My pvr is freezing when I fast forward a recording, It doesn't matter if I am using gbpvr, or pvrx2. I have a athlon 64 3800+ so I am not out of cpu. I am using a pvr-250 card.
Can anyone recommend any reasonably cheap, easy to use NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices which have their own, preferably web-based torrent clients?
Been a while since I had a go at the client, but I'm stuck with this error. It seems to be not finding a network path, I opened up windows firewall (but didn't try router FW, athough we're on same subnet.
Any ideas?
k.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I have the latest version of GBPVR 1.0.16, with quicktime alternative installed. Files play perfectly when played within PVRX2 or GBPVR on the computer. The file extensions are .MOV and .MP4. These file are h264. These files also play well on WMP.
The problem occurs when playing on MVP. Playing .MP4 videos play fine, but playing .MOV ( or .M4V) files cause the MVP to reboot.
The Log file MVP-PVR2.exe.log file is attached below.
The interesting thing is copying this file with a new extension (.MP4) appears make the MVP handle the files just fine (not transcoding, just renaming). Also renaming a working file with an MOV extension also causes MVP to hang.
I think the problem lies with how the names are passed to ffmpeg for transcoding. PVRX2 appears to have difficulty passing the file names of videos with .MOV or .M4V to ffmpeg correctly.
Could someone help me look into this and see if this a problem on their system? Does someone already have a fix for this?
I use this to itunes to download podcasts to my ipod and it would be nice to just have them work on the MVP without renaming all of them and doubling up on hard drive space.
Thanks.

I am also looking for a CPU and to build a dedicated system. Low power consumption and the ability to work with Hi Def are prime considerations. I want to be able to record TWO hi Def channels and, if possible, watch one simultaneously.
I looked at the Jetway Mini-ITX board with a Via C3 processor. They make one with an HDMI socket on it.
Currently the J7F5M, on this link, has only the 1.5GHz CPU but I do know that there is a 2GHz CPU that would work in that board - though whether it is possible to buy the board with a 2GHz Via C7 I don't know.
C7 CPU: http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/proces...m/c7-m.jsp
Jetway ITX board: http://www.jetway.com.tw/jetway/productsearch.asp
Sold here: http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=11725
That was one thought. The other was to use a motherboard that supported Intel core 2 duo Mobile CPUs.

Though I wouldn't want to stretch to the expense of a 2.16GHz unless absolutely necessary but would go to the 1.83GHz if need be.
Please comment on the above and give any other advice. I do know that some programs won't run on AMD 64 (so I haven't checked AMD out so far).
As I have stated above, low power consumption is a must. For example, my AMD Athlon 64 2800+ 1.79GHz CPU computer runs at 70W/h. Over a year, running 24/7, that would cost me £61/year (~Euro90, ~Aus$150, ~US$120) in electricity charges.
I'm using 99.12 set to VMRCustom using PureVideo decoder. Works fine until yesterday when I get the half the screen diagonally blacked out (right angle triangle) after about half an hour of playback. Any button/key will switch the blacked out area to different corners of the screen.
I have to shutdown, restart GPBPVR and then resume my show to fix the problem. Has anyone seen this problem before?
I've recently installed VLC to playback .m2t files which didn't work in GBPVR. Could that be the cause of the problem?
Somehow when I upgraded to v16, I lost the info that the main page used to show. Such as the current weather conditions and what was to be recorded next. I have the buttons on the left, but no longer the additional info that used to be in the lower right third of the screen. What do I have to edit to get it back? Thanks!
I use DVI out from Intel 945 graphics.
Powerstip is used to select a certain format as the EDID from the monitor lists less modes than it actually can display.
Once I switch the monitor to standby (ding dong sound from the computer) and back on again (dong ding sound from the computer) the output is set t o640x480 and 16 colors, that seems to be the most restricted output the Intel graphics can generate. After that I must use powerstrip again to force the "good" setting.
Is there a way to tell XP not to do all those intelligent things and never to change the resolution?
