  wrong freq and sid
Posted by: eastavin - 2021-03-16, 05:21 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Hi.  wondering if anyone can suggest why atsc virtual channel 49.3 always ends up with the wrong frequency 33 and sid 0 after scan or rescan.  it is supposed to be 16 and 5 respectively...  in sequence with the other virtual 49 channels. that is what the other machines I have show and work properly on ver 4.

Another question is where is the screen for editing these sort of things?  It seems to have moved from ver 4.

Thanks for any input

Edward

What is the correct URL?

ts file shows length too long?
Posted by: SuttonWillow - 2021-03-15, 08:20 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

There are actually different symptoms that may not be related to this issue, but I've been working around them. One is inability to edit file, and the other is extremely slow editing. I'm able to sometimes edit file in Microsoft Movie Maker if it doesn't work in Power Director. Ok, I'm hoping someone can point me to solutions to these two issues, but this thread is for my primary issue at hand, which is the time shown in the length field of the file is not the correct length. Most of the time it shows a longer length than it is. Whenever that happens, the file will play (in Media Player), but if I click to advance past where the unknown problem is, it freezes. It also prevents me from editing in Power Director, but the last 2 files that did this I was able to edit in Movie Maker. I don't like Movie Maker because it takes 3 hours to process a file but only 30 min. in Power Director.

I record OTA TV movies and edit them in Power Director, which usually works very well. I have tried to fix this problem using TS Doctor and some other "fixers" but although TS Doctor does correct the length time, it doesn't correct the issue where I can't edit in Power Director. TS Doctor tells me there are no errors. I assume that .ts is the only file type that NPVR records to, as I wasn't able to find any option to that.omegle xender

I have been using NPVR v. 4.2.5 since Jan. This issue started showing up in the past month, even though I haven't changed anything on my system. Perhaps I just started noticing it, because lately I've seen about 10 files not editable, in which I did some experimentation to try to fix them. I end up re-recording most of them, as OTA fortunately rebroadcasts most movies on a later date.

My system is an HP Pavilion with Windows 8.1 Pro. I'm using KWorld tuners. Log files are attached. I was not able to figure out why 2 of the files would not zip, as they were "in use" by some unknown process, so they are included as "copy" of the originals.

Raspberry Pi 4 in USA with OTA ATSC
Posted by: MattDuffy - 2021-03-15, 01:51 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (27)

Hello all, I am a long-time user of NextPVR on Windows. My Windows laptop is pretty old though, and I thought it might be nice to run my NextPVR server on my Rasperry Pi 4.

My tuner is a Hauppauge WinTV dualHD (although it shows up in NextPVR as LG Electronics LGDT3306A).

Unfortunately NextPVR's "Scan Channels" feature does not work.

Is there anyone in out there in the USA who has successfully been able to scan for ATSC channels on the Raspberry Pi? If so, how did you do it?

  Incorrect Time/EPG after Time Change
Posted by: buckeyestargazer - 2021-03-14, 10:03 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (4)

After last nights time change, the web app does not display the EPG correctly and is off by an hour.  The listings and show times are correct, but the NPVR display thinks it's an hour before the actual time.  In other words, the indicator line that shows the current actual time is an hour behind the actual time.

Note that the NPVR desktop client is correct, it's just the web app that has this problem.

Kodi cant connect to NPVR if left dormant for a few hours...
Posted by: gdogg371 - 2021-03-14, 01:37 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (4)

As per the below Kodi logs, if I dont watch Kodi for a while, then try to resume watching, the backend seems to go into some kind of sleep, where it is no longer responding to requests from Kodi. I then have to reboot NPVR. Can anyone see from the attached log why that might be the case? Running Kodi 19 and NPVR most recent version as of yesterday. The NPVR logs have not been update for several hours...

  Android TV Live Channels
Posted by: mvallevand - 2021-03-13, 11:05 PM - Forum: NextPVR Other Clients - Replies (35)

Are there any users here who are interested in connecting to NextPVR via the Android TV Live Channels as their primary interface?   I've got the fundamentals working with my MiBox, Tivo 4KStreamer and various Android TV images, and I suspect it would work on the Shield too.  However for the life of me I can't add channels via Google Chromecast's flavour of Live Channels which really was going to be my target player.

The reason I ask is if there is no interest I think I will drop this project.

  TDS TV+ guidance help Please
Posted by: vpaul11 - 2021-03-13, 07:56 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I am looking for some guidance. I upgraded to TDS TV+ (a downgrade in my opinion) Apparently they are a some sort of IPTV or Android TV. I have a HD Homerun Prime with a cable card. TDS tells me that the cable card is now incompatible with my new TV+ service. I really enjoyed being able to watch TV periodically on my Windows 10 based PC. I am open to all sorts of alternative software apps to be able to see TV on my PC again. Any suggestions? Thanks

  DefaultDirectoryChoice spread not working
Posted by: Lanhydrock - 2021-03-13, 01:19 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (7)

Running version 5.1.0.201216 of NextPVR on Linux Mint 20.1
2 recording directories setup via WebGUI.

/var/opt/nextpvr/config.xml includes

Code:
<RecordingDirectory>/media/psf/NextPVR/</RecordingDirectory> <ExtraRecordingDirectories>NextPVRext256GB~/media/psf/NextPVRext256GB/~</ExtraRecordingDirectories> <RecordingDirectoryTranslation>d:\temp~\\someserver\someshare</RecordingDirectoryTranslation> <LiveTVBufferDirectory>/media/psf/NextPVRext256GB/</LiveTVBufferDirectory> <DefaultDirectoryChoice>spread</DefaultDirectoryChoice>

Still, spreading doesn't work.

We open the TVGuide and select any program.
We click on Record Once without specifying any advanced options.

Although /media/psf/NextPVRext256GB has 256GB of free space and /media/psf/NextPVR only 100GB, the system records to the default directory on /media/psf/NextPVR.

We select /media/psf/NextPVRext256GB in the advanced options and it does record to the other location.

Is spreading working for anybody, please? Are we missing something? - Thanks a lot.

[EDIT]

With Extended Logging set to on we even get:

Code:
2021-03-13 15:54:09.242 [DEBUG][6] Checking disk space for: /media/psf/NextPVRext256GB/ 2021-03-13 15:54:09.242 [DEBUG][15] Available Space: 2021-03-13 15:54:09.242 [DEBUG][15] (Default) - 499963174912/98969874432 2021-03-13 15:54:09.242 [DEBUG][15] (NextPVRext256GB) - 249849593856/249711009792 2021-03-13 15:54:09.242 [DEBUG][15] [{"name":"Default","total":499963174912,"free":98969874432},{"name":"NextPVRext256GB","total":249849593856,"free":249711009792}]

and

Code:
2021-03-13 15:54:30.822 [DEBUG][9] DefaultDirectoryChoiceext: spread

Strangely, with Extended Logging set to off, the log reads:

Code:
2021-03-13 15:56:30.522 [DEBUG][9] DefaultDirectoryChoice: spread

Note the missing ext in DefaultDirectoryChoice.
