Anyone ever see this happen to taskmgr?
Posted by: wtg - 2007-11-07, 07:04 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Someone who will remain nameless accessed my system remotely to help diagnose a problem, and afterwards I found my taskmgr running like the image shown below. Notice there's no title bar, no menu, no tabs. You cannot even exit without killing it's own process. I cannot find anyway to make it return to normal.

Has anyone ever seen this before, and does anyone know how to reset it?

  ATSC Recordings won't finish
Posted by: alex9k - 2007-11-07, 06:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Scheduled recordings start fine. However they do not contain the entire show.

GBPVR thinks the recording is done. The logs and the time stamp on the file reflect that. The size of the file is too small, and when viewing, it’s only 5 to 20 minutes.

I’ve made sure that the signal is good, but it’s happening on all the OTA channels. I’ve reinstalled the program but it’s still no go.

I have 2 Fusion 5 Lites. It’s been working fine until now. At first I thought it might be hardware, but it happens on either card. The native app will complete the recording.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  Multiple audio availability on records?
Posted by: condepelayo - 2007-11-07, 04:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,
I am using hauppauge nova-td and was lucky to discover gb-pvr to build my htpc :-)

In Spain we use different pip audio (DVB-T) to cast additional languages (we have regions with two official languages plus the original language).
Commercial decoders allow to change reproduced audio (just the same than DVD audio track change). I would like to use this characteristic into gp-pvr. The closer I got is using audio#2 channels. My channel 5 is Tele5 channel, my 105 channel is Tele5 audio#2. Changing channels I change audio. I need to record both audios to use both audios.

Is there better alternative avilable for multiple audio switching or does it belong to wishlist world ?

HIP MCE trouble with SKIP and REWIND
Posted by: leecole - 2007-11-07, 04:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am using HIP with a MCERemote, and I think I have everything working now except when I am viewung TV Listings, and using the remote. Skip does nothing for me. On keybord Ctrl-> works.
In my HIP profile I have:
Skip >| TRACK+
Rewind |< TRACK-
but those don't work. Do I need some sort of POST value instead of >| ??
If so how do I figure out what the POST value is?
Any ideas, anyone?

  Is this a good setup?
Posted by: blue_sassley - 2007-11-07, 03:53 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi I wanted to know if this setup is a good setup as it works very well in MythTV but I might be looking to switch after I finish some testing.

Dual P3 933 Mhz.
1 GB RAM 133Mhz FSB
Dual PVR-150 Tuners
3 CD/DVD Drives
1 250GB ATA 100 HD
10/100 3Com NIC

2 MeidaMVPs

Now with this setup in MythTV I was able to record two shows... flag one for ads, run both MediaMVPs and one front end client all at once without any issues... is GB-PVR going to be able to handle this too?

Thanks for the feedback ahead of time,
Blue

Hi All,

I found a ATI Radeon X800 Pro AGP 256MB video card and before I buy it I just wanted to know, when I connect the TV
1) Will I be able to use it with GBPVR smoothly?
2) Is it possible to use it with PVRX2?

Thanks in advance

  Time change shifted recordings?
Posted by: redranger - 2007-11-07, 03:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I haven't noticed anyone mentioning this, but when the clocks were set back an hour here in the US last weekend, all of my pending recordings were shifted back an hour. The guide is correct, but shows scheduled before the time change are now scheduled an hour earlier. I know I just need to cancel all the recordings and schedule them again, but I just thought I'd bring up the issue.

  Keep only n number recordings
Posted by: glensh - 2007-11-07, 02:13 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I use the GBPVR feature to only keep n number recordings because I don't want to fill my drive up with children's shows. What I don't like is that it deletes the oldest one (whether it has been watched or not) and records a new one.

I would like an option to not record the new one if the number of saved recordings has reached the maximum. If I want a new one recorded, I will manually delete one of the older recordings.

I understand that the existing way it is implemented is also desirable in some situations, so I understand this would need to be an option, probably off by default.

My PVR computer is also my main family computer and it is always doing a lot of recordings that may never get watched, taking resources from doing other things on the computer. Consider this an environmentally friendly feature, since the computer would be doing far less work than it needs to and using less electricity :-)

bat plugin not possible with v1.0.16?
Posted by: fausto - 2007-11-07, 12:05 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (7)

I was looking at switching back and forth from GBPVR to MVP as decsribed by Cakes in this thread,
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=14064&page=3
but it looks like it's not possible to point to bat files in the add task tab of the config applet. Is this right?
