Can ZProcess be used to transcode MOV files to MPG?

Have used GBPVR with MediaMVP for about a year. Recently upgraded to v1.2.9 and found I didn't have enough video card to use PVRX2. Upgraded to ATI Radeon 9800XT. I swapped out quartz.dll to get things to work - and make WMA work. I had things working - live TV, recording,etc. But recording was not good quality, and only recorded part of the movie. I then tried to change a few things - and live TV stopped - it works thru MediaMVP, just not thru PC. Reloaded drivers and Hauppauge WinTV - seems to work in WinTV so the adapter is still working. Changed codecs several times - I can view recordings, but not live TV. Need help with optimum settings!

when i record manually i have a "delete" button. scheduled recordings havent this button. how can i delete them??

Windows Just gives me a program execution error and it quits.

Also my media MVP servers don't start up automatically, I have to manually start them.

How do post the logs so someone can look at them? Also is logging turned on by default. Because I haven't started it back up again so the files should be there.

I'm using a Dual core 6320, Hauppauge 150, plenty of disk space

Since GBPVR just works, it's been running on my basement server with an old PVR-250 for what seems like forever now.

I'm thinking about rebuilding the PVR box, and was looking at adding a HVR-1250, but not sure that's the right choice. I haven't followed alot of this stuff for quite some time..

I do *no* playback at all on the box. In fact, I don't even use GBPVR for anything other than recording. I could probably use something else, but I'm familiar with it, and it has all the neat hooks in the right places to massage my media the way I want.

All playbox is done on xbox's running XBMC.

Today, I record analog cable, and then post-process with ffmpeg to convert to xvid. I do this for 2 reasons, mainly because interlaced video looks like crap on the xbox, so I de-interlace with ffmpeg. xvid files are smaller, so I can save more shows this way as well.

I'm not so concerned with HD, since the xbox can't support it, but better quality in == better quality out. So I'd like to grab HD and QAM from the cable, then convert that to xvid.

I thought of looking for a card capable of recording xvid, but I'm not sure any do, and wasn't sure if/what support GBPVR would have. It seems to want cards with onboard mpeg2.

Which leads me to my main question, will the HVR-1250 be suitable for simply recording, then post-converting, since as far as I can tell, it lacks onboard mpeg2?

I've had good luck with Hauppauge cards, and I want a set and forget setup, but if someone has a better recommendation, I'm open to suggestions. Needs to be cheap though.

For those of you who are saddled with only built-in graphics,[like laptop users]
if you have at least an Intel GMA 950 you can get full HD playback, liquid smooth..

Assuming you've got the graphics drivers setup, just use evr renderer, and ATI Avivo codecs...[atidvcr.dll] and you'll get perfect deinterlacing up to 1080i for sure.

really surprised me how nice it was for this lowly graphics chip..tho i have an idea the 256 bit core is why it works so well...

Hello,

On GB PVR, which I installed just yesterday, I go to the TV Guide and I select a program to watch, I then get a message saying "No Signal - Check your connection" and two full signal bars. After a few seconds, the audio from that TV channel starts playing.

This is very strange, I am getting a full signal of audio but not video.

I have a Happuauge Nova-T-Stick (USB). It works fine with the Happuauge software.

I tried to install a few months ago with no success and got side tracked with PC errors and stuff.

Now I'm going to install it as I have a stable(ish) system.

I'm using PVRX2. I guess I only need to add the tag reader (which is best / fastest?) then install ML2.

Anything else I should be aware of for installing ML2?


One other question - Is the Album/artist/title view configurable?

So right now I'm running a small Nanny cam off my computer (For my dog). I can't get the friggent ATI capture card on my video card to work, so I'm stealing one of the tuners off my PVR500. Tuner 1 specifically.

Of course, the first recording I have uses Tuner1, and my nanny cam shows what's on TV.

I've switched the Order of the Tuners so tuner 2 is first in the list.

Is there an easy way to disable a tuner without removing it from the list?
