Posted by: Torque - 2007-10-16, 11:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I just got the HDHomeRun setup and a couple of channels have some noise at the top of the video. Like this:

Is there a way to get rid of this?

Thanks.

  Vista event log message
Posted by: mvallevand - 2007-10-16, 11:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Does anyone know a way to turn off the GBPVR Event 1000 Interactive Services detection message that is being logged in the Windows Vista Event Viewer? The general message is

A device or program has requested attention. Device or application: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\FFmpeg\ffmpeg.exe. Message title: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\FFmpeg\ffmpeg.exe.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Everyone,

I am new in this forum and also newbie in PVR. I recently downloaded this great program GB-PVR. I was configuring it and got to the point where it asks me for EPG source. I was wondering if someone can point me to the right direction where I can find a free/ good quality EPG. By the way I live in California, USA.

Regards,
Greg

Trouble getting and viewing digital tv
Posted by: eds - 2007-10-16, 09:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Totally new at this. I have a WinTV HVR-1600 running on Windows Vista Ultimate and I am trying to get digital high def channels.

Finally got GBPVR to download guide information for almost all my digital channels (that's another story).

When I try to view some channels I get high quality no signal strength and then the program hangs. Program crashes on other channels and is jerky on the rest.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I know I can receive these channels cause everything works great in WinTV.

  No Settings available under pvrx2
Posted by: Khidr - 2007-10-16, 09:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm using GB-PVR in vista with my hauppauge 1600 and it's the best solution I've found by far. (I use a hava wireless with VMCE, and someday would like to have all three tuners in one happy gbpvr family, but that's for some other time).

For now: when I run pvrx2, 10.16, I have no settings tab under my settings menu. I have lots of different ways to turn off my computer (hibernate, standby, restart, etc...) and epg update but no settings. Any ideas?

Sorry if this has been asked, and I'm just inept at searching today, I did look.

I'm interested in being able to change to change skins from within, and customize/change community skin themes. (are there other ways to do this?)

  pvr-150 lifespan
Posted by: capone - 2007-10-16, 07:27 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Anyone know the lifespan of a pvr150 card? I'm getting some odd behavior, and wondering if it's just always-on taking a toll.

Circuit City has the 1600 for $80, and I was considering giving one a try. I'm still using analog cable, but it's only $10 more than the 150 at newegg.

  Pauses during live tv
Posted by: capone - 2007-10-16, 06:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

This just started happening a night or two ago: when I'm watching animation on live tv, there are these little pauses once in a while. They don't seem to happen to recordings, and if I rewind, they are there, too.

I watch TV in timeshift, but live/record qualities are the same. I have tired moving the live tv to another drive and lowering the bit rate, but they don't help. Nothing is in the windows logs to explain it. It could be happening during regular shows, but I haven't seen it (even on news shows w/ a crawl).

Could you look at these logs and see if anything stands out. It happened like 3-5 times betweer 1:47-1:48 in these logs.

I haven't changed anything on the system recently at all (no new apps, plugins, drivers, etc). The only other thing I notced recently was once in a while the remote was becoming unresonsive to GB (the 150 IR commands...but not to the UIRT I use for vol/tv power).

  garbled text
Posted by: gkovacsp - 2007-10-16, 06:15 PM - Forum: Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli - Replies (13)

This is most probably not a slimmgbpvr problem, but I can't find a solution and couldn't find a help anywhere.

I export the currently recorded show's title into a textfile. Since I live in Hungary the titles will have hungarian characters in them.
Example file content:

Code:
Kikötő - Háttér

If I read this file with the following command:
Code:
@for /f "usebackq tokens=1 delims=§" %%G IN ("C:\lock-recording.txt") DO SET show=%%G
then Echo it to the screen:
Code:
echo %show%
then I'll have some garbled text printed:
Code:
KikA6tA - HA!ttA)r

So I'm just wondering if anyone have a solution for this... To see the same on the screen as in the file.

I know it is a character codepage problem, but don'T know the solution.

I Use a hungarian Windows XP.

Thanks in advance!

  forum search faulty?
Posted by: K.S. - 2007-10-16, 05:09 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

sub, (or anybody else with the wanted knowledge Wink)

maybe you can shed some light on this. try searching for the following word

SetSuspendState

you'll get only one result, but not the other threads like this here
difference: the only thread returned has that word with leading/trailing spaces, the other thread has the following string: powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState with the leading comma
is there any way to find that string? searching for the string powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState didn't bring back any results either Sad

i've also tried google with site:forums.gbpvr.com but it seems like you've disabled robots?

  Low Audio
Posted by: 235301 - 2007-10-16, 03:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

With the HD channels from my HVR-1600 I get really low volume compared to the PVR-150 that is in the system for analog. Is there a registry tweak or anything else that I can use to bring up the volume levels on the HVR-1600(no response from Hauppage tech support on query about this issue)?
