Not strictly GBPVR related - but I cannot get the Audio working on my MSI K9N6GM board. Its RealTek HD Audio (7.1) using a ALC883 chipset. Have installed all the suppplied MB drivers and tried the latest from the msi website. However no sound device ever appears.

Ironically when I boot the boad using Linux (Kubuntu) the sound works fine and is definitly the RealTek 883.

Any suggestions?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but on the "now streaming" screen I can skip the stream forward 10 secs when viewing with VLC (but have never been able to do this with WMP)

Is there some way of changing the skip time, or a freeform box to enter a skip to time command?
Sometimes when recording the football, I will see the first half at home, and want to watch the second when I get to work - meaning I have to either let the first half run all the way through, or stop the recording when I leave home, and then start it again.

I have installed Hauppauge 4000 and for terrestrial digital for free to air in NZ. I have tried a variety of MPG4 codecs but only get blank screen. Has anybody experience of setting this up - what settings do i need to do? I have scanned the channels and they have been recognised and identified in the channel list. When i select a valid channel - just blank. I have an analog card (150) working well.

this is sort of a wish and a question

if you can watch dvr-ms files on a mvp (been transcoded on the fly)
why cant this happen with a client setup up when using streaming mode?

i tried setting my pc to transcode dvrms to mpeg but was only about 50% successful
so i cant even change them all to mpeg which would be the ideal

95% of the time GB-PVR works fine, i have a MVP unit and together they work a treat.

however, i have intermittantly been having problems with live TV.
i have a dual nova-500 digital card... afew times i have tried to watch Tv, i get the no more recorders free, 'dont watch tv' option and nothing else. this when i am watching or recording nothing at all.
today , whilst recording something and wanting to watch another program, i got the dont watch TV or watch what it was recording.
i didnt want to restart the recording service - which always sorts this problem - by remote desktopping onto the gbpvr server, so just decided to watch an mpeg that i had taped previously. which worked fine until, the remote stopped responding.. no buttons working at all - which is also an intermittant problem
also today the recording it was doing, seems to have stopped halfway through the hour it should have been on for.

i really do love this program and the flexibilty it allows, but this is very frustrating indeed, moreso for the mrs than for I..

i have attatched my logs in the hope of some solution i have had a look through but nothing leaps out.
not sure if it will help, but was recording scrapheap challenge today at about 6pm, and then starting watching the joy of nanny mcphee - ladies choice again
i have restarted the pc since then and grabbing the logs, not sure if that clears some stuff ..??

Beginner question.

The IRRemoteBlaster works fine with WinTV.
With GB-PVR, I can use it to change channels - ONLY.
Have tried setting up HIP - with no success.

How can I use this remote with GB-PVR?

I know there is a checkbox in the config for supporting daemontools, my question is how do you access it from within gbpvr? I have some ISOs that I'd like to watch in gbpvr and I'm not sure exactly how to load them.

For some reason, my DVB EPG isn't updating at the time I specify in the config. When I run an update on the capture source it works perfectly however.

Any ideas? At the moment I need to update it manually every few days to prevent the guide becoming empty...

i am new to pvr's and have a few questions in order to get me started;

currently i have comcast explorer 8300hd dvr and keep running out of space for hd movies shows etc.

i would like to run my comcast hd cable independantly and not use the comcast hd dvr.

the questions i have are as follows;

what pc capture card / tuner card should i use to record hd cable - have looked at both happ and avermedia

how do i control the gbpvr software with a remote and what model do you recommend

I am experiencing a problem relating to the Category flagging of movies.
I flag a movie under a category and the category disappears from within GBPVR and from the default category list under the “Plugin Settings” tab. The movie is still visible under the all movies tab within GBPVR and is assigned to the correct category.

I have tried assigning under the Manage Content and Manage Categories tabs with no success.

Am I missing something?

I am running MovieWiz plugin is v1.0.15.3 under GBPVR 1.2.9.
