Hi,
I'm struggling to make NextPVR work inside docker running on a Synology NAS.
I've setup the container both using host network or bridge (adding the SATIP_DEVICES with the URL of my OctopusNet), but I can find no devices.
Also, if I try to import a m3u playlist, nothing happens, so I suspect there's something wrong with my setup.
In the logs I see
Code:
2021-07-13 22:47:10.596 [DEBUG][10] address: 10.1.0.2
2021-07-13 22:47:10.608 [ERROR][10] Unexpected error getting IP address: System.Net.Internals.SocketExceptionFactory+ExtendedSocketException (00000005, 0xFFFDFFFF): Name or service not known
at System.Net.Dns.InternalGetHostByName(String hostName)
at System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(String hostNameOrAddress)
at NShared.LocatorService.DetermineIPAddress()
I recently tested the nvidia transcoder in npvr and I find I am limited to viewing 2 streams. I have a quadro p2200 gpu which is not limited to 2 nvenc streams like the gtx/rtx cards. Please remove the limit from the transcoder.
I was glad to see that the ability to import side by side style XML file has been incorporated in to v5.1.3.210711, but it doesn't seem to work as I would expect yet.
I have had a problem with my normal HDHomeRun Quatro and am awaiting a replacement from SiliconDust, so in the meantime I installed NextPVR (v5.1.2.210603) to a spare Windows 10 Pro (64bit) PC which has a TBS 6280 PCie Dual Tuner and used this to record some films. This was fine, but I now need to move these recording to my normal recording library so I copied the .ts and .xml files from the Windows PC to my normal NAS film library.
I updated my RPi server to v5.1.3.210711 and I edited the xml files to change the filename path from Windows format to Linux format. I then tried to import copied the xml files from the NAS but unfortunately this failed ('No recordings imported'). I reviewed the .XML file and eventually ended up having to add <recordings></recordings> and <name></name> (with the relevant film name incorporated) tags to the .XML file before I could get the recordings to be imported.
Ok, so the recordings were made with an earlier version of NextPVR (v5.1.2.210603) so I upgraded the PC version to v5.1.3.210711 and tried another recording with this version. The resulting .ts and .XML files were copied to the NAS as previously but the .XML file was in exactly the same format as the earlier version and, again, I needed to change the filename path (to be expected) and add the <recordings> and <name> tags before I could get the recording to import.
There are no apparent entries in the log file for the failed imports, there used to be in previous versions. I have uploaded the log files and the original/edited XML files for you to see.
Is there a way to sort the "mapping" list by channel name rather than channel number when editing channel details?
When trying to manually map channels the mapping list is sorted by the channel number assigned by SD which makes it REALLY difficult to find channel names.
I have just updated to the latest NPVR and from Kodi epg it is now not possible to save a one off recording.
New timers are fine and one offs from the web interface are OK - just tried the NPVR Client and that's OK as well.
It must be something that changed in the nshared.dll dated 08/07/2021 16:05 as that caused the same thing to happen - reran the installer then to revert.
Logs attached - new log, opened kodi went to live TV and tried smart record on Bargain Hunt. Received Error Unable to save timer.
NPVR & Basic Kodi log attached.
I will have to install the backup in about 5 hours time before the Remote Control owner returns

From reading several posts I concluded that using the VAAPI transcoder setting was possible when watching live TV using the web browser but I have not been able to get it working. It looks like it is going to work but ultimately it fails.
CPU setting works OK, just wanted to see if the VAAPI setting wil work for me.
Is there a technical reason the RecordingsService.StoreMetaData is not available via RecordingsServiceProxy? I'd like to use in in my NextImport to dump the xml file so I can edit it and then update the event_details field. I prefer using API functions over hardcoding database and xml writing.
The reason I want to do this is the season finale of Clarice didn't include the S/E information with the metadata. I'd like to use the XML file as the input for an update, editing that field in the database is cumbersome.
Any ideas on this ?
NPVR is all good except for no channels from Channel9 in Sydney.
Hauppauge winTV-10 & MediaPortal all good and give nine individual channels from provider Channel 9, nothing in NPVR
According to MediaPortal CH9 is
Freq = 191,625 kHz
Band Width = 7 Mhz
Network ID = 4114
Transport ID = 1056
Fresh install of win10 OS, divers etc all up to date. Did the free win7 to win10 free upgrade before it disappears. Win11 may kill off the free win7 upgrade soon.
