I've setup GB-PVR on an XP (SP2) machine, it's working fine, the channels from a Cinergy 1200 DVB-S are scanned, tuning and recording works, the EPG is working everything looks good.

I've installed the same version of GB-PVR on another machine (XP SP2) and am trying to get it set up as a client.

On the server machine I've setup the GBPVR dir and another directory for sharing the live TV/recordings. On the client machine I've configured it as a client and pointed it at the server (ip address and shares)

Here's what's working on the client (File Sharing Mode):

I can see the EPG
I can record a program
I can playback a recording

What isn't working is Live TV or selecting a program from the TV Guide.

The server seems to start the recording OK but the client screen remains black and hangs. GB-PVR then needs to be stopped.

If I change it to streaming mode I can still see the EPG but even the ability to watch recorded programs is gone.

In both cases (stream and file) when I choose a live TV program in the EPG and select watch the GBR Tray icon turns green and the status box shows "Live TV" and the prorgram name .dvr-ms

When I stop the client, the server recording stops and a dvr-ms file of the program that I was trying to watch live is left behind in the Live TV Buffer dir. if I then copy the .dvr-ms file from the buffer Dir over the network to my client machine I can play it fine by selecting it in Video Library, so it doesn't look like a codec problem on the client machine?

I've attached a log from both the client and server where the client is trying to connect and play live TV - any ideas? anything obvious I've missed?

• Configuration form hides option to launch GBPVR.exe if the file does not exist.
  
• Slimm GBPVR will always launch PVRX2 if GBPVR.exe does not exist.
  
• Added ProcessPriorityOfGBPVR to Registry settings.
  
• Tray Configuration Startup understands new and old shortcut for GB-PVR Tray.
  

• Deleting a recording that still exists on the menu but doesn't exist on the disk no longer results in a Directory Not Found exception.
  
• Turn Off and Restart operations now cancelled if GB-PVR is recording.
  

Hi Sub, with the demise of GBPVR (vs PVRX2) can you invisage a time in the future where the old UI can't be used as a client?
I assume this would only happen due to some radical change to the DB or recording service - but if so would you consider legacy support?

ePSXe 1.70 has been released after nearly 5 years since 1.60 so far it seems buggy as I have all the lod plugins and the developers forgot to include zlib1.dll that is required :-(

I will let you know if it still works on GameZone.

I am running Windows XP Pro with SP3. I have a Hauppauger HVR1250 tuner board. I just installed the latest GBPVR 1.2.13 and I can not get the Map Digital to EPG to run to completion. It consistantly crashes. I install the Windbg tools so I could capture the failure. I have a zip with the .dmp file that was created and my config.xml but I can not get the attachment process in the forums to work.

I have a PCH that I am currently figuring out how to get setup. I am curious though, it looks like there are two implementations of the GBPVR client for the PCH. MVPMC dongle and MVPMCX2. I don't really see much of an explanation on what each one is used for, that one is better than the other, etc. I have the mvpmcx2 working so far, I haven't checked out the dongle yet. Should I? Does it have any advantages? One of the primary things missing on the PCH for the wife acceptance factor is comskip. I got the PCH because I wanted to be able to watch full wide screen high-def content via the network in my house with the GPBVR computer as the source of it all. So far it seems to be the best solution.

Anyone know what they do, what the purpose of these new features are??
