Hello I am trying out nextpvr with a Hauppauge 955Q , wintv10 seems to have a similar problem..
Unable to see any video output from the web or client.exe . Tried recording a few different channels and I just get a blank 0 KB .ts file, it successfully scanned QAM channels.
I saw a post saying you needed to install additional Graphics feature to windows 10 apps, tried running as admin -
Not sure if this is a transcoding issue or a hardware issue , or if the issue resides between the chair and the computer...
Is there a way to delete (or edit?) the servers that are listed when the app opens? I accidentally entered a bad address one time and I haven't found a way to delete it. The problem is that once I select the "bad" address, it remembers the selection and won't let me select the valid one. The app stays in this loop until I close and restart it.
I hope you can give me some advise to reduce failed trials
I‘m trying to replace a broken VU DUO2 with internal hdd.
My expectation:
Recording up to two DVB-C streams while watching one recording, which is probably still being recorded.
Hardware so far:
RPI4B/2GB, SD-Card
Hauppauge WinTV DualHD
Ethernet-Connection (no wifi) to Synology NAS (DS216+ … DS920 coming soon) and wired connections to all other relevant devices
AppleTV 4K 2021
Samsung TV (4K)
I‘d prefer using the TvOS-App as way for watching recordings and would use web-if for searching/ programming.
I gave Kodi (LibreElec) with NextPVR (Docker ARM32) a short try, but recording and live streaming didn‘t work well at all. Needed reboot every day, many failed recordings. Main problem was probably handling of tuners.
As I don‘t need kodi as a player, I switched to native NextPVR on Raspberry Pi OS (fresh installI).
Tuners work stable now, but watching a recording which is sill beeing recorded was stuttering and failing several times.
So:
Do I expect too much with RPi as platform?
Should Kodi do the job better? Should I better continue working on that?
Bottleneck with network reading / writing simultaneously?
With TvOS-App I didn‘t get Dolby Digital 5.1 … is it by design of the app or a misconfiguration?
Thank you very much … I really love NextPVR and would like to avoid buying and testing again and again
Hi. Here is what I experienced. Log file attached.
Watching live TV with client. I had paused live tv a few times so I was some minutes behind the broadcast. A show was recording on the other tuner. I hit function F1 to bring up the TV guide overlay. The tv guide appeared OK over the live TV. I navigated to a future time slot on the same channel and selected a show to record. Hit enter, then selected quick record. At that point everything stopped/froze. Keyboard inoperative. After a period of time windows offered to quit NPVR or to WAIT longer. While waiting the client crashed and the desktop was back.
I restarted the client. went back to live tv and repeated my above steps. client crashed again.
Over to you to investigate for future. Many thanks for all that you do. Using the latest windows 10 PRO with all updates applied. 19043.1288
i have been having an issue with recordings auto deleting if I stop them while watching. I've had this issue ever since I swithched to version 5 but since I don't record often I've hoped new updates would solve it but that has not been the case. I just was watching the nascar race and when I stopped the recording it was gone.
I recently had to move my video folders to another drive since my old drive died.
Since then, the recordings are not including the season number and episode number for some reason.
Is there a way to resolve this?
Here are my Recording Settings:
[X] Use S01E01 file naming format if possible
[X]Use Movie.Name.(YEAR) format for movies if possible
[X] Use file names with Plex date format
[X] Replace spaces with period character
[ ] Create season directory if possible
[ ] Avoid duplicate recordings where possible
[X] Look for alternate airings on unresolved conflicts
It seems that NPVR will not start in case WiFi is disabled:
