  xmltv url
Posted by: techpro2004 - 2021-06-27, 07:52 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (14)

I am in the process of converting an old machine into a secondary dvr with an old hdpvr rocket I have laying around. In any event, I remember seeing somewhere on the forums that npvr now supports an xmltv out feature. this would be helpful to integrate my secondary dvr with my primary. What is the url for the xmltv out. Thanks.

Live TV stops streaming at 7 minutes
Posted by: kevin350 - 2021-06-27, 07:05 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (42)

Updated to 5.1.2.210603 today (from 5.1.1.210329 I believe, but not sure) and now live TV streaming stops at about 7 minutes using either Kodi or broswer. I have also removed the program (without removing data) and re-installed but have the same issue. NPVR is running on a Windows 10 Intel NUC. Log files attached, first attempt was Kodi and second was the browser.
There does not seem to be a delay in the startup when I switch to a channel, and I see that in the "changes" for this newest version that this issue should be fixed but I still see it. Thanks for any help.

Unable to connect to remote server
Posted by: hootie318 - 2021-06-27, 02:38 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (5)

Love the software. First-time, long time.

Sometimes Next just "goes to sleep". I try to open the desktop app and it will say "Unable to connect to remote server"?

I have to run the install or reboot to bring it back to life.

Is there something I can do to connect without install or reboot?

I have attached my most recent log files.

  Manually add recurring recordings
Posted by: tjuhl - 2021-06-27, 02:12 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (17)

Hello, I recently updated to V5 and have had some issues with scheduling recordings.

Due to odd EPG entries ( as NCIS (3:10)) I am adding recurring recordings manually, using Keyword. Problem is these do not work, but shows as errors in the log.

Fun part was after a clean install of v5 it worked, but next day it was broke and I cannot successfully add manual recordings anymore. I assume either EPG update OR running Kodi (Matrix) as client killed it.

Logs are attached with following steps:
Cleared EPG then killed service to remove all logs. Restarted service, retrieved EPG then added two recurring recordings manually, one in the Scheduler window, and one by search for the program then adding it from there.

I hope the logs can shed some light on what I am doing wrong.

Thanks,

Torben

  Live TV malformed errors
Posted by: VCR58 - 2021-06-27, 01:15 AM - Forum: Roku - Replies (5)

Here we are having some stormy/windy weather which makes OTA TV watching a challange. I have the most trouble with the Roku app which ends the stream and displays the malformed error and stops the stream immediatly. Is there any way this can be improved?

The workaround is to watch TV with Kodi on the Firestick 4K which works much better.

Logs are when watching a channel earlier today that frequently stops the stream. This channel was worse than the others but it still happens with the other channels jsut less frequent.

  Schedules Direct not updating
Posted by: digidad - 2021-06-26, 02:10 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (13)

Not sure why but this is the second time in recent months that my updates from SchedulesDirect have stopped working after working fine for a while (ATSC/Canada). Guide is empty. What logs do I need to look at?

  Removing history
Posted by: lemmy999 - 2021-06-25, 08:21 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I have been recording a series and after the videos were edited and encoded to a smaller file size, I deleted the original files.  However I have now found some issues and want to record some of the same episodes again.  I know that I can do a "nextpvr.exe -removehistory", to delete the history, but I assume that deletes all history for all recordings.  Is there any way to manually edit this and only delete the history for one show?

Also, how can I prevent this in the future?  Is the only way to do this is to highlight the recording in nextpvr and click "forget" before deleting it?  That is kind of cumbersome if you have tens or even hundreds of recordings.  Is there a better way?  Thanks.

  Main Menu-TV guide issue
Posted by: Brucek2839 - 2021-06-24, 03:12 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

Hello everyone,
I have found a possible bug where when I boot up Nextpvr client ( On the same computer as the server) I encounter the main menu will pop up with the TV guide not being populated.  I have a click on the screen to pull up the Guide info.
Am I missing something within the settings?
Thank you for your time.

Check all Tuners For a Valid Channel Lock
Posted by: PRBUK - 2021-06-23, 02:18 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Request: Check all Channel_Mapping entries when Tuning a Channel, until a signal lock is obtained

In the current logic, NextPvr seems to select a Tuner (Capture Source) which is 'available' and then attempt to tune from that single Capture Source.  If the channel cannot be tuned on the selected tuner, the recording/live TV fails.

This Enhancement Request is for NextPVR to try the next available tuner if a datastream is not received within a reasonable timeout period and to continue until all mapped tuners for that channel have been tried.

Scenario 1:

The 'first prioriy' tuner(s) is/are not working due to a cable/equipment fault/LNB Obstruction etc - there are other tuners that would tune if they were tried

Scenario 2:

A Channel is mapped (merged) to a Satellite Source and a Terrestrial Source .  The Satellite is transmitted 24 hours per day, but the terrestrial signal is only transmitted for part of the day (usally due to channel sharing due to limited transmission capacity).  If the terrestrial tuners is selected during downtime, the channel cannot be watched.

As a test of Scenario 2, my DVB-S tuners come before the DVB-T tuners.  If 'ReversePriorityForLiveTV' is TRUE, a channel cannot be watched during DVB-T downtime.  If it is FALSE, the channel tunes OK.

A note on Timeouts:  During 'downtime' on DVB-T, there seems to be some form of signal (on a TV, a message is displayed along the lines of 'Programs start at 19:00').  The timeout should take into account the expected data rate for the channel being tuned - a Radio Station will have a much lower data rate than TV
