Today I updated NextPVR to the v5.2.2.211017 release. The installation appeared to complete without any issues, and I was able to connect to the server using the web client. However when trying to open the Windows desktop client, which is how I usually access NextPVR I got a .Net Framework error as follows. My logs are attached.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the closed captions come on as default on all channels. I have verified that the global closed captions setting is off in the Roku (Settings -> Captions) . I don't see any options within the client to turn on or off. Maybe I missed it somewhere. It is just annoying. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
I have the old Roku 2 - 4210X (still working perfectly) with v.10.0.0 build 4209-04
I believe that you said you are going to be making a few tweaks to knewc, so I wanted to let you know about 2 situations where I still consistently get timeouts. Hopefully, you and/or sub can make some adjustments to improve these situations. This post is about the first one. EDIT: I'll post about the 2nd one when I get log files showing it.
When I go to play a recording stored on a drive (even an internal SATA drive) which Windows has spun down, knewc seems to always timeout.
Look in this kodi.log at 07:55:12. (Sorry the kodi.log file is so large. I haven't rebooted that RPi in a while.)
The only way that I have found to "recover" is to hit the Exit/Back button which takes me back to the recording list. However, it has the significant problem of then resetting the resume point to 0, so I can no longer resume!
I have tried to search for information on this subject, but have not found anything that specifically answers my question.
Is it possible to automatically move the recordings from one directory to another after a certain period of time (e.g. 8 hours after finishing the recording)?
I would not like to simply move them, because I would like them to continue to be visible in NextPVR.
I'm using Linux/Docker version on arm32v7 if it matters.
I'm still seeing some shows stuttering quite badly after the last couple of updates, when using the NextPVR.exe client, to the point that they are unwatchable. They play fine in VLC and Kodi. I've posted a short chunk of one of files that stutters the worst at https://www.dropbox.com/s/79n4qq9719aef7...nk.ts?dl=0
Could someone make an extra to add the 13 live channels from Discovery+ into NextPVR please?
I'm currently using the D+ Kodi add-on by Dis90 which is very good but it does not record or timeshift. You can pause the stream but when you un-pause, playback resumes from the current point in time - there is literally no point pausing it whatsoever!
Another reason I'd like this functionality within NextPVR is that it would resolve channel group and channel numbering conflicts that arise when trying to use more than one PVR client addon in Kodi. Syncing Kodi channel groups with the backend causes Kodi to ditch any groups you might have created yourself - if the channels all come from NPVR then I can create my custom groups on the server and Kodi won't keep deleting them!
I'm sure Martin will jump on this right away and get me going.........
I'm trying to set up a UNC recording path where there is a space in the folder name.
i.e. "TV Recordings"
I have tried many different ways/characters and can't find the right combo.
I could just rename the directory to "Recordings", but I would like to know how to do this.
Thanx.
I have updated to 5.2.2(211017)
Soon after it had an issue!
when playing recorded TV the program started fine and then a few seconds in the video darkens 50% ish
Can still see it and sound is fine, it’s simply too dark to watch
I have tried restarting PC, updated the Nvidia drivers, doing a fresh recording still no resolution
I hadn’t changed my settings in decoders
Going direct to my TV (TS) file it plays fine!
Oddly other movies etc work fine via NPVR so it’s just the TS files

Having just made the switch from v4 to v5 I find I am having a problem with Update EPG.
I have been using XMLTV GUI Grabber from birtles.org.uk to obtain the guide data as an .xml file from DigiGuide for years.
All has been well up to this point with v4 which when it called update.bat it downloaded all the Channel data.
But with v5 when Update EPG runs it calls the update batch file in scripts which in turns starts XmltvConsole.exe.
When this runs it finishes after grabbing about a third of the channel data and then writes an .xml file of about 14,000 Kb.
If I run the XmltvConsole.exe manually or run the update.bat manually it grabs all the channel data and returns an .xml file of about 58,000 Kb.
I cannot find out why this happens unless there is some kind of timeout in v5.
I have found a fudge to fix this by removing the update.bat from scripts and creating a Windows Schedule task to run XmltvConsole.exe at 07:00 and then set NPVR v5 to Update the EPG at 07:10.
This then reads the fully downloaded .xml and updates the EPG.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this so NPVR v5 runs the Update without the extra step of running a schedule task as well as Update.
i have a tv tuner card in my laptop i constructed 2 years ago and i like it. looking tv on my computer and being able to report it without problems is quite cool. the best problem is the software my card came with is essentially dogshit. it's called tvcenter and it has a difficult time mapping channels reliably.
i'm trying to watch to notable bowl right now but once I pick the nbc channel it indicates cbs. the cbs channel also shows cbs. now not certain what passed off but it changed into working very these days. to restoration this i ought to do a prolonged channel experiment which takes about 30 min. in short this software is pretty unreliable that is unfortunate because i sincerely like it's feature set. every body recognise of anything else out there?showboxspeed test
