  Desyncing on livetv
Posted by: madh83 - 2007-11-06, 06:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I just got GBPVR setup and it works pretty well for the most part. However, for some reason some channels are desynced after a while. On NBC especially, I've tried using purevideo's audio decoder to output to my receiver as well as ac3filter and both had the problem. I see some threads about recorded video being desynced, but not for live tv, any advice?

RF remote and dual output video card...
Posted by: saintjo - 2007-11-06, 03:07 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I am looking for a good RF remote that will work with my setup. Any suggestions?
Also, will the remote know to only work with gbpvr and not mess up any other applications? For instance, one person is watching gbpvr and the other is using Word or Excel on the same computer.

My set up is my TV is in one room and the computer is in the room next door. My pc has a dual output dvi card with one going to the monitor and the other to the tv. I have gbpvr being broadcast to the tv.

Thanks

  GBPVR and XMLTV
Posted by: joolzhaines - 2007-11-06, 02:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

HI,

I am trying to use XMLTV to import the channels in GBPVR but when I click update in GBPVR the channel numbers are wrong for SKY, ie BBC is channel 0 not 101 and so on, how can you tell GBPVR or XMLTV what the number are or my channel changer will not work?

Cheers for your help

Joolz

  Freeview EPG in the UK
Posted by: fluffykeith - 2007-11-06, 02:09 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Hi

I'm just looking round to install a new PVR following the demise of Meedio.

I have a question - I read that the EPG (freeview in the UK) is obtained from the over the air transmission. That is, it is not downloaded like xmltv. Is that correct? So I can free myself from the xmltv resetting channels problems I get with meedio and it will just grab the data from the air just like my freeview set top box?

cheers

Keith

Hi!

Is the "WinTV-HVR-1800" supported by GBPVR?

What is the quality of this card, about analog capture?

Thanks!

Bye!

Recordings never stopped again - Bug found (?)
Posted by: fhmanas - 2007-11-06, 01:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Am re-writing this from a previous thread. this is related to this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=30626

I was able to recreate this problem unintentionally, but this time I know what I did.

1. I went to TV Guide
2. Chose a program
3. Clicked "Watch"
4. Watched it for a while, then clicked the 'rec' button to record until end of the show
5. Press 'back' to return to TV Guide
6. Watched a previously recorded show
7. Went back to watch the recorded show that I chose from Live TV
8. Was able to watched but noticed the recording continuing beyond the TV show length.

This might be a bug on the rec button on Live TV, as I normally just choose a show then record, rarely pressing 'rec' on Live TV.

Is anyone else taking up the cudgell?
This was hands down the easiest and most reliable I had found and its sorry to see it go..

Update : just noticed the new hosts for jrobbos config ...

  EPG upload on startup
Posted by: dragonfiregum - 2007-11-06, 06:12 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Title says it all. Instead of setting a time, a option so it reloads a minute after startup ( to allow stuff to load without bogging)
For those with power hungry loud computers.

  Strange channel problem
Posted by: dragonfiregum - 2007-11-06, 06:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

This problem is new and has started since the daylight time switch.
I am missing most of my channels from 23-33.
Some of these channels have doubles in the 100's and 200's which are unchangeable to also.
I checked my epg they show up, and i checked on there site.
Ive emptied and reloaded my EPG, they show up in config. But when i run GBPVR there missing in the guide, and i cannot change to those channels.
Nothing odd appears in my logs when i looked around.

oh and its version 1.0.16 i think this is latest?
