New problem, cropped up without changing anything. Have not loaded latest release yet.
The last few nights, after 10pm, I go to live TV to watch the news (say 10:15 or so), and find I cannot get to the tuner. Instantly goes back to main menu when I hit "play" on a show in the guide. I then exit GBPVR and find that the recording service shows the show that was supposed to end at 10 (or at 9:00) is still recording, thus tying up the tuner. I hit "restart recording service" to free up the tuner, but since I am recording HD on ms-dvr format, the file is corrupt and not watchable.
This all worked well before. Perhaps a MS update loaded, but no new items from your site since it worked.
I am attaching logs form last night. CSI Miami was supposed to end at 10, still going at 10:35. I attached all logs with yesterday's date. This happened tonight too with another show.
The GB interface (the newer one, PV...) is running in "gbpvr" screen saver, as my wife had changed TV input to watch a DVD on regular player rather than computer. Often when recordings are going on we have either exited your program or playing another show while recording. Lately no time, and most shows are re-runs anyway.
I do note that the pre and post padding is not an issue (2 or 3 minutes). I also note that we have exceeded the "keep" value (3), and so after recording starts a prior version is deleted. When all was smooth in the season we were not hitting that limit. Don't know if that makes a difference, just grasping at straws here.
During this sample the video is streaming in the background so the only missing piece is being able to send the video to the hardware. There's lots of CPU left too, this is running about 25% CPU and sub hasn't even had his hands on it to do optimize it.
I am not sure what has happened, but I no longer have audio for Live TV or for recordings. Attached are my logs. No drivers have been updated. Recordings also have no sound in other media players, but my audio is working fine in other applications. Audio cables are correctly plugged in.
It appears to me that GB-PVR will make two attempts to tune in a channel for a scheduled recording. If the second attempt fails, the recording is marked as "Failed." Each of the attempts results in a small 6 KB file on disc, rather than the expected large video file. When I see those tiny files, I know I'm going to be disappointed.
My casual observation is that 1.2.13 is somewhat more prone to this behavior than previous versions of GB-PVR, but I don't have any firm data to support that. I record far-off OTA signals that can vary in strength based on weather and obstructions, so there are a lot of variables present.
Is there a setting in config.xml that will increase the length of time GB-PVR will attempt to lock a channel before giving up? How about increasing the number of tuning attempts to more than two? I'd like to see if a slight increase in these settings eliminates those "6 KB shows." Thanks.
I just downloaded gbpvr 1.2.13 and made my first recordings last night. When I play them I hear no sound. Originally I had a problem with no sound on live TV but found that I needed to select the onboard audio card in my windows settings for default audio. I am sure that there is something that I am missing but cant figure it out. Is there no sound because the recording did not include audio somehow? Is there no sound because the playback settings are wrong?
Hey everyone, it's been a LONG time. I'm just getting back to trying GB-PVR again, since I've decided to rebuild my htpc.
Anyway, I ran into the common errors using Yapi2Xml, and I think I might've found a "fix". I got the runtime error, subscript out of range, as well as the non-fatal could not download lineups.
My fix was to rename MSINET.OCX in the plugin directory to MSINET.OC_ or anything else, basically backing up the file without deleting it (just in case I'm wrong here). The program works just fine after that, so maybe it's a bad hook in the specific version of the file included with the plugin. I hope this helps someone.
Mods, of course, delete if this post is in the wrong spot or it's so obvious it hurts, but I couldn't find it from searching.
it'd be good to see share ratio on the torrent info panel. Or if you're feeling really adventurous some checkboxes in the setup to select which info columns from the webui are featured on the gbpvr info panel...
I recently had to reload XP on my machine and after installing GP-PVR, I can't get fullscreen to work correctly. Whenever I try and increase the size of the PVRX2 window, the actual area that has the live TV in it remains at a static size, whereas the PVRX2 window gets bigger. So I'm left with a little box for the TV and black areas all around. This wasn't happened before the reload, so something must have changed. I tried both my Cyberlink decoder and the "MPEG Video Decoder" one. I'm using VMR9 Custom. Switching to VMR Fullscreen Exclusive gives me fullscreen, but I like to be able to have my TV in a windows also.
