what websites do all of you visit? or which ones do you like for their products
obviously everyone comes to the GB-PVR website, so dont bother with it :p (you can probably include google in that list as well)
1. If I use a local directory for music/pictures etc ie d:\mypics - works a treat. If I use a network directory - or even map a drive from the network - so for example z:\mypics - it won't work - you can see the alias name but it won't drill down into the directory. This ONLY happens on the hauppauge unit remotely - using PVRX2 etc on the PC works a treat.
2. Again using the Hauppauge unit, fast forwarding and jumping just screw things up.
3. Any idea when the NET radio will be back? I loved that when first using this software many versions ago.
I've installed the latest version of GBPVR (1.0.16) and am trying to select my card (Hauppauge HVR-1100) as a capture source.
If I select the 'only show devices in this machine' option then I get a message saying 'no known cards in this machine'.
There is no option to add it as a Nova-T in the drop down list.
I've also checked the bda.ini file and the following entry is already in there:
[Hauppauge HVR-1100]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 713X BDA DVBT Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 713X BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
I have just brought a Viewsonic 37" LCD Tv - gotta say I'm pretty happy with it. I've been running it with a standard 2m VGA Cable. I've had a problem since I changed from an Nvidia to a Radeon card that the signal wasn't auto adjusting properly and was taking a bit of fiddling to get the picture right (horizontal position etc). Today while at a cabling wholesaler I purchased a DVI to HDMI cable and came home and hooked it to my Radeon X300SE's DVI port and low and behold the pc auto detected the new display and enabled it at the right resolution. My problem is that the picture is blooming, that is the white text under the icons at the desktop etc are very bright and blooming out a lot. I've played with the contrast, brightness etc and its a little better now but I would have expected instantly as good as the VGA, the position etc looks perfect instantly so the digital signal is working better on that front.
Has anyone had any similar experiences with this, are there tools out there for tweaking the Digital output from the cards?? Is this due to it being a cheap cable (I thought with digital over 2M even a cheap cable should be perfect?). Is it a bad pairing?
Hi Martin I was trying out the 9-11 dongle. I hadn't until now due to all the posts about problems with it and I didn't have much time. But I have a day off today so I have time .
I noticed that scrolling the miniguide is very slow. In the 8-24 dongle it took about a second to when you clicked the down arrow before it would actually go down one item. With the latest version it takes ~4 secs, when I do a page down it takes ~5-6 secs till it actually shows the next "page".
I have my router on top of my PC and currently have a 35m network cable between them (due to my old house layout). As you can imagine this is a bit excessive so I would like to swap it for a shorter one. I've got my eye on this cable, but want to check that it is just a short, standard network cable and is suitable for my needs. The 'UTP' is something I don't recognise. :confused:

After discovering that Zap2It was gone, I started playing with various methods of getting an EPG so my GBPVR would work again. Zap2XML seemed like the favorite, so I fired it up.
However, I still seem to be stuck. After setting up my preferences according to the instructions, and running the tool, I only get one channel. It's listed as "i.labs.zap2it.com". I saw another individual complain about this, and they mentioned deleting the cache. I have tried deleting the cached .html files that are generated by zap2xml with the -c command, but I still only get one channel. Is there another cache file to delete? Could it be something that I have done wrong?
I installed the MS XML scraper guy. The program works great, downloads the guide, loads it in GB-PVR, but I'm having a problem with the channel numbers.
At first, only the channel number would come up in the guide, not my icons. So I started messing around with the Channels and Input Channel Sources windows to try to remove the old channels and I ended up just screwing everything up.
Is there a way to reset all the channel inputs, names, etc? How do I map what's coming out of the tuner card to what's in the guide?
