Hi, See attechment. I have installed GBPVR on windows XP Pro with three Technotrend BDA devices (s-1400, s-3200 (=skystarHD) and connect 3600.

During channel scan frequently crashes (see screenprint).

I have attached config.exe log files.

(BTW: I installed all the required software, also put the ttBdaDrvApi_Dll.dll in the GBPVR dir. I have dvbviewer / dvbserver installed and have no problems there)

I have followed the Wiki pages to install ZProcess for converting dvr-ms files.

I have created a profile called TV to try and convert files to PAL 352x288, in mpeg 4 format.

When using the interacive menu it always creates at 640x688 no matter what I set.

So I decided to create a batch file.

cd C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\third party\ztools

zprocess2 %1 TV Auto

pause

When I drag a file onto it, all it does is ask if I wish add settings into GBPVR and then goes to the Interactive menu.


Help would be appreciated in getting either the interactive to use my TV settings, or modifying the batch so it works.

Hi guys - will i notice a big difference in the quality of recording when i make the change from my analog PVR-150's to a NOVA 500 DVB-T card ?

at the mo my recordings from the pvr-150's are kinda blurring on moving pictures.... I originally thought it could have been my S-Video out to my LCD that was causing it but now i reckon its my pvr bad recording that is causing the issues because playing a dvd today looked pretty sweet

I have been using GB-PVR for a short while and reasonably happy. One problem I have is that sometimes recordings simply don't happen when I expect them to.

A case in point is tonight I had it set to manually record the TV3 news from 6 to 6:30 then "3rd Rock From the Sun" from 6:30 to 7 and finally "All New Simpsons" from 7:30 to 8.

The news was recorded but nothing else, bummer really.

I don't know if it was that my machine was too busy with other things and it got stuffed up or that PVRX2 was open - doing what I don't know (because I can't always get to the TV because of my 3yr old).

I have a hauppauge HVR3000 using DVB-S and freeview. My PC is 3GHz with a couple of gig of RAM.

I am attaching all the relevant stuff I can think of, any help is much appreciated. I did try to look at the forums previously and today, but it's a really vague problem and hard to search on.

As great as the iTunes interface is, it doesn't seem very well suited to controlling from a remote control. In search of a solution to this problem, I've started looking for a plugin to allow control of iTunes from GBPVR. I haven't found such a plugin. Has such a plugin been developed? Is there a more simple or elegant way to solve the problem that I have not seen?

In my search, I've also come across Apple's SDK documenting the iTunes COM interface, so such a plugin seems certainly possible to implement.

So as nice as it is to have my PC be a nicely functional DVR thanks to GB-PVR, I have a minor complaint. While the programs I record (or view in timeshift mode) are certainly of a watchable quality, I can still tell that I'm watching something that my computer has recorded, rather than a channel I am viewing directly with my TV's tuner. This is most noticeable in the category of smoothness of playback: objects that move in a certain range of speeds (my guess is that this range corresponds to the order of 1 pixel per frame) are blurred on the PC, but crisp on TV -- this is most visible with scrolling text as in news tickers. My playback doesn't look obviously choppy as though the PC is struggling to keep up (see hardware list at the end of this post), but it just doesn't look as good as I'd like to think it could.

Have any of you been successful in making the computer "transparent," at the very least in live-preview mode but, more importantly, in the DVR operation that makes using a computer worthwhile? If so, what hardware and settings are you using? Do your results/approach depend on whether you are looking at analog or digital content?
Or, is this difference merely a "fact of life" that we, as homebrew PVR users, must merely come to accept as an intrinsic limitation of HTPCs?

I'm running an Athlon-64 LE 1600 on an AMD 740-based motherboard (integrated Radeon HD 2100 graphics), 2GB of DDR2-800, and a Hauppauge HVR-1800 tuner. Operating system is Windows XP Pro SP2; GB-PVR version is 1.2.9.

I thought I would give Uburadio another shot at setting up after my last attempt dodnt go so well.
I downloaded version 1.3 from the wiki and went through the installer.

issue 1. after stopping recording services it came up with the retry, coninue ignore dialog box for commonGBpvrutillies I selected ignore and it carried on.

I setup the Ubu service recording controller.

issue 2. WebRadio appears in the PVRx2 1.2.9 menu, but I am unable start it, a quick look at the logs seemed to suggest skin issues, see logs below. I copied the UBuradio directory to the skin2 directory as there wasnt one there and that didnt help.

Thinking this was because of the earlier issue in the installation I closed the only thing open for GBPVR (GBPvrtray) and reinstalled this time no errors and installation went all the way through.

Issue 2 is still there and the log is shown below.

I realise this question has been asked many times before but I wanted to ask it again because things change and both gbpvr and vista have probably moved on since the question was last posted...

So... Ive been using gbpvr for a good 2 years udner XP and have never quite got 100% there with my setup.
I've always had the odd issue with general playback especially after standby.. FSE was pretty good, but never quite seemed to work after returning from standby.
Ive recently tried EVR under XP but that wasnt great either.

Im not knocking GBPVR here at all, I think its a truly exceptional peice of software, Sub is great, and the community support is also excellent.

I decided recently to try gbpvr under vista on my system to see if playback was better, so today I installed it, and was surprised to find my system is pretty much fully supported.

My setup isnt that great, i have an amd sempron 2800, 1 gb ram, a radeon 9250, a nova-t-pci + nova-t usb.


So Ive installed vista got mce running, and managed to get at least the pci tuner working and mce seems to work really well, playback is great, standby seems to work well, havent tried scheduling a recording yet though...

I never used any plugins or extensions for gbpvr, just the standard setup, so id like to ask the questio again...

What are the pro's & cons of gbpvr vs vista mce?

At the moment I havent managed to get vista to work with both my tuners so I guess thats 1 thing gbpvr would probably give me, also I think the menu's of gbpvr although less slick than vista I still prefer them for borwseing recordings / pictures so thats another +...

But am I still missing something that gbpvr gives me over vista mce?

At the moment Im still intending to install gbpvr and am optimistic that since mce playback seems good I should find gbpvr playback is improved over xp.

Is there any reason gbpvr will give me problems under vista?

Sorry for putting a number of different questions in one post.. I'm 3/4 of the way through a nice bottle of wine so Im rambling somewhat

I keep on using it by mistake as I have Live TV on a second monitor and use the mouse scroll wheel with the wrong thing focussed and it has freezes the livetv replay for a minute or so, before it comes back.

and what is it doing?
