Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 ATSC/ClearQAM/NTSC on order from newegg and should be here within the week. I'm also waiting for the PCH box to arrive.
My question is what is the easiest OS for gbpvr to operate on? I've experimented with Windows Server 2008 but it seemed like it had some problems during installation. Obviously I can't tune any channels yet due to the cards not being installed but I'm more concerned with whats going to provide me with a smooth set up process.
Should I stick with XP or is it worth it to use Server 2008? I know 2008 can use NFS for networking but supposedly the SMB networking speed is going to be increased a lot in the next firmware upgrade.
RAM isn't an issue because I'm only going to be using 2GB of DDR2 800.
Also, I'm a little confused as to how watching live TV works. With recorded shows I'm assuming they'll be saved on the server in a shared folder that the PCH can "see" and play from. I might be wrong about this as I don't have all my equipment in yet. Is it better to use the plug-in for everything (Live TV & recorded shows)?
Also, how does one go about changing the channel while watching live TV through the PCH? I see everyone talking about IR blaster remotes and using a Logitech Harmony (which I have) remote to control it and what not, but can you not just control it through the software running on the PCH?
Also, does anyone use the PCH to interface with an instance of Sabnzbd running on the server machine? Is that even possible?

I know this has been brought up before, but I have yet to see someone add anything to the wiki or provide a definitive solution.
I am using a Hauppauge HVR-1250 tuner card on Verizon FiOS TV, which on 1.2.9 works (GB-PVR thinks it is a 1850), but on 1.2.13 I get varied results on a channel scan. It almost never finds any channels with PSIP data (the local HD channels). I can perform the scan 10 times and get 10 different results.
I recently setup a new box and ended up installing 1.2.9 then doing the channel scan, mapping them, then upgrading to 1.2.13. Just want to document this for anyone else, so they don't waste HOURS screwing with 1.2.13 QAM.
For years, I've wanted to get involved in making a homebrew PVR. Early on, I decided was the program I wanted to use. I bought a new computer, and I think my old computer has the necessary specs to use it as a PVR full-time. It's a P4 duo processor. I want to install a bigger hard drive and a tuner card that has hardware encoding (and more memory, if necessary).
The problem is that I've opened that old computer up, and it doesn't have any PCIe slots, only 3 PCI slots (one being occupied by the 56K modem I never use) and an AGP slot. And I don't know much about this stuff, but researching it, they appear to be half-length cards (about 7 cm deep). I know that they're 120 pin, 32 bit, and 3.3 V. I don't know if any of that means anything.
I always planned on going with a Hauppauge tuner card, but the only PCI one, the 1600, is full size, I think?
My computer has a ton of USB slots. I see people have used the Hauppauge 1950 (which connects via USB 2.0 and has a hardware encoder). Should I get that, or does anyone have any other recommendations for USB or PCI half-length slots.
I don't have cable. I'm only planning OTA digital signals from an antenna, in case that matters. Bonus points if I can install more than one tuner so I can watch live TV while recording.
