I use Moviewiz and mess around moving files atound all the time and lose mtda of the mpg and when I use mpgimport to rebuild my database I get weird date names if I lost metadata on a file.

Since we are essentialy tagging our files with the internet datbase I was wondering if anyone thought of a way to rebuild the metadata using the moviewiz info so that files could be easier managed if metadata was lost.people have hundreds of movies and i'm sure many have had to re input and search again.....

and what about record files that could storefile info in each movie directory that it sits in and read too?

For those having DVD playback problems, a helpful reminder from me to you:
check your audio codec under the DVD tab in the config utility.

I spent hours debugging the video codec only to discover it was the audio codec causing my problem.

The symptom was that the DVD would play the textual disclaimer that
the director's commentary does not reflect that of the distributors, etc, etc.
(Note - there was no sound at this point.)

Then it played about 1.5 seconds of the animated main menu (with sound)
before hanging the DVD playback and all of the PVRX2 process. (I would
have to kill the PVRX2 process and restart it manually.)

Once I changed the audio codec on the DVD tab to match
that on the PLAYBACK tab, everything worked great.

Today I switch from cable to analog antenna and changed everything at schedules direct but some of the channels still show the old channels and not the new ones. I have tried to empty the EPG and then updating but nothing seems to work. I know it is something I am doing wrong but...

I have a projector (that takes DVI) that I would like to use with the PCH. If I use a HDMI-to-DVI cable that goes to the projector, can I still use the SPDIF audio to my receiver to provide 5.1 audio? Or does using HDMI out confine the audio to that route?
I guess if I use the component video out, then the SPDIF audio should work, but I already have the component video inputs in use.
I'm just trying to figure out if I need to upgrade to a receiver that has HDMI inputs and outputs before I can use the PCH with GBPVR to full effect.
Any thoughts?

I have installed the latest version of MovieWiz, but i throws errors in the logs, and it doesn't load.What have i done ?

My setup:
E6420 cpu
Asus P4B mobo
8600GT graphics

Problem 1: I have a problem with recording as the audio is out of synch and I cannot skip ahead as it freezes the video.

Problem 2: Live TV - the sound has audible blips and pops almost like when you record sound and max out the levels.

Could all this be caused by the Monogram AAC decoder? I have the latest version.

When I watch live tv, or a show while it's being recorded, the video freezes after a couple of minutes, but the audio keeps playing. I can go back to the menu and start playing again for a couple of minutes, but then the same thing happens. Any idea where to start looking? I noticed that the PVRX2.exe-native.log is full of these lines: "Sequence header indicates: 720x576 ar: 0". And by full, I mean that it repeats like 20 or more times per second.

I'm looking for any suggestions.

I've been trying various mencoder options with comskip commercial cutting and was recently trying the telecine option (-mpegopts tsaf:telecine ).

The output file is about 17% smaller than with just cutting, and after viewing several spots within the output mpeg file it is acceptable quality (to me) but the audio isn't synced at all. Note by non-synced I mean it progressively gets worse so that by the end of the video it is playing audio from much earlier in the file.

I've even tried a two step process with -mpegopts tsaf in the first commercial-cutting pass and -mpegopts tsaf:telecine in the 2nd copy-only pass (no edl cutting). The audio IS synced after cutting only but is lost after 2nd telecine pass.

1st pass
mencoder original.mpg -edl original.edl -oac copy -ovc copy -of mpeg -mpegopts tsaf -o cut_video.mpg

2nd pass
mencoder cut_video.mpg -oac copy -ovc copy -of mpeg -mpegopts tsaf:telecine -o telecine.mpg


I'm no expert on mpeg 3 audio, but I'm certain the video has time stamps periodically in the GOPs, so if there were any audio timestamps the player could syncronize them.

Hi again. I'm about to buy this card for about $80 and I just wondered if I will need a splitter on my comcast cable to pick up the QAM and regular cable at the same time, would I need one cable going into the ATSC port and another cable going into the NTSC?

I'm hoping I can get the QAM HD channels and NTSC channels with one cable going into the card?

Can anyone please send me the bios image from a tv-tuner with Ati Theater 550 chipset.
I have a PowerColor Theater 550 PRO PCI Express (T55E-P03), but the bios from any card with this chipset shoud do, as it's a reference card.
My bios was erased by mistake while updating the video card bios.
The bios can be saved with WinFlash2002.
The image should be 256 bytes long.
