It would be very convenient to be able to move up/down when in the detailed recording view.
Currently, to see full details of a recording
RECORDINGS/ READY/ pick an entry, one with say 15 individual recordings of the same series/ get the list of 15 / pick one, see if the description is what you wanted. Back up, move to the next, look at the description, repeat.
It would be fun that once you were in the full detail view, up or down arrow would move you to the next recording above or below, still in full detail view.
2 parts that are kind of related, regarding working with my kind-of-low-end setup:
1)
The LCD TV I got is a bit on the low end, 16:10 (not 9) and it doesn't support 4:3.
If it's a good quality signal the stretch watching regular TV (analog cable input) doesn't bug me, if I need to I go to LiveTV mode in GBPVR and put it in pillarbox.
Same thing for DVDs. I usually rip them to the HD so I can treat the output as needed with GBPVR depending on if it is widescreen or not.
I'm not sure what to do with things like the Harry Potter movies. Goblet of Fire is weird. It's supposedly widescreen 2.35:1, but no matter what I do it doesn't "look quite right". Pillarbox gives me the side pillars, but the movie itself has black bars on the top already, the picture looks proportioned properly but it's not using nearly all the real estate, bars all around. If I do "full" it looks proportioned pretty well but I lose a little data on the L and R.
Other (most) 2.35:1 movies look fine, like 1972 "Hopscotch"/ Walter Matthau which per the info is also 2.35:1 widescreen, it looks fine on "full" and I don't seem to lose any data. What is up with that?
And, can I tweak the pillarbox/ etc settings somehow to provide best results for my display in case of watching both 4:3 and 16:9 content? If so, what exactly to do?
Usually I can get it set so that really it's fine/ not enough off to be annoying. But the HP movie bugs me. It might be noticable on others, too, but that's the one I first noticed this with.
Thanks for thoughts/ explanations, even if there isn't a fix for the hardware I have.
2) working with the hardware/ what could I change cheaply for better results?
The TV is Olevia LT23HVX 1024x768 max via d-sub from the computer; the TV has s-video + composite input (choose one, you can't have both hooked up) and component input also. Actual pixel count on the TV is higher but that's all it supports really for input resolution on the d-sub. PVR-350 is in the mix also.
I tried using the s-video out from the 440 or 350 at one point (gbpvr) but there may have been some overlay issue or some other reason I didn't stick with it (hmm.. convenient to have computer on d-sub and DVD on composite perhaps, else I'd have to manually switch cables by hand or with a switch box). I seem to think is had some issue with stutter or audio sync though.
Is there a different graphics card that would perform better, or a different configuration of what I have that theoretically makes more sense? I'd like to use the component input on the TV but I don't have anything at present that generates that, and I hadn't seen anything cheap that did that to buy for the computer.
Right now I have the HTPC going to the d-sub input on the TV, DVD player going to the composite. The s-video is unused as having composite in use removes it from the mix, and component input is idle 'cos I cannot feed it.
I recently redid my gbpvr box and for some reason the ff and rw buttons register as being pushed and makes the video do the pausing action like its going to ff or rw but it doesn't actually move the time forward or back. the skip forward and back work just find and on the previous install the ff and rw worked fine
Any one have any ideas
Thanks
I'm using 1.16 with Schedules Direct, and I've noticed some recurring issues with the guide and conflicts.
For the last month, I've had issues when there is a recording conflict. The "red bar" at the top of the guide will be present , and red not orange (although it's hard for me to see the difference in color sometimes), and the real recording square won't be lit up. so there's be a bar (of some color at the top of the guide to show that there is a recording scheduled, but no place in the actual grid will anything be marked.
If I go to recordings/conflicts, it will show a conflict and the first recording information, when I go to resolve it, there isn't a title (any information at all) given for the conflicting program. I have a popup box with "the "cancel my recording changes" or whatever, and no second program to cancel. There isn't even a blank entry I can navigate to (as if the title weren't being displayed properly but the entry was there)- just the cancel/ go back option.
I thought this ws likely just a corrupt SD update but I've waited awhile for it to be fixed, and rebuilt the EPG (I haven't deleted it, but it updates completely daily plus I've done manual reloads from the PVR GUI.
Anyone seeing an issue like this? I've had PVRX2 running for a few months but this showed up a few weeks ago.
I just cleaned up all the conflicts and I've restarted a lot so logs are purged but next time I see them I'll run through the GUI then peek at the log files.
If it's a known thing that's great and I won't mess around too much. Things seem to record fine, I just have a hard time sorting out conflicts.
I got this to work with ScheduleDirect using the --configure script. I am using version 1.0.8 of gbpvr and the I-xmltv application is dated 26/11/2006. My UpdateEPG.bat contains only one line:
call c:\i-xmltv\i-xmltv.bat
I tried replacing the GBPVRBackendCommon.dll in the gbpvr directory but it didn't help.
apparently 2 issues: socket (and i'm NOT using the MVP) and database locked. are the errors related? just wondering how to stop it from using the socket since i dont need it.
error happens randomly mostly several days apart.

The forum search keeps crapping out on me so I'm posting instead. Hope this hasn't been answered already. If so, please point me to the post.
The EPG in GBPVR is fine, but in PVRX2 all channels say "(no show details)." I am using VistaEPg2XmlTv for guide data. I don't see any errors in the logs.
Hi all,
I'm having trouble getting my TV card to work with GBPVR (it works ok with the DVICO program).
I cannot get it to recognise any Mux filters (I have configured it to use the DVR-MS mux & have re-registered it ie run mpg2splt.ax with regsvr32.exe).
I could only get the program to find channels with the dvico program running in the background. Card is set up with BDA recording plug-in, & using DVB EPG Broadcast as the EPG source.
When running Live TV I can only get a signal with both GBPVR & the dvico program set to the same channel, otherwise I get a No signal detected message.
I am currently using the v3.63.01 driver for the TV card.
thanks
